Buccaneers 30, Carolina 24

January 1st, 2023

Beast!

Wait a minute. Is it 2023 or 2021?

The Buccaneers are NFC South champions after the comeback hammering of the Panthers today at The Licht House.

The offense was unleashed! And it feels so damn good. Damn, an 8-8 record has never felt this delicious.

Tom Brady led a 20-point fourth quarter that finished off a comeback explosion.

Some observers actually think the Panthers defense is damn good, but it went limp at the hands of Brady today as the Bucs racked up a whopping 494 yards of offense — 494! That’s the most Carolina has allowed all season, and the most posted by Tampa Bay.

Joe will issue a hearty congratulations to failing Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich. Thankfully, the Bucs opened the offense up a little earlier today and it made a difference. A little no-risk-it-no-biscuit was a beautiful way to honor Bucco Bruce Arians.

Brady lived his Tampa dream with 432 yards passing on 34-of-45 passing with three touchdowns. A big reason Brady came here was to air it out to Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, and those guys had career kind of days. Evans racked up 10 catches for 207 yards and 3 touchdown, and Godwin added 120 yards while hauling in all 9 of his targets.

Man, Joe is fired up. The Bucs will host a playoff game in two weeks, date to be determined.

Huge love for the big strip sack by Anthony Nelson, and there were so many other hidden gems on defense, a big stop by Lavonte David, Vita Vea coming up big off an injury, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka with sure tackling and more.

And what can Joe say about rookie punter Jake Camarda? Wow. Wow. Wow. That might have been the greatest play by a Bucs punter in history. And Joe had never seen better. No words. Joe will write more about that later.

Most points in a quarter (20) since Jan 9 2022 against Panthers. Way to go Bucs! Evans is a stud!

  2. BucsBro Says:

    Thank you GOAT and Mike.

Brady saved the careers of Bowles and Leftwich today.

    On to the playoffs.

  3. Casual Observer Says:

There are some posters on this board (Bucs fans?) who still don’t believe the scoreboard today.

  4. Jack Clark Says:

    Has anybody seen Julio Jones????

  5. Gofortheface30 Says:

I wouldn’t had infinitely less anxiety end of game if it was for that little 170 pound weak kicker of ours

  6. Yucs2Bucsr Says:

They made the playoffs, but maybe this group wins one game ?? So bad, but oh well .,, Go Bucs

  7. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

  11. Curse of Gruden Says:

Has Leftwich taken on coaching special teams?

  12. Couch Fan Says:

It’s nice making the playoffs but im puking a little bit in my mouth knowing The Bowles & Leftwhich circus will be back for another season.

  13. cmurda Says:

It’s true Joe. It does feel good. I’m not even going to make cynical comments. Todd just kept his job and I’ll take playoffs however they come. Woohoo!!!

  14. Izod Says:

Yay, we’re going to the playoffs! So what if we struggle against the worst teams right down to the very last second of the game?

  15. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

So we play in 2 weeks…that will have been 3 weeks for Jensen to get in shape. No way he does not play…and that will make all the difference for Tom Brady.

  16. unbelievable Says:

Pretty ugly game outside the 4th quarter, but good to see the offense (Evans and Brady) finally show up.

Still no running game so we’re probably 1 and done in the playoffs.

But a huge LOFL at the morons who have been claiming Brady is dunzo. Unfortunately, I’m sure he is done with the Bucs after this year…

  17. Buc You Says:

    Play off bound!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. cmurda Says:

LOL. No Curse of Gruden. Keith Armstrong didn’t all of a sudden stink. He’s been proficient at it for some years now.

  19. DungyDance Says:

And unless I missed something, no new injuries. Looking good to get ready for first playoff game.

  20. Buc4evr Says:

Crazy ending. I was afraid they were going to break it down the sideline for a TD. Bucs cause heart attacks for their fans. Lol. Let’s beat Atlanta and actually have a winning record.

  21. Old School Bucs Says:

All my losers in the house let me hear you scream and shout!!! Let me hear you scream and shout the House is on fire! Evans wont get 1000. Brady too old. Panthers will win! Let me hear you loud and proud!!!

See you losers in the superbowl!!!!

  22. Todd Says:

Hats off to a helluva defensive effort, too!!!

  23. Vlad The Impaler Says:

What is wrong with Jill Tryon? Shes failing at pass rush.

