More Sean Tucker Chatter
October 5th, 2026
More touches, says Todd Bowles.
Some touches weren’t good enough for KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles.
Last week, both besieged Bucs offensive coordinator Zac Robinson and Bowles admitted and confessed Sean Tucker needs more touches. Prior to yesterday’s game, Tucker had just as many carries as both you and Joe combined: zee-row.
Robinson proved to be a man of his word in the loss to the Packers yesterday. He got Tucker the ball three times. Tucker ran for 10 yards, including a two-yard touchdown.
Not good enough, Bowles said after yesterday’s game: “[The running backs] can be a little more involved as well, especially Sean getting the two short-yard plays. As warm as it was, we [have to] get them in the game a little bit more.”
Translation: Bowles believed the running backs may have been more productive late in the game had they shared carries to save wear-and-tear on a hot day.
Fair point. But Joe thinks that’s almost insulting to Tucker. He got production. Not great production but you know what, any sort of production with Robinson’s positively dreadful offense is good production.
Joe confesses it’s hard to write today about this poorly-coached, going-nowhere, low-energy, bland and boring, underperforming team where on one side of the ball a coach thinks Cade Otton is Antonio Gates and the coach on the other side of the ball is scared to attack (unable to attack?) an embattled quarterback with a porous offensive line.

Is Paycheck not able to walk over to Robinson and tell him to put Tucker in the damn game?
October 5th, 2026 at 2:08 pm
Wave goodbye to SMB they dragged their feet long enough for the Steelers to snag him off the practice squad. JOKE OF A FRANCHISE!!!!!!

October 5th, 2026 at 2:09 pm

I’m a lifelong follower of Dr Norman Vincent Peale
Especially, the power of positive thinking
With that said, there’s some positive news from this
Sean Tucker and Kenneth Gainwell bodies will be well rested
For the next administration

I don’t like to overreact. But too many examples to support firing Coach Bowles. Tired of the excuses that coaching needs to be better, effort needs to be better, we just didn’t execute, we aren’t using key players to their strengths, and now some phantom wind caused us to attempt a 4th and 11 with an undrafted QB in his first start versus putting the game on a highly reliable kickers shoulders at a distance that he can make. No blame there towards Jalon just reality of any new QB.
Gerald McCoy yesterday has also elaborated on first hand conversations that he has had with current players and summed it by saying they are coaching them to do things that aren’t going to work. Is that why we aren’t sering more consistent effort?
Let’s move on and get an Offensive Head Coach that knows how to make adjustments and be the thermostat to turn up the temps.
October 5th, 2026 at 2:17 pm
Look! Sean tucker didnt get alot of carries with Dave Canales, Liam Coen, Josh Grizzard and now Zac Robinson.
Sean tucker didnt even get a contract offer in FA. As a matter of fact he took a preseason pay cut.
But let me guess, all the bucs fans are right and the 31 other teams and countless scouts and coaches are wrong when it comes to evaulating sean tucker. Yea ok
October 5th, 2026 at 2:20 pm
The only chance that we have in this game on Thursday is to run the ball 25+ times. Ball control, eat the clock, and keep it away from the Cowboys. If we can do that and avoid turning the ball over we have a prayer
October 5th, 2026 at 2:21 pm
Queue the know-nots to come in and question “wHaTs tH3 BiG DeAl aBOut TncKer!?”
Stevie Wonder can see, y’all are just playing blind cause your stuck on stupid.
October 5th, 2026 at 2:21 pm
So I have a theory on the defense now. Todd doesn’t value the edge rush, why? He was a defensive back before. He believes in coverage more than anything which is why he doesn’t have the edge rushers, rush the passers. It’s stupid, to not have an edge rush we all know this. I can’t think of any other reason why he wouldn’t other than he’s scared of getting beat if the edge rushers lose (another db thing) so he would rather be safe than sorry (which still isn’t working). I don’t think he’s stupid. Ignorant and stubborn
October 5th, 2026 at 2:28 pm
Every offensive players touches are limited when the defense can’t get off the field on 3rd downs coach. Look in the mirror!
October 5th, 2026 at 2:34 pm
Thanks for continuing to bang out copy Joe. Hopefully we get a new offensive coordinator soon which will make the next few games interesting.
October 5th, 2026 at 2:36 pm
@ leopold stotch definitely stubborn!
October 5th, 2026 at 2:37 pm
I remember last season hearing an ESPN-analyst explain how Zac Robinson wasn’t using Bijan Robinson to his strengths and thus wasting his talent. At the time I was enjoying schadenfreude, now I’m starting to believe in karma.
It’s also the reason I didn’t like the signing but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, he hasn’t proven me wrong.

