Five Things

October 5th, 2026

Dejected Keionte Scott (22) walks off the field with Jalon Daniels after the Bucs lost 17-14 to Green Bay Sunday.

Joe feels like vomiting seeing how the Bucs have circled the drain this year. So Joe’s trying to keep this short (and, it’s also pushing 2 a.m.). So grab your java and let’s get this over with.

It’s Over

Joe does not see the Bucs being led by KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles in 2027. That’s because Bowles can’t lead the Bucs any longer.

It’s not about Bowles hiring maybe the worst offensive coordinator Joe has seen for the Bucs since launching this website in 2008. It’s not about Bowles’ cockamamie idea that pressure from the edge is trivial and one of the most hit quarterbacks in the league cannot be touched by the Bucs because — altogether — Bowles doesn’t believe in an edge rush. It’s not about how Bowles has turned the Bucs into the black hole where edge rushers come to die.

It’s that Bowles has no answers. Not since the bye week last year has Bowles been able to find a way out of losing. Bowles also hasn’t been able to reach his team to play better.

Has Bowles lost the locker room? You tell Joe: The players claim they like and respect Bowles but do you see many players busting their tails for him? If so, please send Joe the video other than a play here or there (like Jacob Parrish’s pick yesterday).

Tristan Wirfs is one veteran busting his arse and living up to his reputation. Josiah Trotter, too, busts his tail.

The Bucs are in a 2-11 slide since beating the slimy Saints in Lincoln’s Tomb last fall. That doesn’t sound like a team that balls out for its coach, or a coach who has a knack for figuring out how to stop the bleeding.

If Bowles knew, the losing would have ended last year and the Bucs would have made the playoffs.

Hell, yesterday, Bowles was so scared of Packers quarterback Jordan Love, he fully gave up on taking advantage of a makeshift Packers offensive line and going after Love.

In Weeks 1-3, Love had been hit 31 times, per The Athletic. Yesterday? The Bucs touched him twice.

Most defensive coaches identify a weakness like that. And then seeing an opponent signing dudes off the street to play on the same offensive line, those coaches would slobber over themselves like a Doberman staring at a steak. Bowles? He turned tail, retreated and admitted yesterday the defense instead focused on coverage, not rushing the passer.

That’s enough in Joe’s eyes for someone in authority at One Buc Palace to inspire change.

And that’s what’s expected.

This 2-11 run smells a lot like the time when Raheem Morris lost 10 straight games and was relieved of his duties as a result. Despite Cade Otton’s protest, it’s just a matter of time before dudes start making business decisions and freelancing, or worse, giving up.

How Long Before Zac Robinson Is Sacrificed?

Joe has absolutely nothing against Bucs offensive coordinator Zac Robinson — except his inept offense.

Joe was thinking last night, this may be the worst Bucs offense since ill-suited Marcus Arroyo ran the Bucs offense for lousy Lovie Smith back in 2014. It was dreadful.

But Arroyo had an excuse. He had a joke of a quarterback, no running backs and full-blown stiffs on the offensive line. And he was throw into the job after the offensive coordinator had a medical emergency in August.

Right now, it only seems like Robinson got the job because he found a way to get Kirk Cousins to throw for over 500 yards on Bowles’ defense.

If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.

Robinson’s offense is so bad Joe thinks he will be a scapegoat, sort of like Mike Smith with the Bucs in 2018. Smith’s defense was truly horrific and before midseason he got the heave-ho.

Memo to the Bucs: Please do not hire any more coordinators from Atlanta.

The Rookie Quarterback

Jalon Daniels won’t quickly get people to forget Joe Montana. But given the circumstance, Joe thought Daniels played fine. Remember, he’s an undrafted free agent making his first start.

Did Daniels unseat Baker Mayfield as the starting quarterback? No. But he handled himself well. Sure, he made a few mistakes. That was expected for a guy making his NFL debut. He wasn’t facing the University of Arizona any more.

And Joe thought Daniels made some smart plays that Mayfield wouldn’t. Remember late when Daniels rolled left and just when it appeared Daniels had a chance to turn the corner he threw the ball away? Mayfield would have tucked the ball and ran and likely gotten stopped quickly.

