Joe stated previously that the Bucs could look to upgrade as many as nine starting positions. If Joe can see that, surely Bucs coach Lovie Smith can see that.

And how that translates into “on the verge,” Joe just can’t quite figure out without the help of Jack Daniels. [read more]

There were plenty of real Bucs mysteries last year, and Joe’s revisiting the most interesting of the bunch. [read more]

The stat geeks are not impressed with Bucs DE Jacquies Smith.

It just blows Joe’s mind that year after year after year, no matter who runs the show, no matter who the shot-caller is, the Bucs urinate in the wind trying to find an edge rusher.

It is sad the team has yet to retain a replacement for Simeon Rice (who Joe thinks should be under serious consideration for the Pro Football Hall of Fame). For goodness sake, that was nine years ago. [read more]

During the glory years, Bucs fans, and the President, embraced a running back with a bad history.

Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy is a manbeast young Pro Bowl pass rusher who missed nearly all of last season courtesy of the NFL, a result of a North Carolina judge saying he was guilty of misdemeanor domestic abuse. (Chilling and sometimes humorous highlights here.)

But Hardy appealed and demanded a jury trial, and his case was thrown out today. [read more]

New Bucs OC Dirk Koetter wants a quick mind calling signals.

Bucs fans are trying to play Maxwell Smart to figure out who the Bucs will choose as their next quarterback come April 30 (if Tampa Bay drafts a quarterback).

One reason fans are trying to be sleuths (and the Bucs are doing their best with their own version of Enigma) is there is nothing else going on. [read more]
