The Lost Decade of Bucs football is getting smaller and smaller in the rearview mirror. (more…)
The draft is over and the Bucs did not bag a strong edge rush prospect. (more…)
Joe understands grading a draft less than 24 hours after the draft is borderline irresponsible. But Joe firmly believes in the simple business model made famous by Sam Giancana when he was asked about the Chicago racket’s brick and mortar operations.
“We give people what they want.” (more…)
The Slimy Saints are the only legitimate threat to the Bucs defending their NFC South crown, so Joe was paying attention to the New Orleans draft. (more…)
Flash poll posted at 9:23 a.m. Poll closed at 3:07 p.m.
Look, Joe is not about to pile on like so many Bucs fans who, triggered by ugly memories of the past, freaked out because Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht drafted a punter in the fourth round. (more…)
Probably the coolest story of the Bucs draft weekend was the promise to Sam Houston State cornerback Zyon McCollum who the Bucs selected in the fifth round. Or was it a promise? (more…)
Back in March of 2019, Bucco Bruce Arians shocked the world (or at least Joe) and declared punter Bradley Pinion the Bucs’ most important free agent signing of the offseason. (more…)
The fullback is an endangered NFL species. That’s partly because it is a passing league. (more…)
It seems Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht and his staff love Washington. The university. (more…)
What would a Bucs draft be without at least one SEC player chosen? (more…)
Joe’s always in favor of drafting a player molded by Minnesota Golden Gophers head coach P.J. Fleck. (more…)
How refreshing to hear an NFL Scouting Combine story that doesn’t involve a general manager blowing smoke or a head coaching planting nonsense in the media to confuse other clubs. (more…)
For those playing the NFL Draft home game, the Bucs’ only picks remaining are in Round 7.
They have three of those following today’s trades.
Tampa Bay picks in the middle of the round at No. 235, followed by No. 248 and No. 262, the second-to-last pick in the draft.
The Bucs need to upgrade their special teams coverage talent, and Round 7 is a good place to do that. That’s where the Bucs landed hair-on-fire linebacker Grant Stuard last year and guys like Dakoda Watson and Cody Grimm in years past.
General manager Jason Licht was dealing again this afternoon, this time going in attack mode for a fifth-round cornerback/special teams ace. (more…)
So the Bucs have a new cornerback as a result of trading up to the No. 157th pick (third pick in the fifth round) and snagged San Houston State corner Zyon McCollum. (more…)
Joe knows there is all sorts of howling from Bucs fans who are angry with Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht for not drafting (insert a name) from Georgia. Well, he corrected that today. (more…)
So this is pretty interesting to Joe. (more…)
Bucs fans wanted one and now they have one. A big tight end. (more…)
The Bucs seem to find players from the PAC-12. And maybe leaning on that history, the Bucs began the third day of the 2022 draft by selecting Washington tight end Cade Otton.
Here is what Joe wrote about Otton this morning in a piece about players the Bucs may target:
Cade Otton, TE, Washington: Big guy (6-5, 247) who was a four-year starter. Averaged 14.3 yards per catch as a junior. Last year a combination of a bum foot, missing two games due to COVID protocols and having godawful quarterbacks stunted his numbers.