Now the real challenge is Thursday night. Short week. Traveling on Wednesday. And Dallas now has a full game of tape on Daniels.

Lambeau Field South

When Joe got out of his truck roughly two hours before kickoff, hardly a red jersey could be found. Joe was in the middle of a Wisconsin invasion. surrounded by a sea of green jerseys. The Packers. And they packed The Licht House.

Joe is guessing 60-plus percent of the fans were Packers fans. The “Go-Pack-Go” chant was loud! Only thing missing was that Packers polka jingle dum-dum-dum… dum-dum … dum-dum.

And Packers fans, as much as it pains Joe to type, were more loyal than Bucs fans. It was a warm day yesterday. Pushing 90, maybe a bit higher. By the middle of the third quarter, the end zones and the east stands, lower bowl, club seats and upper deck, were solid green for the folks that stuck around. Bucs fans bagged it. Got up and left.

As dreadful as the offense played yesterday, Joe cannot blame them. Imagine having to tolerate that shiite offense and on top of it, coughing up $18 for a lukewarm Miller Lite? Barf.

Joe would like to know: Two sections of the south end zone are close to the east stands, and every half-arsed team that travels well, those sections are solid out-of-town jerseys. Who owns all those seats and where do they sell their tickets?

Buckle up, Bucs fans, in two weeks, instead of a green Titletown takeover, it will be a Steel City flood of black jerseys.

The fact so many Bucs fans sold their tickets to Packers fans was a message to Team Glazer: Enough is enough. Inspire change!

Coach Watch

So now we’re on Coach Watch after the Bucs fell to 0-4, and 2-11 in their past 13 games. For the Bucs to have a winning season, the Bucs will have to win 9 of their final 13 games. Does this look like a team that can pull this off?

The NFL has only had one team, the 1992 Chargers, make the playoffs after starting 0-4. They finished the season on an 11-1 streak to win the AFC West.

Do the Bucs look like a team that could win 11 of their final 13 games? This just in: Stan Humphries is not walking through the black curtains.

The Glazer family has only retained one coach after back-to-back losing seasons. His name was Chucky and he won the Glazer family a Super Bowl. That’s called street cred.

The Joe typing here is convinced Bowles is safe until January because the Glazer family has never dismissed a coach midseason. Joe doesn’t expect them to start now with a guy they greatly admire and respect. But one thing Joe has also learned through the years, just when you think you have Team Glazer figured out, they throw you a curveball.

So, who really knows?

Robinson? Joe can see him having to clean out his office before Bowles. And as bad as his offense is, Joe wouldn’t be shocked if Bowles made a move on him if for no other reason than to try to deflect blame and try to give his team a needed wakeup call.

So while Joe expects nothing to happen with a Thursday night game nexst, Joe still has antennae up, just in case.

Should’ve been fired after losing to the Rams in the NFCCG as D coordinator like the majority of fans wanted… 🤷🏼‍♂️

  2. Fishhawkbuc Says:

We will be making the trip to Dallas to witness yet another thumping. I’m looking forward to the steaks and BBQ prior to the rookie QB sacrifice.

  3. Bucnjim Says:

Great post, but didn’t the Bucs sacrifice the offensive coordinator last season? Robinson was picked & hired by Bowles, right? I’m pretty sure no one ever considered Robinson to be some kind of offensive genius. Bowles hired him because he wanted a ball control OC not a run and gun type throwing all over the field. His mistake was thinking his defense could take over games and the Bucs wouldn’t need to score much.

  4. RJ Says:

Another ex-Bucs coach seems to have put together a potent offense. That would be Carolina where they get their star WR involved early and often and take over a game.

  5. MadMax Says:

    Joe is on it.
I wish i could contribute more but i have a dying pet (kid, for those who know what its like)….somebody will tell me to make fun of it, shoot him and eat him, i know….anyways. all good…he’s crossing over later today….

  6. JustOneGame Says:

The sad thing is a majority of us peasants could see this coming from a mile away. Yet we were called “trolls” and told to go root for another team. Thursday night is going to be another truly embarrassing mark in Bucs history. Cowboys 45 Bucs 7.