Meanwhile Anthony Nelson made some huge plays

  24. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

If Jensen is able to play, our run game will be better and Brady will have more time. If not…well…

…sign Gronk! Now is the time!!!!

  25. smokeshow Says:

    GO BUCS!!!

  26. Bucs Fan Since ‘76 Says:

How does our special needs coordinator still have a job?

    Missed FG
    Missed XP
    Blocked FG
    Fumbled snap on a punt

  27. B Says:

It is no longer a take an opinion or hype- its a literal fact. 1. Jerry Rice 2. Tim Brown 3. Mike Evans

  28. John Ocala Says:

Good job Bucs. Rest the starters and take extra time to work on the game plan for [Dallas?].

  29. HC Grover Says:

Whew! What a qtr. Brady refused to lose. Down with the Dallas Cowpies!

  30. Tucker Says:

Hope this the moment the offense needed to wake yup Mike Evans is a stud.

  31. Buc You Says:

    Love it!

One day, Bucs fans will look back and simply thank TB12 for taking the franchise to 3 straight play off appearances!

    Hopefully a 2nd Super Bowl!

But 3 straight playoffs, a Super Bowl win is definitely great for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers… end of story!

Now time to go take my anxiety meds! LMAO 🤣🤣🤣

  32. cmurda Says:

Camarda did have one of the sickest slices I have ever seen. to be so good that running towards the out of bounds with guys closing in, you can slice it and have it die at the 2-5 yard line wasa simply a thing of beauty. Let me give Keith that gold star. He had to be smart enough to recognize Camarda’s skills and use him as a weapon. That was literally the filthiest punt I have ever seen. I don’t even care about McNabb’s back in the day. That was just bounces of luck. Camarda is amazing. If not for Brady and Evans both dominating, he would need the game ball. If I’m not mistaken, Car would have declined the penalty of ineligible downfield on that punt and they would have about a minute and the ball at our 45.

  33. Vlad The Impaler Says:

The team still looks completely undisciplined and unBrady-like.

If Brady leaves Vlad is blaming the Glazers

  34. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

LOL, got so excited I forgot we have another game left 😉

    Play Trask.

  35. ClwJB Says:

Finally saw signs of life, thank the good lord above ⬆️!

  36. Tackleblockwin Says:

3 years in a row of playoffs. Win or lose I’ll take it.

  37. AmauryGuzman Says:

When Brady has time he makes the plays. OL folks.

  38. Erik Hesson | Fine Artist | Founder of UniqueModernArt.com Says:

    THAT GAME WAS INSANE!

    LFG, BUCS!

    WIN OUT, BABY!

  39. RSJCheapSeats Says:

Brady looks completely different when he has time. It looked like the offense of last year.
    Heal fast Jensen.

  40. Reach87 Says:

Big ups to all our haters!😊

  41. AmauryGuzman Says:

Buccaneer Bonzai nonsense. You don’t rest players you play them through the 3rd quarter.

  42. Vlad The Impaler Says:

These guys will fall apart in the playoffs.

Bowels teams are completely undisciplined and lazy.
Vlad can see them taking next week to party and not practice.
    Idiots

  43. Buc1987 Says:

    They did it!

  44. SKBucsFan Says:

It shouldn’t have been that hard to beat a 6-8 team. But that’s been the whole season. Bowles saved his job for now. Hopefully he continues to show his brilliance and sits some of our hurt players. There is no reason to play Wirfs, Donny, Godwin and Evans. Can also keep Vea, Dean, Hicks and Winfield on the bench. He can also have Brady sit and coach a young Trask.

  45. FairMinded Says:

    Fun to watch! Imagine that!

  46. Vlad The Impaler Says:

ffs PLEASE instill some discipline in this team before the playoffs

  47. John Ocala Says:

How ’bout another “k” + next year Mike? 9 straight; elite company… How about a 45 year old QB going for 400 + and 4 TD’s? Goodwin was incredible today. All around good job.

  48. bucs4life Says:

Please ban anyone badmouthing Brady from now on

  49. Tucker Says:

That Jake camarda play was so sick I couldn’t believe it.

  50. Uncle Urk Says:

Let me be the first to congratulate A. Nelson for his huge play today. Although the TE blocked him effectively all game, he made a play, the play, when we needed it most. Do that more and I’ll eat my crow.

