“I’ve Got To Find A Job First”

March 8th, 2016
KoetterJameis

“Jameis, your four options here are Mike, V-Jax, Roddy and Brate. Don’t tell me nobody’s open.”

Joe might convulse repeatedly and regularly if the Bucs haven’t signed receiver help in the next week.

That would qualify as a crime in progress against America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

It’s just not acceptable. Jameis can’t be hung out to dry as he was last year. Vincent Jackson and Louis Murphy got hurt, and the Bucs’ offense went in the toilet.

Donteea Dye? Not good enough.

Russell Shepard? Not good enough.

Adam Humphries? Better than the aforementioned receivers, but still not good enough.

Murphy had his knee carved up in November. And counting on Jackson is a bit of a roulette spin at his age (33) and with him coming off two knee injuries.

Kenny Bell? Get back to Joe when Bell catches a preseason pass and gets through a training camp healthy.

Dirk Koetter knows what to do with receivers. He may be the only guy that ever figured out a functional receiving role for Devin Hester a couple of years ago in Atlanta. Koetter also knew how to run three- and four-receiver sets and satisfy the needs of Julio Jones and Roddy White.

Speaking of White, he’s on the market and Joe has written about him multiple times. What a wonderful depth signing he would be.

Yesterday, White was involved in fundraising game at his college, and he told BSPN, “I’ve got to find a job.”

He also reminisced about one of his favorite college moment that just happened to come at the Stadium at Dale Mabry Highway.

What’s the harm in bringing in White for a workout, a physical and a long chat with Jameis and Koetter?

Joe, I’ve been pounding for Roddy since the day he became available…and he wants to be here!!..I don’t see to many players dying to come down!

  2. BucFan20 Says:

No harm. But if he is not wanted or in their plans why waste their time?

  3. Bear the Bucs Says:

Roddy White – Healthy – No issues – No problem. SIGN HIM.

  4. CaptainStagger Says:

Travis Benjamin is a better signing

  5. Pickgrin Says:

When I read the headline – I thought it was just another DOM loving article by JBF – quoting the “rockstar” about his pining to get back into the NFL…

  6. tmaxcon Says:

Other than Jameis why would Travis Benjamin want to come to tampa… until bucs start winning again and crawl out of the basement it’s going to be difficult to attract top flight free agents. Roddy wants to be here and White is a HUGE upgrade over Murphy and Humphries Jameis needs healthy experienced NFL receivers not projects and local feel good stories.

  7. James Walker Says:

Who knows how to use him better than Dirk?

  8. Bucs SB with Jameis Says:

Evening fellers………….this “legal tampering” period is the most frustrating of all. Bear down Bucs’ Fans!!!

  9. biff barker Says:

The only real risk with Roddy is giving his roster spot to a younger, better player.

  10. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Does it really matter Joe. That have whiffed again in free agency and will have no pass rush this year without picking up one of the quality defensive ends that were out there. Another rebuilding year it is! FML!

  11. 727Buc Says:

Can we please sign Right Tackle Mitchell Schwartz ??? What are we doing? And then talk with Roddy White Travis Benjamin and Mike Wallace. Sign one out of the 3 Oh and Alex Mack.

  12. Noleriff Says:

WTF !?!? How hard is this Licht ?? You have 60 million dollars to spend…Roddy White is the perfect insurance policy for VJax, and unquestionable depth…Travis Benjamin is the perfect slot for this offense and speed compliment to the possession receivers we’ve already got…NOT TO MENTION GIVING YOUR FRANCHISE QB THE WEAPONS HE NEEDS !!!!! I know you’re gunshy after last year’s debacle. but Lovie-tard is Illinois’ problem now !!….it’s not rocket science !! Sign them both !!…..and while I’m on a rant…….RE-SIGN DOUG MARTIN ALREADY !!!!!!!!….

  13. DB55 Says:

No Joe. White is old and lazy and old. And the Bucs can attract faaaaar better talent in FA. I turn my nose up at white even though he WANTS to be here and even though he’ll be an immediate upgrade for Jameis. I say NO bc well I have a clue.

Oh and while I’m at it NO to the second best RB in the NFL last year bc again RB like dougie are a dime a dozen AND Top-tier FAs can’t wait to sign with TB. I mean we have no state taxes why wouldn’t they come to TB?

  14. Bucs SB with Jameis Says:

Hey DB………………I’ll take some of that ish brah.

  15. DB55 Says:

Lol, what? That’s all I’ve read all week but now reality seems to be setting in for some. Lmao

  16. DB55 Says:

SB should I have ended it with #sarcasm? I thought it was pretty obvious.

  17. Kevin Says:

I would rather have half of a rashard mayhews that a roddy white. Same for sanu and a handful of other recievers. I get it koetter coached him but koetter isnt going to bring all his washed up players from his past to play in tampa like lovie hes actually going to find guys to help the bucs win

  18. Buc1987 Says:

Kevin…so you know what Koetter is going to do?

What else is Koetter going to do?

  19. kenny Says:

What about Mike Wallace……he can take top off defense or Travis Benjamin

  20. LifeOfABucFan Says:

    @ DB55…that was clever..lol..

  21. Tampa Tony Says:

Not getting my hopes up Licht is scared after past failures and no one wants to play for a last place team

This seems very reminiscent of the offseason after 10-6 when Dom did nothing to improve the roster

  22. DB55 Says:

    Life

Don’t gas my head up I’ll never stop.

  23. BucFan20 Says:

Piss moan and cry. The world is ending. LMAO.

  24. Bucs SB with Jameis Says:

Oh I understood DB………I was just joshin’ and I had to go pick my son up from Cub Scouts so I wasn’t around.

  25. Bucs SB with Jameis Says:

But I will still take some if you got it. I will also share

  26. Pick6 Says:

statement: relying on a 33 year old is problematic

solution: sign a 34 year old as insurance

  27. Aaron Says:

White didn’t seem to get separation last year…I feel like we’ve been in this movie before…let’s spy on the Steelers player personal department and find a wr in the draft with juice

  28. loggedontosay Says:

    White is done. Dummies,