Let’s start the potential head coach & qb articles. Yes, the Bucs will be drafting a qb with their top 5 pick. Sorry to inform the lost souls but Baker no matter how inflated his contract is, is not the answer.

  7. Bucnjim Says:

Sorry Max just had the do the same thing

  8. Beeej Says:

Well, can’t lay THIS on Baker

  9. Bucnjim Says:

Be careful picking against these 0-4 teams! They tend to upset their opponents as soon as you pick them. At the very least, they cover the spread or even ruin your survivor pool.

  10. FortMyersDave Says:

If the Glazers truly wanted change and wanted a winner, Bowles would have been “promoted” after the 2014 season to make room for Coen or at the least, he would have graciously “retired” at the end of last season. Seems like ownership is content to make a profit on the Bucs and only fire inept coaches at Manchester United.

Licht is accountable too, he has chose 2 years in a row to neglect getting a good backup for Baker and has made some very questionable FA signings, draft picks and contract extensions. Perhaps he is following the Glazers’ wishes but he has promised the fans a quality product and that is so far nothing but a big lie.

I think Bowles should be fired after this loss in Dallas or during the bye when his team is 0-9 or maybe 1-8. Some say firing mid-season will cause the coaching staff to focus on getting new jobs instead of coaching (Rick Stroud) but apparently they already are checked out and everyone knows Bowles is dead man walking so let’s just get it over with, fire the man.

  11. FortMyersDave Says:

Bucnjim, picking against Bowles on a Thursday game is a lock, even if Baker is not around to turn the ball over. Without Brady, Bowles is 3-8 under the lights. Easy money for a survivor pool or money line, Dallas even should cover the spread if it stays under 14, only way the Bucs cover is garbage time points like fellow bottom feeders Tennessee and the Chargers did yesterday. .

  12. Rod Munch is Wyndham Clark Says:

Thanks Joe! I just wish the Joes would have got here much sooner. I know you don’t think you have that much influence, but you do. Go Bucs (under a new captain) Go Joe!

  13. Christopher Schiefen Says:

The one difference is the Glazers didn’t pick Todd to be HC, Bruce did.

  14. Senor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

“Robinson? Joe can see him having to clean out his office before Bowles.”
    – – – – – – –
That will be interesting. It would not surprise me if he canned Robinson. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

But after Todd allowed last year’s Special Teams coach to continue to hang around until after the season after the horrific play they had, that would certainly show how desperate Bowles is if he fires him.

  15. Rod Munch is Wyndham Clark Says:

My favorite Hoe article in a long time!

  16. Permanently Moderated Says:

You guys need to let Canales and Coen go. They aren’t Bucs coaches and they’re not going to be. Move on.

  17. McBay Says:

Bucs will win their next 13 games and shock the world. Trust the process.

  18. Rod Munch is Wyndham Clark Says:

Glazers can send Bruce packing too though…but make no mistake, they picked him, and let him over stay his unwelcome.

  19. Darin Says:

There’s no more scapegoats. He tried that BS after last season. Plus he’s the one who hired the guy who had a bad offense in Atlanta. They are who they are.

  20. McBay Says:

13 game win streak begins Thursday night.

  21. Wayfarer Says:

I keep reading about how much the owners admire and respect Bowles. Why? Is the business not to win football games or is the organization a trying to be a feel good story. If they love him so much give him a fake front office job.

It makes absolutely zero sense to keep repeating this nonsense. This just shows how clueless the organization is.

  22. FortMyersDave Says:

Darin, somehow Zac managed to boatrace Todd in the 4th quarter of that embarrassing 3rd and 28 game, another prime time embarrassment for Todd. How come he can boatrace Todd’s D but cannot move the ball against anyone else? Could it be that the ATL has better talent?

Todd is the main problem but more and more I think Licht is also part of the prob. To be cancer free, you have to remove all the cancer, not just the biggest tumor. Love my Bucs but losing out might force the Glazers to clean house, not just Bowles and Zac but people in the front office who think they are safe because of 2020.

  23. Itzok Says:

    Make bowles walk the plank

    Off with robinsons head

The bigger question is our GM. I would say his 5 year grace period after winning a superbowl is up. He didn’t hire bowles and I doubt he wanted to keep him after last season. That gets hung on the owner’s.

