The Bucs developed mental toughness in 2016, but as Clint Eastwood said to Hillary Swank in Million Dollar Baby, “girlie, tough ain’t enough.”
This franchise is now a $1.5 billion baby, according to Forbes, and let’s not forget Tampa Bay also made strides on the soft side en route to a 9-7 record.
After their first winning season since 2010, Buc players were quick to credit team camaraderie as a vital ingredient in their success. (more…)

John Lynch is standing at the Canton crossroads.
As one of 15 modern-era finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Lynch’s case will be heard in front of the Selection Committee for the fourth consecutive year.
And because the Class of 2018 is loaded with first-time eligibles like Ray Lewis, Randy Moss, Brian Urlacher and Ronde Barber, this is Lynch’s best shot to join Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks in the Hall. (more…)

Making the Pro Bowl is a nice honor. Making the All-Pro team is more challenging — and ultimately more rewarding.
It’s the difference between a People’s Choice Award and an Oscar.
As one of 50 media members on the Associated Press panel, I submitted my All-Pro ballot earlier this week. The AP will reveal the winners on Friday, but our loyal readers shouldn’t have to wait that long to see who your humble servant selected as the best of the best for the 2016 regular season. (more…)
