Eyeing Pat Mahomes

May 15th, 2020

Bucs CB can’t wait to face.

When the 2020 schedule was released last week, Bucs corner Sean Murphy-Bunting circled one game.

Thanksgiving Weekend hosting the world champion Kansas City Chiefs.

And why is that? Well, SMB wants to pick off a champion. As a rookie who started 10 games last year, SMB led the Bucs in interceptions with three. Wednesday in a Zoom conference call, SMB was asked who he looked forward to playing most and what quarterback he most wants to pick.

“The Chiefs are definitely a team I am looking forward to playing. The Saints, both games. I am looking forward to all the conference games,” SMB said.

“But the quarterback I want to pick off the most is Pat Mahomes. You know, he’s a Super Bowl-winning quarterback. He’s young. He’s electric so he makes a lot of big plays. Picking him off obviously would be a big deal, a big thing. So that is something that is something I am definitely trying to do.”

If Tom Brady is the face of the NFL, Mahomes, the beer-guzzling-in-public, Super Bowl-winning superstar is Brady’s heir to the throne. As SMB said, Mahomes is “electric.” Whenever the Chiefs are on national television, it is must-watch TV.

Some Bucs fans might revolt after a Bucs player says he wants to challenge himself against the best. Usually, that is bulletin board material.

No need to fear.

Before the 2015 season, Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, said on NFL Network, without blinking an eye, that he looked most forward to facing J.J. Watt. Usually, Watt eats rookie quarterbacks for lunch just for practice.

Having a quarterback spout your name out seemed to be setting up Watt to go wild on Jameis.

Well, Jameis nearly outplayed Watt when the Bucs traveled to Houston. Watt was almost a non-factor with five tackles and three hits on Jameis but no sacks. Jameis completed 17 of 36 passes for 261 yards in a 19-9 loss where Bada Brindza gagged away the game with three missed field goals and a missed extra point. (Yeah, a kicker blew a Bucs game. Broken record, Joe knows.).

Bada Brindza would miss two more field goals the next week against Carolina and his NFL career was over. This indirectly led to the hallowed Roberto Aguayo era.

On paper we look “almost” as good as Kansas City Chiefs. It will be a fun game to watch.

Easy there…careful what you wish for.

What am i missing here. Sorry if my math is off

    3 missed field goals is 9 points. 9 plus 9 equals 18
    So still lose 19-18

And how do you outplay someone when you are 17-36 for 261 yards in a 19-9 loss? 1 INT. The offense scored 0 whopping points in the second half. Plus crappy brindza did hit a rarely completed 58 yarder …still Thats a stretch?
But i get it. Its americas probowler we are talking about
    😂

According to Ndog Jamies Winston >>> Pat Mahommes, Mahommes is better because he have a good team which Jamies never had

I’m with Buc50: Be careful what the heck you wish for SMB; I think you simply need to: DO YOUR JOB……and not worry about who’s on the other side …… you need to cover receivers, not quarterbacks and Chiefs are pretty darn strong when it comes to receivers…

Man I feel sorry for chiefs fans it’s sad. They are waiting on Mahomes to develop with no running gm and a weak defense. Oh wait I was thinking about the Bucs Mahomes actually thrives with these situations without throwing a ton of ints who could have thought.

Interesting to see how an article about SMB & Mahomes turned into Jameis & Kickers…..

    ………….

If I am not mistaken 17 of 36 is 47%. Hard to win that way. Shouldn’t have to rely on a kicker when your Pro Bowler, America’s QB, Crab stealing, Sexual harrassing, BB gun toting, squirrel killing, profanity shouting, alleged rapist can only complete 47% of his passes