However he did just pay vita vea and baker which looks like huge mistakes. I don’t think he gets fired but it wouldn’t surprise me.

Do you give licht a chance to hire the next head coach? What do you do at qb? When your going to have a top pick in a qb rich draft? Do you trade down keep baker and go after the best receiver or best pass rusher in the draft?

  24. TampaBay1976 Says:

Um…Joe…you’re editing your reads like Bowles coaches a game ..” That’s because Bowles can let the let the team any longer”……shouldn’t that be lead? Just sayin…
Sometimes Joe doesn’t wait for editing and lets it fly. Thanks for reading. Maybe next week. –Joe

  25. Angelo Bucs Fan Says:

Why is no one talking about the last play?? Should have gone for long field goal to try and tie the game. Probably better chance compared to 4th and 12 or whatever that was. At least give them a chance for goodness sake…

  26. Geno712 Says:

Maybe I missed it…. but with all the articles on bad coaching, Carberry needs to have one.

Do the fans only blame the players on the regression?

  27. Lefty_R Says:

    Interesting Article!!!

Bottlomline is , the Buccaneers are not even watchable!!!

  28. First Last Says:

After this week I would fire Robinson to get a jump start on offensive change. Then fire Bowles if McDermott would come in. Then you get a trial run on a wasted season anyway

  29. Henry Says:

    Joe says:

“Right now it only seems like Robinson got the job because he found a way to get Kirk Cousins to throw for over 500 yards on Bowles’ defense.”

It reminds me more of the Dungy end. He would not hire an OC that worth a crap. Most fans of the era were sure it was because he would not hire anyone that could be a threat to his job. Clyde Christenson anyone?

  30. Todd Says:

    Four letters:

    T-A-N-K

    “It’sssssss TIMMMMMEEEE!”

  31. Joe Bob Pigskin Says:

The Buc palace sure ain’t a SI data center.

  32. Wayfarer Says:

We admire and respect you so go ahead and keep losing. Makes perfect sense

  33. Kaput Says:

The Glazers will do their typical “due diligence” and wait to fire Bowles. They’ll wait long enough for all of the top candidates to get hired elsewhere.

And with a top five pick and a deep QB draft class, what the hell do they do??

  34. Sam Says:

The fact the everyone saw this coming and how bad this coach is and nothing was done last season to fix and make changes is even more concerning. Huge red flag for this organization. I liked Bowles but he should have been let go at the end of last season. Another wasted season. What a joke. Jason needs to go too

  35. Daniel Z Says:

Senor Harry – I’m convinced Bowles didn’t fire the ST coach mid-season so that he’d have a scapegoat at the end of the year in case they kept losing.

  36. Popcornmike67 Says:

Joe, the only question I have left is, Scheelhaas or Tomlin.

  37. Plexity Says:

I was ok the retaining of Bowles because it was the moral thing to do. He won consecutive division titles and it would’ve felt wrong to let him go after accomplishing that. But even then, I knew it wasn’t the smartest football decisions, it was just moral. Now the moral thing to do is care about the sanity of your fans and get him away from our beloved Buccaneers. Glazers, if you read this, don’t be like the Bucs were this week: Sackless…

  38. Lessismore Says:

Special teams was so pathetic last year and cost us a couple of games – yet Bowles made no coaching changes. I would be shocked to see any mid season coaching fires.

That said, it’s time to relieve him of his DC responsibilities – the game plan against a weak offensive line and a qb hit 31 times was to cover well? The equipment manager could come up with a better game plan. None of his assistant coaches said “whoa boss- that’s a bad idea?”
Clearly, Bowles has lost the plot.

In regards to Robinson – maybe it’s that no one else wanted to take the job.
Same could be said about the Griz hire last year.

And to MadMax – my sympathy.