  51. Lamarcus Says:

This BUCS team is getting bounced….. By the any legit playoff team!!! Geez. Why it’s so hard to beat them??? It’s Sam Darnold. Sh+t

  52. Vlad The Impaler Says:

Hopefully Bowels is smart enough to bench all the starters next week

  53. Bucschamp Says:

    30 points 4 TD game

    Omg I want to cry

  54. Vlad The Impaler Says:

    @Uncle Urk

    Yes! Nelson was a stud..

    Jill Tryon is a dud

  55. SufferingSince76 Says:

Aren’t you glad that Brady is washed up? SMH.

  56. Vlad The Impaler Says:

Vlad thinks HE could block Jill Tryon pretty easily

  57. Simeon97 Says:

    Succup is becoming a liability.

  58. Tucker Says:

Hey fans we won act like it geez

  59. Bucs Go Bucs Says:

    Just say it.

Brady carried this team in this game & win it for the team.

    Go Bucs.

  60. George Says:

Great game . Let’s build on this and run the table .

  61. Duane Says:

ME13 was unleashed today and it was glorious. Hats off to The Goat for being strong in the pocket. CG is rounding back into the form we remembered. Run the offense through Evans and I am saying we have a chance ladies and gentlemen. Our best players showed up when we needed them most.

  62. Defense Rules Says:

D-Rok … Congrats. I think you & I were the only two who predicted a win today. Amazing that there are some on this site who are even bitching about a win AND making the playoffs. Just friggin amazing.

  63. Vlad The Impaler Says:

    LOL @ low standard fans.

Hey guys! We didn’t completely suck! That’s good right?

  64. Thunder Says:

Hey Orlbucfan, TBbucks3IQ, and all you other anti Brady losers do you now realize how ignorant you are. Hahaha , you are a bunch of dummies. Hilarious

  65. Vlad The Impaler Says:

ME13 and Brady were nothing short of epic today..

…but the team as a whole has huge weak-links just like Bowels failed Jets

  66. bob in valrico Says:

So much for playing it safe. Its clear there is nothing wrong with Brady’ s arm or his connection to both Evans and Godwin. That is great news. I knew Camarda was a not just a kicker and he proved it today. Coaches need to let the players play. Defense and offense played well.

  67. RSJCheapSeats Says:

So many haters at this site – its hysterical. A good many are rooting against the team. Basically they say the same thing over and over.

  68. Vlad The Impaler Says:

Yeah…playing conservative ball-control with GOAT12 is just retarded

  69. Old School Bucs Says:

Losers back in the house!!! Listen to these clowns! 😂😭🤣😂😭🤣😂😭🤣😂🤣🤣 Crying little beyatches!!!

The road to the superbowl and we are on it!!!

  70. Lamarcus Says:

Speaking truth is NOT hating. I know it hurts tho 😭

  71. Winny Testaverde Says:

Vlad The Inhaler aka Dwight Schrute when he’s trying to be funny with tired The Office lines…hates that The Bucs won and Brady balled out. Give Brady and The Bucs their due, cupcake. Second half biscuits in BA’s honor as his name is forever on the stadium ( pending Gruden like botch ).

  72. Thunder Says:

Lamarcus you have a lot of competition but you may be the dumbest of all! Congrats

  73. cmurda Says:

@bucs4life I second that. Immediate ban for wreckless foot in the mouth criticism of the GOAT. He’s sometimes been about the only guy not messing up in games. Today, Mike and Chris minus an unfortunate fumble were outstanding. The offense really turned it on in the 4th quarter. We still need to search for the recipe that gives us 4 consisten quarters but just getting in the dance is what it’s about. It looked like a throwback game of last year or the year before. Throw the rock and good things happen.

  74. Rayjay1122 Says:

I am so happy we won. I for one have never doubted or disrespected TB12 like some of you stooges but I stand by my belittling of the moronic coaching. Go BUCS!!!

  75. RSJCheapSeats Says:

Lamarcus – You aren’t a fan. I am sure you root against the team. Go away – with your stupidity.

  76. Vlad The Impaler Says:

YAY! Thit team ith jus PERRFECT az it is…I love everyone! We shud be accepting of losers….they’re trying as hard as they can!
    Yay mediocrity!
    .
    .
    .
    .
Truth: This team has some epic studs and is capable of great play but it also has some undisciplined, lazy failures that will torpedo the playoffs

  77. Cchead Says:

They let Brady run no huddle 3 times
All 3 times Big Mike td.

  78. Zwak Says:

Leave Nelson in full time and get JTS off the field for the playoffs. He’s a liability and is never in the right place!

