Bucs Dealt Their 2023 Fourth-Round Pick

April 30th, 2022

Jason Licht is wheeling and dealing.

General manager Jason Licht was dealing again this afternoon, this time going in attack mode for a fifth-round cornerback/special teams ace.

Again Licht was trading with Jacksonville, his partner on Thursday night when the Bucs coughed up the No. 27 overall pick to the Jaguars in exchange for their first pick of the second round (No. 33 overall) plus the first pick this year in Rounds 4 and 6.

Today the Bucs gave Jacksonville their Round 4 pick in 2023 in exchange for a fifth-rounder this year that just became cornerback Zyon McCollum out of Sam Houston State. And the Bucs also got a Jacksonville seventh-rounder this year, No. 235 overall.

Last pick in 4th next year after we win the Super Bowl

Our 4th rounder next year will be late, so almost a 5th rounder anyway. In exchange, we got a 5th and a 7th this year. Fleeced Jax… again.

  5. Guzzie Says:

I’ve seen multiple mocks Zyon doesn’t make it out the 3rd

  6. Rod Munch Says:

It’s surprising the Bucs were able to squeeze that extra 7th out of the Jags, they got good value on that, unlike the other deal with the Jags were it felt like the Bucs should have gotten more value.

In any case, they need to win now, and if they think a D2 corner can help them win now, then it’s a good pick.

  7. HC Grover Says:

Do we have to pay the Jags for this? Maybe Licht has somethin on him?

  8. Bruce Blahak Says:

Killin it! Screaming for mccollum at camarda pick but they got em anyway.

  9. Mike Says:

    Nice move Bucs!

  10. Allbuccedup Says:

The CB pick was ok but Jax got the best of it. Like Buffalo did in round 2. Licht is anything but a shrewd deal maker. I would have picked a tight end later. Looks like Jason’s doing all the picking and Bowles is just along for the ride.

Allbuccedup what team are you the GM for?

  12. James Says:

Go away! You’re not happy with anything. We don’t care what you would have done.

Good deal. Hopefully this late round CB turns out to be a diamond in the rough.

  15. Beeej Says:

The TE we got was the last of the top 5, kinda like Wirfs was the last of the 4 A-lister tackles that year

  16. Colin in Canada Says:

Bucs are prob going to get some compensatory picks next year so dealing a little k next year is not a bad move