Godwin has more rushing yards than Tucker
October 5th, 2026 at 2:40 pm
@contepiscatelly The Bucs are 6th in the NFL in 3rd down defense by the way lol. At least do a quick stat search before posting

“can-we-get-rid-of-Licht-now-please Says:
October 5th, 2026 at 2:37 pm
Godwin has more rushing yards than Tucker”
Also in a 3-way lead for rushing TDs on this team, having played only 5 offensive snaps
October 5th, 2026 at 2:49 pm
“Not good enough, Bowles said after yesterday’s game”
Sounds like Bowels is setting up Zac the Hack to be Zac the scapegoat.
🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐. Baaaaa!
October 5th, 2026 at 2:55 pm
Just lose baby. 13 more games left for the chief regression artist.
I’m already planning the party. Hopefully a new HC and GM come January.
It’s going to be glorious! Great days are ahead my fellow Bucs fans.
We just have to fan it better until then!
October 5th, 2026 at 3:03 pm
Tucker isn’t the savior this is just grasping at straws at a ship that’s already on the bottom of the ocean. Time to look at the draft I guess go bucs
October 5th, 2026 at 3:19 pm
@OrlandoKevin. Phantom wind? You must have missed the tropical storm warnings with wind gusts up to 60 mph! Sorry. My bad. I looked it up. “ Slight breeze from the south south east gusting to SIX mph.” ANY current NFL coach who had a kicker with our leg would have taken the shot to tie! Odds were much better than us converting on 4th down with Daniels having to fight with unblocked rushers for every snap in the possession. Glazer boys would have probably given it a try, but not our Genius HC. He can’t be gone soon enough.