  79. RSJCheapSeats Says:

To be clear there have been games where Brady has not looked good. But it looks like a lot of that is a product of the OL.

  80. Vlad The Impaler Says:

Fetch me a beer Winny…..and stop your incessant whining Beyotch

  81. D-Rok Says:

My game ball goes to the O-line. Call me Crazy, peeps will say Mike or Tom or the punter – but c’mon guys, that was BY FAR the best this O-line has played all year.

Without enuff time, Brady can’t throw to wide-A open Evans, and all this is moot.

I’m proud of the Bucs. They gave it their all and played their best game of the season, when they HAD to.

Great job, Bucs! That reverse was a great play-call. There were some really good plays called by Leftwich, or Brady, or whomever called most of those plays.

Bowles calling the D did good enough of a good job to get the Win. I dunno guys, don’t ever count a Brady-led team out, until they are. And we are still in it.

Brady threw for 432 yards, 3 tuddies. Evans, 207 yards, 3 tuddies. Good stuff, man, good stuff.

    YEE-HAW!! GO BUCS!!!

  82. Arians4President Says:

    Division Champs!!!

  83. Vlad The Impaler Says:

    @Wimpy
Read all of Vlads comments before you paint a weak-minded false narrative.

    Vlad LOVES TB12!!

  84. Vlad The Impaler Says:

OLine pass blocking was great. Run blocking not so much

  85. Vlad The Impaler Says:

    Also…for the 3rd time now:

    Nelson was a game-changer!
    Jill Tryon was invisible

  86. Joe in Michigan Says:

Vlad: You know something about lazy failures, as your posts prove, AFTER A TREMENDOUS BUCS VICTORY! PLAYOFFS! 🏴‍☠️

  87. Tap-Out Says:

We still have whiners….and we did WIN today and we the NFC SOUTH DIVISION CHAMPS …under the leadership of Todd B and B Leftwich! Now ya’ll can continue to carry that HATE!

  88. Vlad The Impaler Says:

    @Zwak

    Spot on. Agree 100%

  89. D-Rok Says:

Don’t forget Godwin; 9/9 for 120 yards. Our injured tackles did a remarkable job blocking.

Geez we had THREE dropped INT’s by the D. They held the Kitties rushing attack to a mere 74 yards. 74!!! Great job, D.

What a good win. I don’t care if anyone says it was ugly, or it was “just” the lowly Panthers – the Panthers have been on fire lately, but the Bucs brought a huge bucket of water and doused that fire.

    Huge win.

  90. Bucfan1988 Says:

I’m the FIRST to admit, thought the Panthers easily would win this game & the division, then the coaching house cleaning takes place.

My only question is WHY FFS DID THEY FINALLY DECIDE TO OPEN UP THE OFFENSE TODAY??

    Why not 15 weeks ago???

    That’s simply pathetic…

  91. Browsing from DC Says:

Was only able to catch highlights on my phone after the game was over but yeah, Old Man Brady is washed. Lol. Those were some beautiful dimes he dropped on ME13 (who looked to be playing super-inspired ball today…in other words, he played like ME13!)

Can’t wait to get home tonight to watch it.

Congrats Bucs! 3 straight playoff berths and Brady, 21 total in 23 seasons. That’s mind-boggling but his whole career is.

Can’t wait to see what this Camarda kid did. Sounds epic by Joe’s excitement. The young man is an athlete and not just a “kicker”.

  92. Vlad The Impaler Says:

Vlad needs 60 screen names for mind-control and mob-mentality.

But Vlad has a life and isn’t paid so just 2 will have to do for now.

  93. Uncle Urk Says:

One thing, big thing, I noticed today. Mike Evans was all business. Very little celebration. Just score give the ball to the fans and go back to the sideline. I loved it! Gholston and White should see that. Let’s stop with that nonsense, go out and punch people in the mouth. Walk away, come back and punch them in the mouth again. That’s my kind of football.

  94. Vlad The Impaler Says:

    @Uncle Urk

Yes!! ME13 had an epic game! LOVE the mentality

  95. Vlad The Impaler Says:

Be careful taking bad about Gholston and White though……Wimpy will call you a h8tr

  96. Winny Testaverde Says:

Switch back to Schrute, Vlad…he’s a hoot. Fact.

