For those playing the NFL Draft home game, the Bucs’ only picks remaining are in Round 7.
They have three of those following today’s trades.
Tampa Bay picks in the middle of the round at No. 235, followed by No. 248 and No. 262, the second-to-last pick in the draft.
The Bucs need to upgrade their special teams coverage talent, and Round 7 is a good place to do that. That’s where the Bucs landed hair-on-fire linebacker Grant Stuard last year and guys like Dakoda Watson and Cody Grimm in years past.
General manager Jason Licht was dealing again this afternoon, this time going in attack mode for a fifth-round cornerback/special teams ace. [read more]
So the Bucs have a new cornerback as a result of trading up to the No. 157th pick (third pick in the fifth round) and snagged San Houston State corner Zyon McCollum. [read more]

The Bucs seem to find players from the PAC-12. And maybe leaning on that history, the Bucs began the third day of the 2022 draft by selecting Washington tight end Cade Otton.
Here is what Joe wrote about Otton this morning in a piece about players the Bucs may target:
Cade Otton, TE, Washington: Big guy (6-5, 247) who was a four-year starter. Averaged 14.3 yards per catch as a junior. Last year a combination of a bum foot, missing two games due to COVID protocols and having godawful quarterbacks stunted his numbers.
