The Pick Should Be Brian Burns

Monday, April 15th, 2019

Simeon Rice 2.0?

Sean Sullivan happens to be one of the biggest dratniks of any Bucs fan Joe has met. Sullivan is the general manager at Bill Currie Ford, just a couple of punts up the road from the Den of Depression north on Dale Mabry Highway. The draft is not a seasonal thing for Sullivan, it’s a 365-day-a-year passion. When Joe bought his Ford F-150 from Bill Currie Ford this past weekend, Sullivan told Joe he had watched his recordings of February’s NFL combine four times already. So Joe thought it would be cool if Sullivan typed a few stories about draft prospects. Here is his first pass attempt.

By SEAN SULLIVAN

It is simple: Brian Burns is the best edge rusher in the draft. Period. (more…)

Devin White = Patrick Willis?

Sunday, April 14th, 2019

Lofty comparison.

It sure seems like all the mockers believe the Bucs will ignore the pass rush in a top-heavy draft for pass rushers and defensive linemen and instead draft a middle linebacker. (more…)

“Where Are The Personalities?”

Sunday, April 14th, 2019

Joe spent time with a handful of “casual” Bucs fans last night, guys who watch about 90 percent of Bucs games and pay close attention to the team during the season and during key offseason times, but definitely not year-round.

Sunday, April 14th, 2019

Well over 1,000 fans were at the two-night, Bucs Uncensored/JoeBucsFan NFL Draft party last year, and everyone loved all the nonstop Bucs passion that flowed at Buffalo Wild Wings in South Tampa — indoors and outside. Derrick Brooks, Ira Kaufman and Brent Grimes in the house made it even more specials.

We’re doing it better and bigger this year. It’s free. The buffet is not.

All kinds of beer specials flowing!!!!

Promise Kept

Sunday, April 14th, 2019

Man of his word.

Joe has decided to document highlights of Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians captured when he coached Arizona during the inaugural season of “All or Nothing,” a “Hard Knocks”-like miniseries by NFL Films that follows a pro or college team throughout a season and is exclusive to Amazon Prime. Joe hopes these highlights will help Bucs fans learn what to expect from the 12th coach in franchise history. This series of posts will appear periodically until the days leading up to the draft later this month.

Bruce Arians is very quick to let a player know he screwed up. And Arians isn’t afraid to confess when he let the team down. (more…)

Friday, April 12th, 2019

A dreary Friday edition of the JoeBoltsFan podcast as Tom Lang breaks down why our Lightning blew a 3-0 lead Wednesday night (looking at you, McDonagh). No, it’s not time for a full on panic. But how many times must the lesson be learned? It’s a fair question. From Disappointment to a Quick Redemption? Let’s go Lightning, Let’s go Bill Currie Ford!

The Bucs And Connor McGovern

Joe wouldn’t bet on center Ryan Jensen being on the Bucs in 2020.

That’s just salary cap reality when you look at the Tampa Bay offensive line, as well as Jensen being older than Ali Marpet and Donovan Smith, and how Jensen performed last year. (more…)

Critical Schedule Release Coming For Bucs, Arians

Friday, April 12th, 2019

Has mental-breakdown experience

All the games count and teams have zero control over the NFL schedule, other than the ability to place a request that may be honored.

But next week’s NFL regular-season-schedule release will be very critical for this Bucs team, Joe believes. (more…)

The Calmer Arians

Friday, April 12th, 2019

Not always frothing in games.

Joe has decided to document highlights of Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians captured when he coached Arizona during the inaugural season of “All or Nothing,” a “Hard Knocks”-like miniseries by NFL Films that follows a pro or college team throughout a season and is exclusive to Amazon. Some highlights Joe hopes will help fans learn what to expect from the 12th coach in franchise history. This series of posts will appear periodically until the days leading up to the draft later this month.

In a previous story, Joe noted he could understand how Arians had health problems because the guy nearly had coronaries on the sidelines from blowing up so badly. (more…)

Popular NFL analyst no fan of new Bucs starting LB.