  97. JimmyfromNY Says:

Ha trolls!! How does the GOAT Johnson taste!! Lol just like I said, when he says it’s a championship week he elevates everyone!! Best of the best GOAT

  98. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Unbelievable

  99. Deeez NATZ Says:

Better than any drug you can take,LETS FUGGGGIN GOOOOO !!!!!Still high off this win!!!

  100. Deeez NATZ Says:

BRADY IS BACK!!! SIGH HIM LEPERCHAUNS!!

  101. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Bucs at the end tried to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, but they got it done!

  102. Kentucky Buc Says:

Normally I’d agree with the JTS takes but he did lead the team in tackles today.

  103. Bucobill999 Says:

Now all we gotta do is get rid of fans in section 113 to stop telling people that there yelling to loud during defensive series what a crock of shizz

  104. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

If Brady can stay on target like he was today who knows what they can do in the playoffs! That’s the best he’s looked all season and don’t tell me he had more time he’s the least sacked QB in the league! He was just on target today and he hasn’t been all year and he’ll be the first to say it! … Great game and good to see them finally hitting some kind of offensive cohesiveness right before the playoffs!! DON’T SIT THEM!! They just found a rythm and if you sit them you may lose it!

  105. TheBucsAnthem Says:

The whole team played their best game today……..

But Todd Bowles defense is what kept the game close

  106. Frank Pillow Says:

We did everything we could to lose this game. Everything. And just enough to win in spite of coaching!

  107. TheBucsAnthem Says:

The offense is truly killing this team….

HOW many time this team gotta get to the red zone and can never punch it in????

You ain’t beating nobody if you cannot score

  108. david Says:

Wow. As awesome as it was, they still barely won against the Panthers. They still needed their punter to save the day. At the end, they still could not run the ball, they still started out very slow… not trying to be negative but the talent on the team is there. If they ever put a full game together, they’ll win 49 to 13 against anyone

  109. tbbucs3 Says:

    DummyfromNY

Remember when you were hating on Mike Evans all season and cant get seperation?

  110. orlbucfan Says:

Well, ME13 finally proved he will be the first offensive player to be voted into Canton. We faithful have seen this for years. The mighty defense helped out big time. Every time wrinkle connected with Evans, he had plenty of time. Nothing miraculous about it. He will be gone this year. Yeah!

  111. JimmyfromNY Says:

Tbucs-He had a great game I’m not afraid to say it. He beat up back ups which he hadn’t done all season, every ball especially the last absolute dimes.

  112. NEfan Says:

Oral I love it, keep reaching Evan’s didn’t have to work all that hard to catch those passes.

The ST’s were horrible except the punter who made a big time tackle. Thompkins had NO blocking so he had to fair catch all game leaving the O with shatty field position. Tell me why again when your team is up 14 points we have to bite our nails down to the skin with under 2 min left?

  113. Ed Says:

Brady/Evans/Godwin/Murphy-Bunting/Gage/R White/Nelson/Gholston shined today. They played fantastic.

    Not Antoine Winfield’s best day.

Cade Otton will figure it out someday. His clutch catch in Q4 was impressive

I still think coaching made too many mistakes especially at end of half when the defense made stops and Bowles didn’t t use time outs to get ball back for Brady

He also hasn’t learned that Bucs in hurryup are unpredictable and Brady finds the right matchups.

The only credit I give Bowles is getting a great game out of the run defense

  114. D-Rok Says:

Yep, Defense Rules, I called a win like you. But, I didn’t have much faith they’d win because of the performance of the team the last 10 weeks or so.

Still, there IS talent on this team, even if they are washed up.

I said before the game, and it bears repeating: Don’t ever count a Brady-led team out, until they are out. And today showed just that.

    GO BUCS!!!

  115. Defense Rules Says:

D-Rok … Don’t know how many realize it, but the Bucs basically played today without any significant TE contribution & relatively little running game contribution. ME13 & CG14 were on fire & Brady was right on target with both of them.

Bucs won the TO battle 3-1, the TOP battle 33-27, and held the Panthers running attack to 74 yards. It wasn’t pretty, but our offense did score 30 points. What I was really impressed with was how our OLine manned up & protected Brady, giving him time to throw & our receivers time to get separation. Interestingly the Bucs only threw deep 5 times today. The first 2 were incomplete, but Brady hit on the next 3 … all for TDs. Still, only 5 deep throws today.

  116. Anonomous Says:

Defense,,weak link,,offence keeps going too mb
