BY IRA KAUFMAN

Sometimes, the simplest explanation is the best explanation. In that spirit, let’s stipulate the Bucs are not a good football team. In fact, they haven’t been good in quite a while.

Their record speaks for itself and that voice is a low growl. Eleven losses in the past 13 games tells the story — and it’s a grim one. This league began play more than a century ago and only the 1992 Chargers advanced to the postseason after an 0-4 start.

Do you have any reason to believe the 2026 Bucs will join them as outliers?

Sunday’s 17-14 setback against a Green Bay club that scares absolutely no one typifies Tampa Bay’s plight. The Bucs are rarely blown out, but they can’t win the close ones in a league that does everything in its power to ensure these games close.

The defense played good football for the second consecutive week as the Packers went 2-for-10 on third down and averaged only 4.5 yards per snap.

As expected, Bucs quarterback Jalon Daniels did most of his damage with his legs in his NFL debut. But the rookie was never given the opportunity to test Green Bay’s secondary downfield as a drab attack sputtered once again.

Offensive coordinator Zac Robinson

And here’s to you, Mr. Robinson … show us something, anything.

Only two Tampa Bay snaps gained more than 15 yards, and one of them was a 21-yard scramble by Daniels. Bucky Irving, who was very productive through two weeks, suffered through another pedestrian game. His longest run in 16 carries was a mere seven yards.

While the Buc defense limited Green Bay to 17 points and forced two turnovers, there were issues on that side of the ball as well. Jordan Love, who entered the game with an atrocious 52 percent completion rate, hit on 22-of-30 passes and was not sacked. Even more troubling, he was hit only twice.

More tight end success against Todd Bowles’ defense.

Chris Brooks ripped off a 27-yard run to set up the game’s first score as Love capped a 16-play drive with a 2-yard flip to Matthew Golden. Once again, the Bucs struggled against opposing tight ends as Tucker Kraft caught six passes, including a TD that put Green Bay ahead 17-7 after three quarters.

Here’s how the Packers extended Tampa Bay’s misery, despite playing without perhaps their two best players, Josh Jacobs and Micah Parsons:

* Yes, the stadium was packed with Packer fans. Many were able to walk down the stairs to better seats on the east side once Buc fans began filing out well before the final whistle.

* On Green Bay’s second offensive snap, Josiah Trotter and Zyon McCollum both missed tackles as Kraft took a short pass and went 17 yards. Yes, those tackling issues remain unresolved.

* Daniels was intercepted just before halftime on the play immediately after he suffered a big hit by 305-pound Javon Hargrave. Tampa Bay was already in field goal position, so the right call would have been a run on second-and-10. Instead, Green Bay turned the giveaway into their own FG and a 10-7 advantage. That’s not smart football.

* The Packers looked like they would open a 10-point lead on the ensuing possession before Tykee Smith forced a fumble on first down from Tampa Bay’s 3-yard line. McCollum pounced on the turnover but the Bucs couldn’t capitalize.

*Daniels used his athleticism and field awareness early in the fourth quarter when he rolled left away from pressure and found Kenny Gainwell alone next to the left sideline for a 10-yard TD connection that pulled the Bucs within three points.

* Jacob Parrish’s interception gave the Bucs one more chance in the final minutes, but the drive bogged down at the Green Bay 47. Facing fourth-and-11, Todd Bowles bypassed a 64-yard FG attempt by Chase McLaughlin toward the south end zone and instead, Daniels threw incomplete. McLaughlin converted from 65 yards out against the Eagles last year, but there was a southeast wind to consider.

* For the season, Bucs QBs have been sacked 16 times, compared to six for opposing passers. For the season, Buc QBs have thrown three TD passes and five interceptions.

* The Bucs are the only winless team in the NFC after four weeks.

* The Bucs have gone eight consecutive quarters without playing with a lead.

* I ran into Graham Barton in the locker room and asked if he was shocked by the 0-4 start. “No, I’m pissed,” he said, speaking for Buc Nation.

Bad Rosters lose BIG ..Bad Coaching loses 1 score games…Trust me as a fan from 1976 I know a bad roster.