Well, can’t lay THIS on Baker

Ugh, you kinda can. Zac was Baker approved/endorsed. While Bowles is surely to blame for the hire, let’s not forget his supporting cast in this decision Licht and Baker. In fact, this is very reminiscent of Licht also be led by the nose by yet another inferior HC to hire DC Smith. Licht is a clueless follower

  40. Popcornmike67 Says:

If Bowles is not somehow a little involved in the offense then, I clearly understand why Robinson was ran out of Atlanta. Hell, Grizzard, as a first time play caller offense looked better then Robinsons

  41. Shane247 Says:

Are you tired of blow out losses and getting your a$$ kicked at home consistently? Are you tired of receivers running wide a$$ open through your defense and watching half-a$$ QBs shred your defense? Are you tired of poor situational football and game clock management? Are you tired of defensive linemen dropping into coverage? Are you tired of watching talent being wasted, unimaginative schemes and no adjustments? Are you tired of less than .500 football? Then try Bowles-be-gone! Sometimes less is more!

Product not available in all 50 states. May cause severe bouts of elation. May result in a satisfied fanbase and elevated ticket sales.

  42. Knothead71 Says:

I’m not sure how much of this mess sticks to Licht. Think about it.
Lovie brought Licht in so that’s not on him.
Koetter got promoted because he said he could work with Winston, sounds like the owners signed off on that.
Licht brought in Arians. Year #2 we win the SB. Licht is clean.
Arians retires late and hand picks Bowles. Not on Licht, it was too late to get anyone else.
The Glazers LOVE Bowles! It was reported here multiple times. If the owners want Bowles we’re stuck with Bowles.
As far as Vea and Mayfield getting extensions they don’t deserve. I agree, both are overpayed. But don’t forget about Joel Glazer on the practice field with Vea and Mayfield having lunch with the Glazers just before those extensions were signed. Like Joe always says, there are no coincidences in football.

  43. adam from ny Says:

and cold blow off the thursday night game…

it would be such a wild and classic move…

    just don’t go…be a no show…lol…it would be uncanny…

blow the whole thursday night scene off and prepare for pitt…

or if we are getting trounced in dallas by halftime, do the old irish exit…

    i don’t think a team has ever done it…yet…

    be the first…

say it’s like 23-3 at half, just pack up shop, load everyone onto he greyhounds and dip outta there…

pack up and bail at halftime – pull the ole irish exit move…

  45. MadMax Says:

Thanks @ Bucinjim….as long as they know they were loved and had a good life

  46. Drunk Bucs Fan Says:

Still on my soapbox, no free lunch for Todd. If we have to deal with 17 games of this garbage so doea he.

As for Z Rob, damn I was fooled. But honestly he is the only one that even has a tiny percentage of a chance to save his reputation. If somehow the offense improves the last 10 games or so he can always go with the “It took a few games to get it all figured out” line of thinking.

Will it happen? Hahaha of course not. But the odds of that happening are better than Todd figuring out how to have his defense sack a qb with a garbage OL

  47. Lifer Says:

At some point, somebody has to explain where all the money is going.

In theory, we get the same budget as everyone else, right? Same salary cap, same basic pool of money to build a football team. So why do the guys making the biggest impact keep being the cheapest players on the roster?

Bucky. Parrish. Walker. Hurst. Trotter. ALL OF THEM are on rookie contracts. Those are the guys showing up in the stat sheet. Those are the guys making plays. It isn’t Vita Vea wrecking games. It isn’t Godwin taking over. It isn’t some highly paid veteran carrying this team. It is young, cheap players doing the heavy lifting while the guys eating up the actual money just kind of exist.

Then look at the premium draft capital. Ruben Bain was a first round pick and has ONE tackle this entire season. Emeka Egbuka had 13 yards today. Graham Barton had a botched snap, penalties, and still can’t seem to keep the middle of the pocket from collapsing. Calijah Kancey is injured. Logan Hall is on the Texans. JTS is on the couch. Wirfs? Fine. He’s great. Devin White isn’t here anymore. Vita Vea? The jury is still out on whether that extension was money well spent. And do I seriously need to keep going back to Vernon Hargreaves and Jameis Winston?!??!

I know the draft is hard. Nobody hits on every pick. If you’re right half the time, you’re probably doing pretty well. But are we anywhere close to half on these premium picks? Because it sure doesn’t look like it.

And then there is tight end. Jason Licht drafted Cade Otton, Ko Kieft, Payne Durham and Devin Culp in a three-year span. Four tight ends in three drafts. The best result of all of that is Otton giving you about 39 receiving yards a game this year. FOUR PICKS. THREE YEARS. And that’s the return.

