Bucs OC Dave Canales.
When asked last week why it’s important for the Buccaneers to have a true quarterback competition, new offensive coordinator Dave Canales didn’t give the response fans might have expected. (more…)

“Kyle, you can do this. I did in 2001. Look at Brock Purdy last year. Be ready.”
The Buccaneers’ quarterback battle pits the 28-year-old “natural born leader” veteran of 71 starts and three teams versus the 25-year-old QB who can count his career pass attempts on two hands. (more…)

It’s official. This is open season on Baker Mayfield.
It seems like every national pundit feels compelled to take a potshot at a veteran quarterback trying to resurrect a once-promising career. Perhaps part of the reason is Mayfield’s refusal to play nice with the media on occasion. (more…)

Bucs QB Kyle Trask.
The last two years, Bucs quarterback Kyle Trask was the No. 3 (No. 4?) quarterback on the roster. In just three months (maybe two), he could be the starter. (more…)

Bucs GM Jason Licht.
Joe recently shared a story from good ol’ follicly-challenged Billy Barnwell of BSPN. He mostly loved the magic that Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht used to keep so many key defensive pieces together this season. (more…)

What does Todd Bowles look for in the QB competition?
Despite what Pacman Jones may realize, analyzing quarterbacks and determining who will start takes a bit more research than watching one bad pass of an underwear football practice facing no defense — in May! (more…)

Jamel Dean
Many Bucs fans remember the anger and fire that fueled The Gravediggers, the self-glossed nickname of the 2020 Buccaneers secondary. It was born from the NFL Network preseason ranking that said the Bucs had the worst cornerbacks unit in the league. (more…)

Baker Mayfield
The lunacy continues. (more…)

Quarterback chatter.
So an old interview with Bucs coach Todd Bowles has resurfaced and Joe noticed a sentence from Bowles sort of sheds light on not just why the Bucs may have signed Baker Mayfield, but why the Bucs had such a disjointed offense last season. (more…)

Still a mystery.
Last year Bucs coach Todd Bowles drove fans bananas. (more…)

Connecting dots.
Joe ran across a mind-blowing stat yesterday. And Joe is trying to figure out what this means for the Bucs. (more…)

More Bucs chatter.
Joe has a strong feeling there will be one of two reactions by Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht when the 2023 season comes to a close. (more…)
Fantasy football players know Mike Evans and Chris Godwin were not the tandem you wanted on your team last season.

Antoine Winfield Jr. is returning to the land of immortals.
It’s exalted territory, otherwise known as center field. It’s the place Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Ken Griffey Jr. and Mike Trout called home. It’s where Ed Reed and Brian Dawkins launched their Pro Football Hall of Fame careers.
You should have seen the grin on Winfield’s face this week when he talked about returning to the land of giants after a brief experiment engineered by Todd Bowles. (more…)
