How would you like to be pushing Buc season tickets right now?
Those poor saps in the ticket office are trying to drum up support for a 5-11 club that barely made an early ripple in the free-agent pool.
The Bucs have pushed Beau Allen and Chandler Catanzaro out front and we can only assume that Mitch Unrein is next up at the podium. In reality, the past two days delivered one gut-punch after another for a fan base frantically seeking a reason to believe in this organization. [read more]
Personnel gurus weigh in
Joe expected to be writing about free agency happenings right here but, well, the Bucs aren’t interested in shopping for the best NFL players.

Alex Okafor will keep hunting Jameis Winston
He visited Tampa Bay yesterday, and then he went running back to the NFC South champions. [read more]
It’s coming.
The edge rush of the Bucs is such an embarrassment, it is now becoming a joke. [read more]
Joe is virtually speechless because the Bucs have fully ignored their three most critical needs thus far in free agency.
Joe also senses Bucs fans are more emotionally distraught than others realize.
Available defensive ends? Outside of one talented yet injury-prone project, nothing there. Running backs? All but an empty tray. But corners, there are still a few solid veterans available as Joe is typing this here post.
Bang it here with comments all day if you can figure out if you seem to care more about filling craters on the roster than the braintrust at One Buc Palace apparently does (or does not).

The Bolts endure a disastrous Tuesday but are still in good position to make their mark in an all-important Saturday matchup with Boston. Plus: It’s time to have that talk about the Bolts. Complacency can get the better of them sometimes. What does it mean and who takes the blame?
Joe is so pumped to deliver you the new JoeBoltsFan podcast with Tom Lang, lifelong Lightning fan, Clearwater native and personality at ESPN Tallahassee.
You might know Lang from The ScuttleBucs podcast, but do not fear, Lang knows his beloved Bolts inside and out.

“”Swaggy, I said ‘attack’ not ‘stop for a snack.'”
Many Bucs fans — and some media — run around convinced the Bucs are preparing to transition to a lot of 3-4 defense.
Those people haven’t been paying attention. [read more]
Why not?
It seems there is a love connection out there in the NFL and both parties don’t know it yet, but should. [read more]
Money talks, and there’s a good chance it’s a current subject of discussion among general manager Jason Licht and veteran Bucs defensive end Robert Ayers. [read more]

Bucs castoff cashes in
UPDATED: 6:01 p.m. – As Joe has said and written many times, nobody writes a soap opera like your Buccaneers.
For this one, first consider that head coach Dirk Koetter last year said O.J. Howard was a fresh version of Marcedes Lewis, the 12-year Jacksonville tight end who is still in the league. [read more]

Embraced by the Raiders
Frankly, Joe’s simply posting a picture and a few words here about this accurate nonsense.
Good luck, Doug Martin, who returns to his hometown Raiders at 29 years old.
Good luck, Chucky, whose film study of Martin over the past two years must have been accompanied by consumption of hallucinogens.

Buc fans asked for a few home runs. I asked for some doubles.
But as free agency headed into Day 2, One Buc Place has generated only a bunt single or two. A lot of talented players have been signed by competitors while Jason Licht goes shopping with a restricted credit card. [read more]
Bucs pass
Yes, there really was a young pass rusher on the market this week, a guy younger, more productive and presumably better than the 30-year-old journeyman the Bucs signed yesterday, Mitch Unrein. [read more]
Last night, per several reports, the Buccaneers were courting and interviewing Ravens free agent center Ryan Jensen.
So it’s fair to assume Jason Licht wants to beef up the gut of his offensive line. [read more]
