MVP Chase McLaughlin

November 1st, 2026

The sweet smell of perfection can be found in the Buccaneers locker room. No, it’s not an odd body odor fetish.

Buccaneers kicker Chase McLaughlin is a perfect 19-0f-19 on field goal attempts this season. He made three today in wet conditions during the Bucs’ 16-0 blanking of Arthur Blank’s Falcons.

Notice how the Falcons missed their opening-drive field goal from 53 yards? That was former Bucs kicker Nick Folk doing the honors. If Atlanta makes that kick, perhaps it’s a different ballgame.

McLaughlin made kicks of 46, 34 and 42 yards.

Back in 2023, his first Bucs season, McLaughlin made 29 of 31 field goals (93.5 percent), a franchise record. He also was perfec on extra points.

It seems McLaughlin is back on a record-breaking path. One could argue he’s been the Bucs’ most lethal weapon.

nick folk flopped out hard here in tampa…

he couldn’t kick it straight or for distance while a buc…

amazing he’s somehow revived his career…

a lot of kickers come to tampa to die…then they bounce to another team for a unexpected revival…go figure…

you can literally create a decent sized list of these dudes

Tampa has earned a kicker like this! All those years of just trash and wasted draft picks it’s well deserved! Great seeing him do so well, but it sure would be nice to only see him doing extra points because we’re scoring so many TD’s

  6. adam from ny Says:

of course mclaughlin was not in need of a revival…

    he’s an ice cool killer……………the best…!

  7. LFGBucs Says:

Good article Joe. He is becoming a legend. Most fans only seem to remember the ones that kickers don’t make.

Chase is a stud as far as kickers go.

Remember when we went YEARS without a reliable kicker?

Folk missed the first one today and the Falcons had two other chances in the first half to kick it, but didn’t have confidence in him. Could have been 9-9 at the half.
McLaughlin is unquestionably the MVP, followed closely by Bucky and the entire defense.

Sure Joe, you’re just the guy that’s fond of saying players are being sniffed though…….

  15. Debbie Says:

Once again, Chase scored the most points. Great job Chase! Great job defense! A fun game to watch. Hope Baker did not alter the healing on his thumb, with all that blocking. We need him once he heals properly to throw those darts again.

    Automatica gramatica McLaughlinata!!

He was the difference maker for the Bucs. Moving the ball was a big challenge due to the deluge of rain. They are balling despite terrible field conditions. One thing is apparent for the Bucs, they are putting the NFL on notice – we will run- run-and keep running until you stop us.
They are playing smash mouth football. Their identity is to run and throw occasionally to keep a defense honest.
It appears they’ve found their formula to win back their division title and possibly win some playoff game.