Who led the team in Yds last year?
October 5th, 2026 at 3:24 pm
All he does is score touchdowns.
October 5th, 2026 at 3:28 pm
All Tucker did was run into the back of his offensive lineman, and run through a huge hole. The idea that anyone thinks he’s a good runner is ridiculous. Bucky looked great, he should be getting as many carries as he can handle.
October 5th, 2026 at 3:37 pm
Look we are 0-4. Bucky (sadly) is under 4 yds per carry the last two games. Tucker has metal, cut him loose for a whole game.
October 5th, 2026 at 3:45 pm
It is not a question of a savior. The question is: Do you methodically use the best player available? Tucker’s resume is limited by lack of use. For example, Sunday. He carried three times in critical short-yardage situations. He was stopped once, but made the first down on the next carry; then he scored a touchdown on a two-yard run. This is, it seems to me, typical of his performances, few as they have been. His average could be higher, except touchdowns put a cap on the yardage. I fear that at times the team uses players to avoid bruising egos rather than to use the best players in right situations.
October 5th, 2026 at 3:45 pm
Why is it every time a player has the hot hand they stop their usage. What gives
October 5th, 2026 at 3:47 pm
The last paragraph says it all. Its been like this since midway last season.
I love the Bucs, I support the Bucs but if we are honest with ourselves it has come to a point that Bucs football is unwatchable.
Its tough to watch.
Its sad to watch.
Its bad football.
October 5th, 2026 at 3:53 pm
@jmarkbuc
Rashaad White led the team in rushing last year
October 5th, 2026 at 3:55 pm
Rod Munch is correct, and as a matter of fact on that 1 yd first down, if he wouldve had just peaked to his right he had a wide open lane for a TD.
October 5th, 2026 at 4:03 pm
Do ppl buy this crap? It looks like they do, there are some pol saying change the OC, that doesn’t fix anything, zero, nada. If they put anybody and i mean anybody to replace this scammbag, this team will start winning
October 5th, 2026 at 4:04 pm
Gainwell fu@# ing please! More touches please
October 5th, 2026 at 4:08 pm
@summers..There’s only so many tears you can cry!! Or can you! It hasn’t worked yet! Just turn off the TV ..
October 5th, 2026 at 4:26 pm
I have never got the Sean Tucker needs more touches thing. He obviously is not that good.
RBs are like QBs and Edge Rushers in this league. You have a handful of them that are elite talents in a tier of their own. Pretty much scheme proof, they will produce regardless of what is around them.
After that it’s just a pile of the same guy. A bunch of B players, who depending on the coaching, scheme and talent around them either look like A players or C players.
It’s why the Baker conversation is so ridiculous. He’s a C or D player right now but with good coaching and scheming we have seen 2 seasons worth of A players capability.
Having said all that, yesterday was a perfect opportunity to give Bucky a break and let Tucker pound the rock 20 times. Short week, keeps Bucky fresh for primetime and we wanna keep Bucky healthy for the 2027 regime.
October 5th, 2026 at 4:31 pm
Licht wants his draft picks to play, so he has some justification to resign them to large backloaded contracts, with it or not. Otherwise, he can’t brag about signing his own draft picks. Tucker, if give. The opportunity, might be the best 3 down back. But, we’ll never know till he’s on another team.
October 5th, 2026 at 4:43 pm
Don’t get me wrong Tucker has been flashy at times but why aren’t we using Gainwell? Paid him money to come to town but we don’t use him?? Why??🤷
October 5th, 2026 at 4:54 pm
“Having said all that, yesterday was a perfect opportunity to give Bucky a break and let Tucker pound the rock 20 times. Short week, keeps Bucky fresh for primetime and we wanna keep Bucky healthy for the 2027 regime.“
We gotta draft a bigger RB for him to compliment, Bucky isn’t a lead RB and he’s barely a 3-down RB. Bucky is still getting favored for his 2024 version and not who he’s been since, which is not very special at all.
October 5th, 2026 at 5:13 pm
I think we all want to vent about what needs to be fixed. I know I do. The problem for me is I’m saying the same thing over and over. That has no value to any one. I believe we all had high expectations that last years great disappointment would be corrected and we would win the division this year. Instead we actually look worse this year with better players. As much as it sucks for us imagine how much it sucks for the good talented players like Sean. The problem is clearly at levels above the players, let’s give our guys the benefit of the doubt and support them. I think we are in mourning and some of us are lashing out with anger. I:m angry because the season I envisioned seems gone and it’s early October. It’s a big bummer. Let’s mourn as a Bucs family and not lash out at our players. Especially at the stadium.
Glazers please sell our team.
Go Bucs
.
October 5th, 2026 at 5:24 pm
Zac is going to need to implement his best game plan for the Cowboys. It sure would be nice to turn the ship around and come out of this game at 1-4 !!
That would be huge !!
Go Bucs !
October 5th, 2026 at 6:49 pm
Cowboys wide receivers are not better than Bengals wide receivers and we covered them pretty darn well. The defense is playing quite well. It’s the offense that looks perennially out of sync. The O-line is giving up 11 sacks in 3 games! That’s just unacceptable. They need to start playing up to their draft positions and salaries. And Bredeson is having an awful time out there. Did he recover from last year’s injury? I dunno what in the heck is wrong with him.