DEAD. MAN. WALKING. Get the for Sale sign out.

  4. MonsVenusVIP Says:

Barton won’t be pissed when the game check direct deposits this week. Just sayin.

  5. Joseph C Simmons Says:

I’ll keep watching as long as I perceive they’re trying. Once I see they’re phoning it in, I’ll see them next year, most likely with a new coach.

  6. Bucs Since ORANGE & WHITE Says:

Mike 13 evans been knew years ago
    0-17

    2-15 max maybe 3-14

    Mike tomlin 2027
    Please

  7. RJ Says:

Well, Ira you were part of the overhyped brigade before the season too. I was on record and time stamped in August as saying this was no better than a 7-10 team. And I also stated part of my prediction was based on irresponsibly not having a legit backup to reckless Baker as the odds of him playing all 17 again were slim. But realistically, this season was doomed on January 4th when the Bucs were eliminated from the 2025 playoffs and the owners didn’t act.

  8. Itzok Says:

Poor coaching lost the game. You idiots don’t coach as if brady was the qb when unfair in his first ever start is there.

Letting him throw at the end of the first half instead of running the ball and either attempting your own field goal or killing the clock and putting just gave GB points

The same coaching malpractice happened at the end of the game. Should have stuck with the run gotten 8 yards minimum and attempted a field goal. Nope dumb arsenal coaches decide to let the unfair drop back three times and lose yards getting knocked out of field goal range

The ineptitude of this coach knows has no limits

    Fire him now

  9. Eric in Denver Says:

Ugh, c’mon Glazers! Get you head out of your Arses! Cut your losses and move on! It can’t get worse than this!

  10. Scott McKirahan Says:

Anyone who has watched McLaughlin kick and who also witnessed the anemic offense during this game would have tried the field goal. There was better than a 50/50 shot the field goal would have been good. There was less than a ten percent chance Daniels was going to convert on 4th and eleven after trying to survive blitzes that left him less than a second to get rid of the ball on the two previous plays.

When Bowles elected to go for it, I immediately screamed “Fire him this minute!”

Of course, what good would that do? Then, Robinson would likely take over as head coach with no defensive coordinator at all. Replacing someone who stinks with another turd is flushing the season away (as if it isn’t already in the Todd Toilet Bowle).

  11. Eric in Denver Says:

    Good article Ira!

  12. Scott McKirahan Says:

People pleading for Mike Tomlin need to stop it. He’s no better. We need an offensive guru, not a middle of the line, old school defensive minded head coach again.

  13. Todd Says:

Ira, I’ll call your 10 takeaways and raise it a dozen things:

    1. The Bucs aren’t rebuilding. They’re decomposing.

    2. Eight straight quarters without a lead. At this point, “front-running” would be a major improvement.

    3. Six sacks by the Bucs in four games. Somewhere, an opposing quarterback just ordered DoorDash from the pocket.

    4. 0–4 and still competitive every week. We’ve somehow perfected losing without the courtesy of getting it over with early.

    5. The defense holds Green Bay to 17, forces two turnovers, and still loses. That unit should sue the offense for lack of support.

    6. Zac Robinson’s offense has officially entered witness protection. Nobody can find it.

    7. Eleven losses in 13 games isn’t a slump. That’s a business model.

    8. Two plays over 15 yards all game. I’ve seen longer drives looking for parking at Raymond James.

    9. Opposing QBs: six sacks. Bucs QBs: sixteen. Apparently our pass-protection philosophy is “thoughts and prayers.”

    10. The Packers were missing Micah Parsons and Josh Jacobs, and Tampa still found a way. Never question this team’s commitment to adversity.

    11. Graham Barton: “I’m pissed.” Buc Nation finally has an official team spokesman.

    12. The worst part about 0–4 isn’t that the season feels over. It’s that the Bucs insist on making us watch every game until the final possession before confirming it.

There. I feel better. My goodness. What a sh***t show this season is this far.

