The Buccaneers are now 18-21 at Raymond James Stadium, aka The Licht House, with Todd Bowles as head coach.
Bucs fans from Temple Terrace to Tierra Verde are wondering when Team Glazer will move on from Bowles and have mercy on fans following a third consecutive home loss today and a brutal 0-4 start.
Joe will get at least 100 questions this week on the subject.
Team Glazer will not earn extra money by keeping Bowles through the rest of the 2026 season. In fact, it’s possible they’ll lose money if Bowles sticks around and fan revolt grows while home games arrive against the Falcons, Panthers and Chargers. Those fan bases do not travel, so The Licht House could be half-empty for those games at the current Bucs performance rate.
Joe can’t say whether potential revenue loss by keeping arguably the least popular coach in team history could move ownership to make a move on Bowles.
Team Glazer has never fired a coach during a season. But this season is very different. It’s Year 5 of the Bowles regime. Expectations were sky high just like they were last year. And the excuses are in the rearview mirror. The Bucs are on a 2-11 run dating back to the 2025 season.
This is the worst Bucs start since 2013.
Tampa Bay has a bye in Week 10. For those hoping, praying, wishing Bowles gets fired soon, Joe would advise you to put your feet up for a month and wait.

The incompetence at every level and all three phases is what’s so alarming. There’s zero strategy other than getting lucky and stumbling into a turnover and/or hoping 88 doesn’t drop a pass. That’s it. Daniels showed a ton of poise today. He had no help from his OC. Robinson is so bad he makes me long for Jeff Tedford and Marcus Arroyo. The investment in Baker is a total waste with this coaching staff here. Last thing. Best lowlight of the afternoon was watching 62 snap one off of his junk onto the turf. The kid is just flat out lousy. But since there’s zero accountability, he will play.

An interim coach and an undrafted rookie isnt going to be putting fans in the seats. Everyone knows what will be coming at the end of the season. Might get a high enough draft pick to bring in Mayfield’s eventual replacement, after some development.
This season is toast, any changes would be of the lipstick on a pig variety. Let the current regime own this mess, and work with a clean slate next season.

At this point just let him finish the job which is on track to get a top three pick. Unload vets and get more draft capital along with cap space. This team is built similarly to when Arians joined us. We have talent, it’s just not utilized properly. I believe we’re loaded with pass rushers that are ideal for a 4-3 defense where the scheme emphasizes DEs rushing the passer instead of playing in the secondary.

Yes the defense is playing better than the offense but BOWLES hired a bad offensive coordinator who sucked last year with Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts. Both of the Bucs schemes are extremely easy to beat. The only time Robinson’s scheme is even good is against Bowles defense. Maybe he never looked at any of the other games Robinson coached. Also might of wanted to look at how the Falcon players reviewed and rated Robinson.

I think this roster has alot of good players on it. You can win with this roster. Bucs players need a firm and motivating for 2027. Additionally if Bucs get the Number 1 pick. Don’t trade it get a general player in here who is going to be the face of this team for next the 10 plus years.

Seems like any team with a TE can make us look ridiculous. It’s predictable every week to everyone but our coach and secondary. Our offensive line is just that…offensive! Pathetic!

He went along with Bowles appointment to head coach by Arians. Licht went along with extending Bowles contract. This is Licht’s mess.

Of course Todd deserves to be fired whenever it happens. But let’s not kid ourselves about one thing.

Licht is responsible for the final 53. Jalon Daniels is a nice guy and a good player but he is UDFA and a rookie. He is the QB of the Bucs now. kinda crazy. Licht did this too. Ruben Bain, Emeka Egbuka, Kancy, Barton, Logan Hall (who?) Joe Tryon (who?) yeah all of these unproductive useless players were Licht’s #1 draft picks. This team is because of Licht.

I still come to JoeBucsFan to read up on the Bucs, but I visit the site probably 1/4 of the amount of times as I was previous to the Bowels extension earlier this year. I just can’t support a coach that drags out decisions that a casual fan can see. I have come to love this site, but how many times do I have to read, “it’s a complicated defense” and “gotta make less mistakes” and “this player is amazing, that’s why he sits the bench.” I am so tired of the same story. I get that it is very difficult to fire a HC during the season, but how many years do the fans need to prove their loyalty by trying to support garbage.

I agree with you guys the coaching is not good…
but is it also possible many of our players are over rated
and will have sold by jason that they were or are good..
im not so sure any more…take ME for example he leaves
and now nobody is getting open…

@ Rod Munch Exactly..you don’t pay a QB top 3 money 💰 unless your team is a Supetbowl contender & he’s a Brady , Allen , Mahomes who can take over a game..problem just like drafting wrong / paying wrong hamstrings your team from getting better..Licht convinced the Glazers 3 days before & even not said he was a top tier money qb ..DL n OL picks are off that’s part of it w/ Bowles ..Get Gruden draft Manning n keep Baker in his contract then you got Mamning & Jalen after

I hate to say it, I’m 61 a Bucs fan since the beginning, but it’s time to sell. Sell all expensive players you can for picks and cap room. Can’t drop Baker but getting a top 3 pick could real in big benefits over next 2 years. I love Jason but it’s time for a cleanup. Go find a young OC for the HC job a young GM and rebuild thru the draft and FA. Maybe we get lucky and turn it around in a year, hopefully with a bunch of young core players. Retooling has to end. It was fun while it lasted but we’re just going to keep having a half full stadium filled with their fans. No one wants that. Go Bucs.
