Your Hall of Fame voters lost all credibility not voting for Bill B…. there’s no excuse for that travesty.. this makes the Hall seem meaningless
Ira voted for Belicheat. Mentioned that many weeks ago. It is a travesty, though. Ridiculous. –Joe

Who is this Ira person and why does it matter what he says?
Great question! Ira is in his 50th year in sports media. He jumped into NFL coverage as a Giants beat writer in 1979. He then moved to Tampa in 1985 to cover the Buccaneers full-time, in addition to writing NFL features. He’s been in town ever since, including 25 years at The Tampa Tribune. Ira became Tampa Bay’s Pro Football Hall of Fame representatives around 2005 and (Joe’s working on the data) it seems Ira’s representations and presentations for Hall finalists have yielded more Hall of Famers than any presenter in modern history. They include NFL Films founder Ed Sabol, Ira’s first “W” at the Hall, and Sabol was a longshot. Ira joined JoeBucsFan.com before the 2016 season kicks off. You can also hear him weekly on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio through football season on their signature afternoon drive show.

Ira is the sage of Tampa Bay, the hall of Fame whisperer, the press box professor the custodian of Canton.

Great show.
I’m glad to hear there’s one logical Joe in the building. This isn’t about if you like Baker or not, it’s about business. And it’s not smart to guarantee future money unnecessarily. And you’re doing it because of the imaginary threat that that person will charge you a lot of money. Its funny when you think about it. You don’t have to pay and there’s cheaper and better options to choose from.
And btw going 2-7 down the stretch is inexcusable for ANY qb. Insert any name.
In 2014, Eli Manning lost 7 in a row in midseason. In 2015, he closed 2-7 down the stretch after a good start. Giants went 11-5 a year later with an offense that had fallen off. The record is only one element when evaluating a QB. Joe could offer other examples of quality QBs. Matt Ryan marched the Falcons out of the playoffs, still in his prime and having one of his best statistical seasons, with a five-game losing streak that extended into Dec. of 2018. –Joe
If the Bucs don’t do much in FA then that’ll tell you what the owners think about the upcoming season. The fact that they kept Bowles tells me they have low expectations. And I get it, in the NFL every now and then you need a high draft pick to reset.
There’s no buzz around the Bucs. No energy. No excitement. Just blah. I don’t understand how bringing back the majority of the roster with the same HC makes things better. The new OC isn’t horrible but the Bucs had Coen and were 1-and-done in the playoffs.
We’ll see what happens…

Yeah when a coach says we coached all we can it’s on the players he lost the team how you run that back is beyond me but here we are not expecting much out of this defense with the same coach prove me wrong Todd please prove me wrong I welcome it.

ira talking all thing coconut… 🙂
i was pretty impressed with the zac presser…he is way ahead of grizzle…grizzle seemed like a premature ejaculation at the podium every single time…he was that bad…lol…his mouth and brain were clearly not in sync…
robinson did remind me a lot of coen in personality and style…and energetically as well…
also immediately he reminded me of coen when he walked out in what appeared to be a purple sports coat…
i was like “wtf is wrong with this dude”
purple sports coat…
it reminded me of when coen appeared in that ridiculous pink sports coat…i started thinking “what is up with these dudes and these fruitcake coat choices”…
then later i realized it might just be a light blue of some sort – and my computer was just off in color…
i really hope it was blue…lol…
anyway the presser was pretty darn good…mentally he seems ready…unlike grizznoid

The best part of the podcast was the Cosmo stories.
Please give us a weekly update on the comings and goings of Ira’s puppy dog.
Did Ira name him based on the Seinfeld character? Yes, he did. –Joe

Me and old Junebug hunkered down through this cold spell and our favorite podcast is just what the doctor ordered. I hope our moderating Joe is right and an extension of Mayfield gets done soon. I’d hate the powers that be to blow up a good thing. 2-7 though, I can understand the Sage and “end rush” Joe feeling a bit of trepidation about that. Anyway, Joe’s, concerning Cosmo. And food. The important thing is not to look the little guy in the eyes.

The whole “If Todd Bowles didn’t ask Robinson about how the Falcons torched his defense, he should be forced to resign” kind of felt like making up something to be mad at him about. We’ll never know either way so why get worked up over it?

The people want to know what Ira saw (or what remarkable memory) there is that has prompted him to utter the phrase “no great shakes” in two consecutive podcasts, when “this discerning ear” has never heard him use the colloquial expression before!
Nearly episode, I lament that much of the content between substantive pericopes of news is repeated phrases, quotes, or references from previous pods—but this is juicy before it becomes trite! Let’s dive deeper!

If the glazers extend Baker this offseason it will continue the trend of bad extensions: Luke (injury prone), Zyon, AW and Todd Bowles.
I think baker is great. But he has to prove it next year.

Great podcast and futuristic. Yea, we sure get a voice on here. Some of the comments crack me up daily.
Baker’s contract will be the talk for awhile. Since they gave Zac 3-years, thinking they will give Baker most of the money. Happy for Darnold. Who knew this would all turn out like that.
Cosmo – AB! Too funny. Hey, AB did help us get a Super Bowl! Super dog!
