December 20th, 2021

Done.

Bucs receiver Chris Godwin has played his final game of the 2021 season and maybe his final Bucs game forever, contrary to previous reports.

Godwin, a scheduled free agent this offseason who hurt his knee last night, is out for the year with a torn ACL, Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians said in his day-after presser.

This was supposed to be a coronation, the official end of a 4-run atop the NFC South by the Saints.

New Orleans arrived in Tampa without its head coach and two of the NFL’s premier offensive tackles. Riding a 4-game winning streak, the Bucs were averaging 37.5 points per game at home, unbeaten at Raymond James Stadium.

Chris Godwin Out For Regular Season

December 20th, 2021

Test results.

It could be worse.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network says MRI tests of Chris Godwin’s sprained MCL are back and Godwin is done for the regular season.

However, Rapoport noted Godwin “should” be ready to get back on the field for the playoffs.

Joe is actually breathing a sigh of relief. This could have been so much worse.

Officially, Godwin finishes his fifth regular season with 98 catches for 1,103 yards and 5 touchdowns.
