Your 2013 Buccaneers Schedule

April 18th, 2013

The first look at a complete Bucs season schedule is almost better than unwrapping a glorious new Christmas present. There’s nothing quite like the excitement.

Here it is!

Sunday, 9/8, 1 p.m, @Jets
Sunday, 9/15, 4:05 p.m., SAINTS
Sunday, 9/22, 1 p.m., @Patriots
Sunday, 9/29, 1 p.m., CARDINALS
BYE WEEK
Sunday, 10/13 1 p.m., EAGLES
Sunday, 10/20 1 p.m., @Falcons
Thurs., 10/24 8:25 p.m., PANTHERS
Sunday, 11/3, 4:05 p.m. @Seahawks
Monday, 11/11, 8:40 p.m. MIAMI
Sunday, 11/17, 1 p.m., ATLANTA
Sunday, 11/24, 1 p.m., @Lions
Sunday, 12/1, 1 p.m., @Panthers
Sunday, 12/8, 1 p.m., BILLS
Sunday, 12/15, 1 p.m., SAN FRANCISCO
Sunday, 12/22, 1 p.m., @Rams
Sunday, 12/29, 1 p.m., @Saints

Joe likes the schedule a lot. Aside from the two glorious night home games (blackouts be gone), on paper, the Bucs should be able to get out to a solid start.

Closing the season with two on the road has the potential to really test the mettle of the New Schiano Order. Hopefully, those games will mean something, which means Myron Lewis won’t be on the field, and LeQuan Lewis won’t be called off the couch to replace him.

Monday Nite? Wow and a home game against the Fins!

  2. Patrick Says:

We should have more primetime games…….NBC never includes us on Sunday night!

  3. canadianbuc Says:

    2 primetime games!!!!!!!

  4. Stephen Says:

    Early bye-week again?

    No Sunday Night game?

At least there is an appearance on MNF and the potential of some late season matchups to be flexed. Week 15 and 17 in particular as long as we don’t blow it again late this year. I mean if some things fall the Bucs way (and some help at CB arrives on a private erm…. jet) then yeah, 11-5 is a legitimate possibility.

  5. Fear The Glow Says:

The only thing I wanted to see on this schedule was the Jets, Pats and Seahawks games in the first half of the season. We shouldn’t have any REAL winter games. Nice!

  6. BOb Says:

I like having our bye week before we take on the eagles. We might just need that extra time to get used to that new eagles offense

  7. Joe Says:

    No Sunday Night game?

That was a no-brainer but if the Bucs make a playoff run, having a game flexed to Sunday night is a possibility. Gotta win games first.

  8. the_buc_realist Says:

    7-9 write it down folks!

    Patrick:

Joe would have feinted if the Bucs were on Sunday Night Football. That’s a no-brainer.

Sounds harsh but reality bites: Bucs are one of the least-favorite teams in the NFL with a losing record. There is no reason for the NFL to showcase the Bucs on a Sunday night. Remember: TV stations are in business to grab eyeballs. Until the Bucs start winning on a regular basis, Sunday night games are not happening.

  10. andres Says:

I got the bucs 9-6 going into the last game against the Saints Woooot!

  11. bucuoduckfan Says:

The only thing I don’t like is the early bye week. You can never predict when or who gets injured, but a later bye week lets the team heal up is a little more helpful.

  12. Vic Says:

Bucs go 8-8. Dominik gets fired right after season because Schiano wants full control. Butch Davis becomes puppet GM. … Mark it down.

  13. Killian Says:

9-7, possibly 10 win season if we get our act together. I can easily see us starting 1-3 with a lot of angry fans out there.

  14. kevin Says:

8-8, i see the bucs 7-7 going in to the last two games.

  15. Illuminati Says:

Eagles got hosed with three straight road games. Fortunately, that third one is against us, right after our bye.

I can realistically see us winning 10 games.

  16. Jason A Says:

I agree with most of you but im thinking 11 or 12 wins…We win in our division, we should be playoff bound

  17. Rrsrq Says:

Monday nite against the fins, love it, as a kid my dad took me to my first Monday nite game and I remember watching the Doug Williams led Bucs beat the Fins, wish he was here today so I could take him

  18. Fish Says:

Other than the early bye, you can’t ask for a much better setup than that…

  19. Macabee Says:

I think the two primetime games are great especially the MNF game that we should win. I’m not at all intimidated by our schedule depending upon the final make-up of our team. I’m going to wait until I see our team after the draft before I make a prediction. On paper though, I like our chances in the division this year! I think Revis or not could be a two or three game swing either way!

  20. OptimisTroll Says:

    14-2

  21. bucobruce Says:

I love this schedule, but I don’t like early bye-week.Are some of you stupid or you jus don’t know that much about football, the BUCS will have 11 or 12 wins 10 at the very least. Some of you ave great predictions like optmis and Jason .Bucs Super Bowl 2013.

