Chucky and Jameis Winston exchanged interesting takes

Watching the debut of Jameis Winston on the famous Gruden’s QB Camp on BSPN2 last night was fun stuff for Bucs fans sick of dreadful quarterback play. (Isn’t that everyone?)

Two things of note were Chucky talking about the NFL practice field, and Winston taking what almost felt like a backhanded slap at the Lovie Smith regime. (more…)

Yes, the Interwebs went wild yesterday when Jameis Winston’s lawyer, David Cornwell, mentioned his client, while ready to play in the NFL, may not be mature enough to deal with the NFL lifestyle. (more…)

New Bucs might be ahead of returning Bucs

Perhaps nobody had a bigger learning curve in the Buccaneers defense last year than Alterraun Verner. Joe’s not going to use the term “lost,” but Verner struggled with the radical transition from his days in Tennessee.

So it’s no surprise that Verner is pumped up by Tampa Bay’s offseason moves in 2015. (more…)

Bucs brass was busy this week. Flying Air Team Glazer to Eugene, Ore., and then to Tallahassee and then back to Tampa, that’s a helluva two-day roll.

Why go through that? Well, the Bucs wanted to work out Marcus Mariota, and then with his workout fresh in their minds, tackle Jameis Winston just hours later. (more…)

Bucs fans concerned that Jameis Winston’s past off-field hiccups may bubble up again after if the Bucs draft him are not out of line.

Neither are antsy NFL clubs. (more…)

The reality is Doug Martin hasn’t been a quality NFL starter since 2012.

If Martin played quarterback, the Bucs would have moved on already. (more…)

Florida DE Dante Fowler, a hometown guy, knows what the Bucs will do April 30.

In case you haven’t heard, St. Petersburg native, Lakewood High School grad and Gators defensive end Dante Fowler is visiting One Buc Palace to get grilled today.

Tampa Bay has a terrible need for a defensive end who can breathe on a quarterback, so Fowler would be a terrific pick. That is, if the Bucs didn’t need a quarterback far worse. (more…)

Former Bucs QB Chris Sims talks Bucs defense.

It is a horrible, frightening thought for Joe; the Bucs don’t draft a quarterback at No. 1.

How could they?
