Richard Sherman Spills Beans To Leonard Fournette About Bucs

October 10th, 2021

Bucs CB Richard Sherman.

This was so damn cool Joe has to share it, even though it has nothing to do with the game.

Playoff Lenny spoke today and among the people listening was Evan Closky of WTSP-TV Channel 10. And it seems Bucs cornerback Richard Sherman, who has been on damn good teams and played in three Super Bowls, doesn’t think any of his previous two teams can hold a candle to the Bucs.

This just fires Joe up! And Sherman hasn’t played with the Bucs at full strength in the secondary.

Joe is going to chug a Bromosa from Big Storm Brewing with this intel.

As for Sherman, no, he’s not playing anywhere near what he once did as an All-Pro. But Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians said Sherman, playing a full game in the Florida heat which he is not used to, and in only his second game this year, “is a pro and that’s about the best thing I can say about a player.”

It’s impressive that Sherman can play a full game at all.

Now they should probably do him a favor, and the rest of the defense a favor, and maybe mix in some more zone. I don’t mind the blitzing, at least when they do it from the line and not from 5 yards deep, but a traditional zone (not JPP dropping 30 yards) would lessen the pressure a bit of the corners.

    America’s cornerback Richard Sherman

  3. Pelsbuc61 Says:

OJ cannot block if his life depended on it!

  4. JimmyJack Says:

It will be a big boost for this defense if Sherman can get up to speed. He is OK for now but I think he will get even better in the next few weeks.

If he can get to the point where he can make the play in the endzone instead of taking a pentalty it will nake a huge difference.

But I think that’s the issue, he doesn’t seem to have the speed to play man-to-man. He can get in better shape, but I’m not sure he’s going to gain straight-line speed, and if you can’t run, you can’t cover. #43 showed that all day, today.

  7. rrsrq Says:

Dam Pels, rewind, Gronk gave up a sack (or QB hit) this year also.

  8. Joe Says:

Never could (in the NFL). What’s new?

  9. Irishmist Says:

I’ve never hesitated to criticize OJ when he deserves it, but on that sack he gave up the rusher stuck his hand up in his face mask and had a hold of it for several seconds and it wasn’t called. And OJ did have a good block on Fournettes touchdown run.

  10. JimmyJack Says:

Rod Munch the play I mentioned in the endzone dont require straight line. If he can improve over the next month or so he should be just fine and be able to make plays on shorter fields in the redzone……..And our redzone defense has been awful this year. Id be suprized if we are not the worst in football.

If Sherman can help us get better in the redzone thats a big deal.

  11. Rod Munch Says:

People are spoiled by Gronk, he’s one of the very few TE’s that can block a DE one-on-one and win the majority of the time. The sad part however is that without Gronk, OJ is the best blocking TE we have.

Also can we PLEASE cut McElroy already and resign Hudson.

    ……….

Well, nevermind. The 49ers activated Hudson. Damn, should have grabbed him off their practice squad last week. Still I’d cut McElroy, there has to be a blocking TE out there somewhere. If not, get another offensive lineman in that spot.

  12. Rod Munch Says:

JimmyJack – I don’t know if I agree, he was a step behind and knew thought that was going to be a TD and interfered – at least that’s what I saw on the one review (although I certainly could be wrong since it was just a quick review).

Hopefully, as he learns the defense, he can just get better and make up maybe half a step.

But I’m not rooting against him or anything, I’m hoping he can contribute until everyone is back since you then have a valuable backup veteran to help out the youngsters.

Wait a minute… You rag (justifiably) about OJ Howard’s blocking and instead you want Tanner Hudson???

That guy couldn’t block a baby from putting its thumb in its mouth!!! ROTFLAMAO!

  14. JimmyJack Says:

Rod Munch yes thats the play. Sherman had good position and his back is against the endzone so he doesnt need dash time speed.

Thats a play you dont get past him most of his career. If he has a little more in the tank and can get better in the next few weeks he makes a play on that.

  15. Wild Bill Says:

    OJ lacking in juice!

  16. You gotta be crazy Says:

For those doubting Sherman just look at the Bucs speed n conditioning coach. Enough said!

  17. Rod Munch Says:

Joe – Wrong guy, I think you’re confusing me with someone else. I was defending OJ, saying you can’t expect him to block as good as Gronk, who is one of the very very best blocking TEs in the NFL.

As for Hudson, I’m saying McElroy can’t catch or block, so you might as well have Hudson who can at least catch.

  18. Greg Says:

My .02 cents on Sherm is that he has delivered! We were freaking out with the secondary and he has calmed the storm. Off the street… with everything considered he has been more than solid. I wasn’t a fan before but I am now!

  19. TampabayDJ82 Says:

Sherman played good enough for being with the team a week and some change !! Now the Bucs need to go looking at the losing teams and find another corner !! Give up our 2 round pick and RoJo to the dolphins for X Howard !! Or the Giants have a few corners to trade and so on !! This is the YEAR TO WIN NOW !! GIVE UP THE FIRST ROUND PICK IF IT MEANS WE GET BACK TO THE SUPER BOWL !! WHO CARES ABOUT THE PICK IF IT’S THE LAST PICK IN THE ROUND !! RoJo and a pick is WORTH FIXING THE SECONDARY !! WE FIX THAT , AND THINK 🤔 OF HOW GREAT THIS TEAM COULD BE !! IT WOULD ALLOW OUR PASS RUSH TO GET TO THE QB! THEY AREN’T GETTING TO THE QB LIKE THEY SHOULD CUZ THE QB HAS 3 WIDE OPEN TARGETS IN 2 SECONDS

  20. Joe Says:

Give up our 2 round pick and RoJo to the dolphins for X Howard !!

If the Bucs cannot afford Stephon Gilmore (and they couldn’t), they sure as hell can’t afford Howard who makes more than double Gilmore.

  21. David Says:

I have no doubt that Sherman will be fine in another couple weeks. The playbook will become more and more second nature and he’ll have his legs under him more and more. On top of that, when you’re playing with Brady, Evans, JPP, Brown, Suh, White, etc….
They are demanding the team settles for nothing but excellence.
I fully expect him to pick it up because of all those things.
Then when they get Davis and SMB back with him…
    LFG!!!

  22. Man Child Says:

Sherman knew this before he signed.

  23. Wideleftandright Says:

Richard Sherman was doing alot of catch up and trailing.
Maybe not up to game speed yet pr may e more suited as a safety now.

  24. Erik Says:

A happy player is a great player. Seems Sherman is happy being on the bucs team and that can make a player play better. Look at Brady and how well he is doing and in time this team will be aspire to the team they were during the Super Bowl. The more wins this team gets the better they become. I was worried about how they will do when it’s time to play Buffalo but seeing we are still scoring huge points with a lean defense do to injury I imagine how this team is going to explode when everyone is healthy and playing.

  25. Pat Feguson. Says:

We love Richard Sherman hes agreat player . And agree a happy team with talented .team makes astrong team . Go Richard …do believe you are right . Team plays fantastic.

  26. SteveM Says:

Does Bruce Arians read these comments?

  27. Billy Davis Says:

I am praying that you will get another chance to win a championship with the Brady Buccaneers in Tampa Bay, Florida.
    And it failed…