  14. Zzbucs Says:

99% Bowles will be out, not sure when….. Is VERY important JL goes with him.
A New beginning is what we need.

  15. gotbbucs Says:

This is a boring team with no direction. They play with the same fire that their HC exudes on the sideline.

Ive been apathetic since the middle of last season. Im not sure if theres ever been a HC more deserving of losing his job at the end of last season, but here we are with Toad Bowels still leading us into more mud. I want to see everyone in this organization that chose to keep Bowles after last season suffer through as many losses as possible as a slap to their faces in the same way they slapped all of us fans across the face.

Let it burn all the way to the ground. Its going to take a long time for me to fall for any hype with this team again. Any new coaching staff will be met with absolute skepticism.

  16. ‘74 Bucs Fan Says:

Was at the game. Hot and lots of Packers fans – but they were pretty cool people. We are just a bad team all around. Offense is boring. Two bad teams leaving not much to get inspired about.

New coaches and a top 5 pick is all that matters.

  17. BucfaninOregon Says:

Evan was a key player in 49r win today. With extreme rib injury! Eat your heart out Pollys. 3rd ab
    and 28!

  18. Lakeland Says:

Keep grinding there’s a whole lot of football left to play

It ain’t over until it’s over

  19. The daily corner Says:

You win or lose on the line offense and defense.
The Bucs are very weak in the center of their offensive line – left Gard Bredeson is ranked at the bottom quartile Graham Barton is ranked in the third- quartile Cody March is rank right in the middle.
And the tackles Tristan worse is ranked second at left tackle Goedeke is ranked 10th at Wright tackle.
And even with their rankings the center of the Bucks offensive line all rank low and run blocking
. So what does it mean? Well – it means the Box offensive line is a sieve up the middle so even Josh Allen wouldn’t have time to throw a ball. Maybe the only running back that can run up the center of the offensive line for the Bucks is David Walker
And then there’s coaching great coaches make average players very good and good players great obviously the coaches staff for the Buccaneers, at least the offensive side of the ball or a leaky sieve just like the center of their line

  20. StormyInFl Says:

People pleading for Mike Tomlin need to stop it. He’s no better. We need an offensive guru, not a middle of the line, old school defensive minded head coach again.”

Tomlin would be a horrible mistake.

Time for a young offensive head coach. Not a retread and not a defense first guy. Hiring Tomlin would be no better than keeping Bowles.

  21. Lakeland Says:

When you’re officially eliminated from the playoffs
    That’s when it officially over

    Right now, keep grinding
You have a whole lot to play for

  22. Steven007 Says:

When will anonymous posters realize, and we are all anonymous here, that no one, I mean absolutely no one cares about your so-called predictions. Truly. No one cares. No one checks. Why would we? Because what does it prove? Absolutely nothing. I’m sure I’m going to continue seeing this, but it’s a stupid move by whoever inserts into a post what they predicted. Again, no one cares.

  23. Eric in Denver Says:

Playoffs?? playoffs?? You talking about Playoffs??

  24. TampaBay1976 Says:

Ira, you should have put your fingers on Barton’s
Neck to see if he had a pulse….

  25. Lakeland Says:

You can talk playoffs when you’re still in the hunt

And the last time I checked, we’re still in the hunt

  26. Sam Says:

@Lakeland lay off the heavy drugs

  27. Confido75 Says:

My faith in this franchise will be restored as soon as Todd Bowles is fired. 5 years as HC is enough to prove you either can do the job or not and he has proven without a doubt he is not capable.

  28. Lakeland Says:

So we’re not in the playoff hunt?

You’re saying we’re eliminated from the playoffs

  29. Rob Says:

    Four one-score losses.

Mike Evans is arguably the difference between 4-0 and 0-4. The Bucs miss him in the worst way and he covered up a lot of other deficiencies.

  30. Bucs4Ever Says:

I’m very disappointed with Mike Evans. Look, he is not the same player he was. Injured most of the time. He COULD have stayed wtih the Bucs and finished his career here.

    Why?

    LOYALTY

He is not loyal. He is about Mike Evans. So stop telling us to “eat our hearts out”.

