The Vikings have adapted quickly to the defense of first-year head coach Mike Zimmer
If Tampa Bay loses at home Sunday to a banged up and struggling Vikings team with a rookie quarterback, then there might not be a Bucs fan alive who will emerge with a good attitude.

Yes, Joe has written off the season. Mock him if you will, but there is no way Joe can soberly look at the Bucs and concoct a scheme in which their pathetic play can somehow flip a switch and string together enough wins to play in January.
Sure, Joe wishes that could happen but Joe doesn’t reside in a Timothy Leary daze of narcotics. (more…)

A Lovie Smith castoff is thriving
Watching cornerback Crezdon Butler make his first career NFL start last week (yes, Butler is on the Buccaneers, in case you didn’t know) and split time with rookie Brandon Dixon, really had Joe thinking about how thin the Bucs are at the position. (more…)

Former rock star general manager Mark Dominik talks Josh Freeman, Mike Glennon and the Bucs.
One thing lacking from this year’s club is drama. If you have a losing season, a terrible season, and you don’t have drama, then you have apathy.
Apathy is the worst thing for any sports team. It means fans have checked out, and that means some may never return. The Bucs are on the verge of apathy. (more…)

Reports claim Bucs were in the mix for WR Percy Harvin as he was traded by Seattle to the Jets.
Yes, it was a stunner that a defending Super Bowl champion in the throes of a playoff run would trade one of its best receivers.
Even more stunning? A team that will likely fire its coach and is out of the playoffs would trade for such a wide receiver. (more…)

Since the season opener, Michael Johnson’s numbers have really fallen off.
The Bucs jumped into the deep end of the 2014 free agent pool when the dinner bell rang to open the signing period. There was Bucs general manager Jason Licht waving around Team Glazer’s checkbook high in the air.
After six games and a pitiful 1-5 start, many of the free agents overlord of football operations Lovie Smith signed off on have been a big swing and a miss. (more…)

“Geez, 14-29? I never got my rear end kicked like that at home. Jiminy Christmas!”
When Raheem Morris took over, he made a pointed effort to “embrace the heat.” In other words, use the Florida heat to the Bucs’ advantage and make opponents melt. That blew up in his face when the Cowboys totally boatraced to open his regime
Guess someone forgot to tell Morris it gets hot in Texas, too. (more…)
