Dream Draft For Todd Bowles

Happy man.
Todd Bowles turns 60 in November and he doesn’t hide that he’s a bit of an old school coach. So Joe thinks Bowles is drooling over his first three picks in this 2023 NFL Draft.
The Bucs just drafted three guys in a row who will put their hands in the dirt: defensive tackle Calijah Kancey, guard/tackle Cody Mauch and now, in Round 3, edge rusher YaYa Diaby.
Joe’s quick research says the Bucs haven’t done that since 1982. That’s 41 years!
Bowles said many times this offseason that he wanted a more physical team. That’s what old school coaches are always seeking.
Joe is all for the concept, assuming the Bucs picked the right guys. But that’s not so easy to do.
How bout a nice toy for new offensive coordinator Dave Canales? Throw the new guy a bone. He deserves a tight end or an explosive running back.
Joe nearly wept tonight in Round 3 when the Dolphins picked running back Devon Achane.
If he’s taking handoffs from Tom Brady this season, Joe’s goint to punch a wall.

There are still some good running backs we could pick up tomorrow and maybe even a decent receiver if they want to go that way. Surprisingly no off ball linebackers or DB’s yet.

First, Dolphin fans are dillusional. Brady has no interest in playing for a mediocre team with a mediocre offensive line and a dumpster fire ownership/coaches. Dolphins and Jets fans think every free agent wants to play for them.
Second….why would you want to waste a 3rd round pick on any RB?? You can get one rounds 4-7. Doesn’t matter how good he is, he can’t run behind a bad/average o-line. Doesn’t matter how average he is because anyone can run behind a great o-line.
When is the last time a RB carried a team like Emmit Smith or Marshall Faulk? Hell, Leonard Fournette came off his couch and sliced teams in the playoffs Super Bowl year because our O-line was great. Fast forward to last year: bad offensive line and NO ONE could run