Then we get to Bowles and the culture of this whole thing. Every week it is the same stuff. Guys are working hard. Guys are staying together. Guys are competing. Guys are doing things the right way.

    Cool.

THEY HAVE LOST EVERY. SINGLE. GAME.

This isn’t a two-game skid. This isn’t a rough stretch. They have lost every game they have played this season.

At some point, “working hard” can’t be enough. At some point, somebody has to be accountable for the fact that the expensive players aren’t carrying the team, the premium draft picks aren’t consistently becoming stars, entire position groups keep getting resources dumped into them with almost nothing to show for it, and the team just keeps losing.

    So seriously.

    Where is the money going?

    Where are the first-round picks?

And why does this organization keep acting like everything is basically fine as long as everybody is “working hard”?

  50. BigZ Says:

Regarding coach watch, I don’t know what’s so difficult. Todd had a horrible resume as a head coach for the Jets and was pretty obvious. After the Washington game, he should have got the boot. The guy is never gonna win more than 8 or 9 games a year. Maybe they need to get the cataracts fixed, but it’s been pretty clear to me for the last 3 or 4 years. You either have it or you don’t in middle ground is a bad place to be.

The glazers are getting exactly what they didn’t want. Another several years of darkness, just like florida state, the longer you keep mike norvell, the longer you sets you back. The next coach is going to get a lot of players out of their prime with bloated contracts.

  51. Hodad Says:

No more complaints about the QB, when you have two squads that are the worst in the league.

Bucs will get slaughtered Thursday night and Bowles will still have more lame excuses. At what point does he get fired ?

  64. MadMax Says:

stop smoking that stuff adam, lol

  65. Allen Lofton Says:

JOE, you said no more coordinators from Atlanta. Well remember the CURRENT HC who coaches the 49ers (where Mike Evans couldn’t get there fast enough) use to coach the Atlanta Falcons), we just picked the wrong guy and now we are living another lost season.

  66. Outrigger Says:

I think we should go with 8 offensive lineman and zero WRs next week. We don’t use them and why should we, we have Cade (hands of stone) Otten as our featured pass catcher.

  67. adam from ny Says:

    Mad Max:

i kicked an all nighter…so yeah the takes could be slightly off, or slightly on…

    pass the smelling salts

    🙂

  68. SummerofGeorge Says:

This would be a great time to start the tear down. The season is over.

You can cut bait on Robinson and bring in a 12 year old playing Madden in his mom’s basement as a replacement.

Clearly Bowles is getting a free pass until January so he has a stay of execution, for now.

This ism also the time to try and swing a trade with Mayfield. It is what is best for everyone involved. That contract was a monumental blunder.

Finally, the architect of this calamity needs to be let go now. Licht has been proven to be a fraud that only Tom Brady could paper over the reality.

    Inspire change now!!!

  69. adam from ny Says:

if baker wants protection when he returns, he will have to come in to the locker room low key, with 5 brown paper bags, and drop then off in a toned down manner at his 5 lineman’s lockers…

then wink and nod, and keep it movin’

    🙂

  70. ChattBucsFan Says:

This mess is all the on the Galzers. Many on this site said it last year, ‘what type of OC can we attract with a lame duck HC?” Keeping Bowles narrowed that pool of talent to a bucket and the Bucs got what they deserved for keeping this loser and his inept staff. Just hope the Glazers have some sense and/or dignity and clean out the entire front office as well. Then swing for the fences and bring in an on the rise OC or DC has HC for ’27. No more retread HC’s please.

  71. Lakeland Says:

I still have a problem blaming the Offensive Coordinator

At some point we have to look at these overhyped players
The players on offense are not the players, fans thought they were
They are horrible, facts are facts, look at the films

They are garbage, the worst in the worst NFL division

  72. Cutlass Quartermane Says:

😆 nah ,you wanted Bowles you keep him the whole year ! THEN clean house with a high draft pick

  73. Lakeland Says:

Jason Licht sold the fanbase a bag of goods, fool’s gold
These players were hyped to be among the most talented in the NFL
But, they haven’t played no where near the hype
This is what got this fanbase so angry
All of the off season hype, the big contracts
High expectations cones with the hype

And the overhyped players have underperformed

  74. Winny Testaverde Says:

The cherry turd on top of The Sunday was watching the night game. Notable co-author of a sex ed book…”El Hornay” aka Dave “Can Do” Canales led a potent attack on both sides of the ball and appears to have fixed Lil” Bryce Young. The Saints and Falcones ( who play tonight as part of a 20th anniversary to the Catrina Comeback game ) are markedly better while the Bucs have joined the Titans & Dolphins as one of the worst teams in the league currently.