  22. Andrew 1 Says:

wow, whens the last time we had Monday night game at home? its been to long. and now that we finally have one, this is awesome!!!!! Ive been looking forward to that game going on 2 years. this made my night.

  23. Joe Says:

wow, whens the last time we had Monday night game at home?

    2011.

  24. BigSombrero Says:

not a lot of optimism around for the Bucs next year. Im thinking we hit the 10 win mark. Having a full offseason and a year under the same coaching staff plus upgrades through draft/FA will make the difference. Heck we got 10 wins under Raheem with a much worse team.

    Im feeling it this season.

  25. Bobby Says:

    At least 10 wins. Playoffs.

  26. Andrew 2 Says:

Jaworski thinks we’ll beat the Niners at home…and Jason Taylor said he think we steal the Seattle game on the road. Interesting to see us getting so much love.

12-5 or 11-4 depending on whether we go 2-0 or 1-1 vs N.O.

  27. BigSombrero Says:

@Andrew 2: Where did you see that info from Jaws? Would like to see his take.

  28. Andrew 1 Says:

really?!? 2011? it feels a lot longer then that. im just siked we finally got one.

  29. Eric Says:

Uh oh, there are other professional football teams on the schedule.

    Doomed again.

  30. BOb Says:

love when people start throwing out their win-loss predictions……………its so cute!

  31. Gus Says:

Toughest part of the schedule will be weeks 7-9 short rest Atlanta then Panthers followed by going on the road to Seattle. If we break even with all the division teams and win the games against the eagles atlanta Miami lions and bills. We can make the playoffs

  32. fridgebob Says:

    Andrew 1,

It was against an Orlovski-led Colts team, IIRC.

  33. zam Says:

10-6, and nice pic, livens up an article about something as dull as a schedule.

  34. berserker Says:

Looks like we will be going undefeated this season. Let’s show the Jet’s what we did with the picks they wanted week one. Nice pic Joe

  35. bucobruce Says:

@ GUS,When we play Seattle they will we coming of a Monday night game, good news for us.

  36. BOb Says:

no fridgebob it was a curtis painter led colts team

  37. ElioT Says:

Who really knows how tough the schedule is and just what the h*ll will happen next year?

    @fridgebob

    Twas Curtis Painter I believe.

    Go Bucs!!!!

  38. Nate Says:

Looks like a 9-7 season to me..

  39. NJBucsFan Says:

    10 to 11 wins

  40. stevek Says:

Looks like it beter be playoffs in 2013.

    Go Bucs!

    Playoffs or bust!

  41. DC Says:

Tough to predict before the draft and we have all of our pieces in place, but tell me what you all think about this:

    1st 4 games: 2-2
Wins against jets and cardinals should come relatively easy. We usually split with NO, so Ill assume this will be a loss along with a tough loss in NE

    2nd 4 games: 2-2
Eagles and Panthers should be wins. Losses to ATL and a very tough SEA team (both away games)

    3rd 4 games: 4-0
Wins against MIA, DET, and CAR should come. The ATL game will be close, but we typically split with them so Ill assume this is a win.

    4th 4 games: 3-1
Bills, Rams, and Saints should be wins. San Fran is a possible win with them traveling a long way after playing Seattle the week before. I will count it as a loss though, as they are still a much more talented team.

The 1st half of the season, I have us going 4-4. Hopefully, a rough start until week 4 will not hurt our confidence. If we can squeeze out a win against either the PATS or Saints in these first few weeks, this should shape our season and give us a huge boost of momentum going into the bye week.

The 2nd half of the season, I have us going 7-1. This would show some serious improvement due to the fact that the past two seasons we have stunk it up in the 2nd half of the seasons. I know its a bold prediction, but 6 of our last 8 are EXTREMELY winnable games. Again, this is a pre-draft prediction, so many things can change. I see us winning 9-11 games which should be worthy of a wildcard spot if the latter happens.

    GO BUCS!!!

  42. Pete 422 Says:

Too early to make predictions. I’m going to wait until after the preseason to make mine.

  43. Dave Says:

Based on last year and a little improvement in defense, I see 9 wins………………… AT BEST.

Of course they can improve drastically on defense with a pass rush and find more consistency in the offense. If those things happen… then they can get to 10+ wins.

OF course if there is no improvement in either area and Josh stays wildly inconsistent then they could be looking 6-8 wins.

BUT I truly see improvements and more consistency coming and stability in the schemes with the same coaches. Those things lead to improvement, which equals 9 wins IMHO at this moment. I say that because for all we know some of the so-called good teams on the schedule can end up horrible and vice-versa.

  44. Dave Says:

    NICE on the SEATTLE game.
They have extra time prior to travelling because of a Thursday night game and Seattle has a Monday night game that week.

Plus the Bucs have extra time after the west coast travel because they follow it with a Monday night game

  45. fridgebob Says:

    BOb, ElioT,

    Close enough.
