YaYa Diaby Talks To Joe (Briefly)

November 1st, 2026

Gives Joe an injury update.

In the first half, Bucs fans got an ugly scare.

Maybe the hottest Bucs defender was YaYa Diaby. The Bucs’ outside linebacker was fresh off a three-sack performance at Carolina. Games like that make people money.

But in the first half of the historic Bucs game today, a 16-0 strangulation of the Dixie Chicks, YaYa left with a knee injury. He did not return.

Ugh! Just when it appeared YaYa broke out of his slump and might see the benefits of his labor in a couple of months, down goes YaYa.

Joe felt sick.

So as Joe entered the Bucs locker room today after the game, YaYa was exiting. He didn’t appear to have any limp of significance. He was not using any sort of apparatus to help him walk; no crutches or cart.

And YaYa patiently waited in line to grab his postgame snack.

Joe walked up and began chatting with YaYa, who was in great spirits. That’s unusual for a guy who missed half a game with a knee injury.

YaYa didn’t give Joe any specifics at all about his injury. Not what it was. Not how it happened. But Joe did ask YaYa if he’s going to miss much if any time. Here was his on-the-record response to that question:

“I shouldn’t,” YaYa said.

So there you have it. Now this doesn’t mean the Bucs won’t hold out YaYa, just in case.

Eyeballing YaYa and hearing him speak, it doesn’t appear his knee injury is major.

If there’s any question about his knees durability I would imagine they would hold him out next week at Chicago and then he has a bike week. Sounds like he’s definitely good to go after that.

Still not sold on Baker Mayfield. Bucs will have to open up the offense against da Bears.

If nothing else, yaya is a warrior. Plays though a lot.

Jason Licht, Todd Bowles and yes, the Glazer’s, are proceeding with kicking the living shlt out of JBF and their legions of supporters. Saw this one coming from a mile away. Credit to the Sage and Lee for their votes of confidence with their predictions but I can’t help worrying about Steve.

Steve’s a$$ is red, that’s true. But’s not nearly as red as the a$$e$ Canales and Stefanski are marching around with right about now.

    DEEFENCE!!!

Did the Bucs close a deal to trade him during the game?

Hey, that’s why having David Walker being able to walk off the sideline and give you value, is valuable.

Wouldn’t even be mad to hear they pulled Yaya for the sake of precaution with the condition of the game field and the way things were playing out on defense.

  9. Debbie Says:

I was glad to hear that YaYa is ok for the most part. But Joe does not have x-ray vision, and the fact is, someone recognized the field conditions could do tremendous damage to the lower extremities, and YaYa was pulled. Doesn’t matter if it was for injury or an abundance of precaution from a twinge during practice. An ounce of prevention… you know the rest.

    Time to Sign Tyreek!!
