With the selection of Calijah Kancey at No. 19, Tampa Bay’s GM stayed true to his board and now he hopes that truth sets Todd Bowles free to forge a dynamic pass rush. Maybe one reason Bucs rookie defensive tackle Calijah Kancey is able to get in opponents’ backfields so much is because he uses Reggie Bush-like moves or because he ‘Moss’ed’ guards?
The Bucs’ first-round pick arrived at One Buc Palace today and sort of made a confession. Growing up, he didn’t warm to interior linemen.
Kancey was asked what defensive tackles he admired and he said, None. Why? “I always considered myself a skills player,” Kancey said.
When pressed to name his favorites, Kancey said Reggie Bush and Randy Moss.
Imagine Kancey going deep down the seam for bombs, shaming defenders? LOL