There’s no easy way out of this. Bowles being fired is a foregone conclusion. My fear is that Bright Licht will be retained even though he absolutely needs to go. Catchy Licht House moniker or not…

  75. Lakeland Says:

    It’s a sad situation that’s getting worse
And it will take years to fix it

If they don’t turn this season around
The Glazers have no choice, but to COMPLETELY clean house

If Licht and Bowles are concerned about their jobs
They still have time to redeem themselves

  76. Bobby M. Says:

Mike Evans knew more than we give him credit for…..I think he was convinced Robinson wasn’t that good and with a crowded WR room and at that time, no extension for Mayfield, it was going to be more of the same. San Fran is 4-0….we’re 0-4.

Statistically Evans has shown a pattern of impacting games just by his presence and we are seeing that now. Godwin doesn’t open up the offense, nor does McMillan who cant stay healthy or Tez Johnson. Hurst has potential but he’s a long ways from creating fear into defensive coordinators….Evans was an absolute game changer and it is undeniable now.

Bowles can’t fix this mess….the players have checked out mentally. Whatever he’s saying to inspire simply isn’t landing, the same with his scheme. Whatever he’s attempting to run, the players simply dont believe in. It’s the same obvious flawed system since his first year with Brady. Bowles was never good, he was lucky to have an elite front seven AND Tom Brady AND Arians who would make the risky calls Bowles will never make. Arians played to win the game….Bowles plays to keep it close aka “not lose”. We’ve lost countless games by less than one score….his philosophy simply doesn’t work in today’s NFL that is tilted towards offense.

  77. Lakeland Says:

No sane person will accept the Bucs HC position if Licht is the GM
I don’t believe Liam Coen would have accepted it
He gave the Jags an ultimatum, either fire the GM, or get another HC

This is not a healthy situation for the Bucs

  78. Newbie Says:

Why is everyone so surprised? WE SAW THIS LAST SEASON. TEAM DELUSIONAL is getting exactly what they deserve. O-5 is coming like Christmas and this one will get real ugly in Dallas. Then the terrible towels will invade Ray Jay for a Steelers away HOME game. Wow. Who’s idea was to bring back this regime? All on you team Glazer!

  79. Capt.Tim Says:

I like Jaylon Daniels. I think the Bucs have found their 2nd string QB.

    But he ain’t Baker Mayfield.
And neither one of them will succeed behind this line. Bredesen and Barton are bad. Mauch was a decent guard, but not this year. He’s playing terrible.

And our WRs suck. Hurst looks like he will be a Good receiver. Godwin has either lost it, or has lost faith in this staff. He’s mailing it in.

Licht, Bowles, and Robinson all have to go, just as soon as soon as this wretched season ends.
Licht can be replaced Internally. His Staff is really good.
Nobody on Bowles staff should be promoted

  80. Bosch Says:

Firing Bowels mid season would actually be merciful. But I’m in favor waiting until after the season so the he has to make those humiliating trips to the podium after each loss.

If Bowels does not fire Zac the Hack mid season (like maybe this coming Friday), someone above him will take the decision out of his hands. I am sure that is what happened when Mike Smith was fired mid season.

  81. Biggun Says:

After watching Kirk Cousins last night and will watch Atlanta’s game tonight, I’m already seeing that Zac was and is the problem along with Bowles hiring of Zac. Behind the line screen passes damn near every play this season you can’t win that way! We need to look at seriously a rebuild mostly of the coaches! Denny Smith I’m good with keeping he’s working it out, but the rest needs to be a clean sweep. Bring back Gruden we need an offensive mind back in-charge. Bruce got us a SB so did Jon. If he’s not censured by the NFL in some way Jon I think would be great.

