Divisional Round
Bucs (12-5) at Slimy Saints (13-4)
Kickoff: 6:40 p.m.
TV: FOX (WTVT-TV Channel 13, locally).
Is the Buccaneers secondary playing better than it was when it walked off the field at the end of the 2019 season?
Joe can’t say that at all, but Joe can say there’s enough talent back there to make game-changing plays in Sunday’s playoff game in New Orleans, and to show Bucs fans that the unit can recapture its early-season form. (more…)
“Now listen, if Marshon Lattimore so much as looks at Mike Evans, you pull that flag out of your back pocket. Or you will work nothing but Jags and Jets games next year, got it?”
It boils down to this: The NFL is a TV league. The reason why offenses have been opened up as a result of rule changes over the decades is because offense sells tickets. (more…)
Confident in former team.
If the Bucs are able to upset the slimy Saints on Sunday night, it may be the seal-clubbing the slimy Saints gave Tampa Bay was the catalyst to the Bucs returning the favor. (more…)
Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich
Go back and look at the Week 1 Buccaneers offense against the Saints.
Joe did this morning. (more…)
Despite 1,688 yards from scrimmage this regular season, and a beastly playoff performance, Saints running back Alvin Kamara isn’t generating a huge fear factor in the Buccaneers head coach. (more…)
Return will help.
In November, Drew Brees fractured ribs. Needless to say, he also missed some time. (more…)
When the Bucs flip-flopped quarterbacks during the 2017 and 2018 seasons, once because of injury and once because the NFL tabbed Jameis Winston as a league sex offender, the subject of chemistry between a QB and his pass catchers was a hot topic. (more…)
Riffs on the Bucs.
Like all of Bucs fandom, a former Bucs starter is stoked for the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. (more…)
Perhaps the greatest and purest insight into the Buccaneers’ losing mentality during The Lost Decade was delivered by Lavonte David after the Bucs tanked their season opener in 2015. Joe still can’t believe David’s historic explanation.
Today, David gave some insight into the 2020 season. (more…)
Another milestone.
You know, Joe doesn’t think it is stupid to start thinking of Bucs star receiver Mike Evans as a future Hall of Famer. (more…)

Injury report.
The week’s final injury report was just released. And three Bucs players are questionable to play against the slimy Saints in the division round of the NFL playoffs.
Andrew Adams (not injury related), Ronald Jones (quad/finger) and Jordan Whitehead (knee) all found themselves questionable.
For the Saints, the biggest name on the injury report is Patrick Robinson. The corner has been declared out with a hamstring.
Not going to Detroit.
Either the Detroit Lions have already made a decision, or Bucs defensive coordinator Todd Bowles has another job lined up, or he prefers to live in Tampa (for the time being). (more…)
Challenge.
So here we are. Another week, another playoff game, another test for the Bucs’ offensive line. (more…)