  82. Winny Testaverde Says:

Tough Talkin’ Tomlin ain’t the answer

Chunky Gruden is a cartoon character now…and radioactive to the NFL

Sean McDermott would be a retreaded “defensive minded coach”.

Please may it be an offensive minded coach…like the two who left for head jobs.

  83. Nick Houllis Says:

“The glazers don’t fire coaches midseason”
well I remember hearing in 1981 “no team has gone to Super Bowl after losing their first game. The 49ers lost and went 0-1, and then that changed.

This year, I think the Glazers will have had enough.

Good news? You just KNOW the Glazers will hire an OFFENSIVE minded head coach next year, and give Baker back to back seasons with same O coordinator for first time since who knows when.

Thats as Optimistic as I even I can get…

  84. crasey Says:

I believe Bowles was only retained because Harbaugh spurned the Glazer’s interest just as Parcells did years earlier. Pitiful performance may force them to move before season end but who would they hire and who would take the job?

  85. Conte Piscatelli Says:

Bowles has a history of looking at another teams weakness and saying “ they know it’s a problem in sure they fixed it” the Packers have not played any terrible games with the same o line, they are off the street at this point and Bowles says “ I hope they enjoy their time in Florida” No blitzing, we’re are apparently allergies to line stunts. Just go grab the bit in front of you for 4 seconds.

  86. MonsVenusVIP Says:

Anyone coming to DFW for the game with the boys, or wives if they allow it, go hit up The Rowdy Cowboy. Great food, good scenery. Parking lot is always packed.
Barbecue near Jerry World, go to Hurtado’s. It’s phenomenal.

  87. Winny Testaverde Says:

Harbaugh wanted to come to Tampa ( according to reports of course ). The deal breaker was that he wanted his own GM…but The Glazers insisted on keeping Licht. Whoops.

  88. SlyPirate Says:

    Time to Tank

That #1 pick will be worth a mint!!!!

  89. Cobraboy Says:

Cowboys will smoke this Bucs team.

I predict the ugliest Buc game this season.

  90. Joe Bob Pigskin Says:

    Gruden

  91. Rob Says:

The writing was on the wall with the finish to the 2025 season. Bowles has been a good coordinator but he’s not a CEO. This team is going to continue getting embarrassed against quality opponents. The Cowboys might just hang 50 on us Thursday night. We might have to wait until we play the Chargers in December to win our first game of the season. Yikes

  92. LakelandSteve Says:

I wouldn’t be surprised after Thursday nights game if the Bucs let Zac Robinson go. They would have 10 days until the next game which would give the new OC 10 days to try and make some changes. Of course it would have to be someone already on staff so don’t expect a lot of changes.

  93. Glass Half Full Guy Says:

I fully agree with the poor OC. I’m living in MA now and, thankfully, I can’t afford NFL Sunday Ticket at rh3 moment so I’ve only seen one Bucs game (last week’s embarrassment). I felt like I was in a time machine and watching the Bucs in Brady’s last year with us and Lefty was calling the plays. Lousy offensive line play (both run blocking and pass protection… oh, and penalties), predictable run calls up the gut on 1st and 2nd downs (no creative blocking or pulling). Baker under constant pressure and little to no play-action. Even Godwin was MIA most of the game.

I’ll be watching this Thursday night, so I’ll stock up on the alcohol in the meantime. This team plays with no fire or urgency and that stems from their “relaxed” HC. I like TB, but his record speaks volumes and he’s long over-stayed his usefulness.

  94. Jabber Says:

The Crooked Pop drinks are way better than that Miller Lite.

  95. KiddG_87 Says:

Joe did I hear Mike Tomlin for Head Coach?

  96. Baker bucs says Says:

Firing Bowles & go get Gruden wud b a healthy move we know what he can do

  97. Will Says:

Joe it appears certain players have given up. Others are working hard, and I feel their efforts will pay them well when they leave the team or get cut and or traded depending on who the next coach and GM will be.

  98. drdneast Says:

Mad Mex, I am extremely sorry about the condition of your pet. Losing a pet is like losing a member of the family. I hope it ends painlessly for your pet.