  31. Lakeland Says:

If we’re not eliminated from the playoffs
Then we’re still in the playoffs hunt

  32. drdneast Says:

Buc fan in Oregon, You nailed it. That was the main reason Evans left. He saw no future with Bowels as head coach and more of the same.

  33. Bucs4Ever Says:

Am I grateful for EVERYTHING he did? Yes, and he got his bag.

IT’s OK. This horrible season will hopefully get rid of Todd, Zach, maybe Jason. And Mr. DISRESPECTED and UNDERVALUED>

Most bucs fans would be ecstatic if they cleaned house.

  34. Merryplankster777 Says:

How many years have we have been saying Fire Todd? Uggh. It is always the same.

So much worse than Lovie or Shiano or any of the more recent pre Arians. Seems this was a
Coat tailer that we some how just can not shake. Makes it tough to be a Bucs fan, but it is what we do

  35. drdneast Says:

Should we put Kancy, Vea and Diaby on milk cartons yet,

  36. ModHairKen Says:

How did people get fooled by Licht again with his lies and mismanagement? Who thought they’d be better because the OL was back together?

No games. No merchandise. No nothing. Won’t even take free tix. You’ll get no reward from me, Bucs.

Poor blocking. Missed tackles. Bad playcalling. No pride.

You all are a bunch of soft losers.

  37. nprbuc Says:

Bowles,Robinson and Carberry should be forced to watch the Chiefs v Raiders game on a repeating loop for two days. Those were two well coached teams that met today and played NFL level football until the final whistle. What a difference watching real coaches call a game! Maybe they could actually pick up a tip or 2? Naw. Just wishful thinking of a suffering Buc fan who drank the kool-aid..

  38. drdneast Says:

Should we put Kancy, Vea and Diaby on milk cartons.

  39. Lakeland Says:

When we are OFFICIALLY eliminated from the playoffs
Then l will say the season is over

Until then, l say, keep grinding
    We’re still in the hunt

  40. Capt Ahab Says:

The Bucs are a train wreck, the head coaches passive demeanor is the culprit. In my opinion the worst decision this franchise made besides keeping Bowles for another year was to straddle this franchise to Baker Mayfield with that ridiculous contract. Thinking a fire sale and rebuild is in order, putting all your eggs in the Mayfield basket was an enormous mistake.

  41. FortMyersDave Says:

I wish that someone would ask Licht some questions about accountability. It is a fact that Bowles has destroyed this team but why has he been allowed to stay on? People point to the 10 win season when Coen ran off to Jacksonville so, I could buy the Glazers and Licht giving Todd one more year but last season was the last straw for me. The team continues to make the same mistakes and people blamed the injuries. No way, look at San Fran. They found a way to win. Now I question whether Licht should not be launched, he stood with Bowles, extended Baker and Vea and has a green rookie as QB. Ira should ask Licht if he feels any responsibility for enabling Bowles and also having a mediocre track record since 2020-2021. Licht has as much to answer for as Bowles.

  42. Proudbucfan Says:

As much as I love the Buccaneers the Glazers need to either sell the team or move out of Tampa, this city doesn’t deserve an NFL team. It makes me sick every time I go to the stadium and it’s filled with other Jerseys. This was even going on when the team was winning the people and the owners just don’t care anymore.

  43. SkunkApe Says:

The Glazers are sitting there thinking “the fans were right, Bowles needed to go last year, and the year before. We must be stupid owners who know nothing about football.”

  44. Lakeland Says:

The Glazers are going to make money regardless
Every NFL team gets a equal share of the revenue
And they still have their big ticket in Manchester

  45. Rod Munch is Wyndham Clark Says:

Pass around what Lakeland is smoking. Same guy who was all down when Baker was playing is all positive, practically giddy, when he’s out. Same result. Your bipolar.

  46. Sam Says:

Watch the panthers play on SNF. The whole division is playing better than this Bucs team. Bucs have no shot at winning this division. They’re not beating the rams, bears ,cowboys, lions, chargers or Steelers. This team is done. Embarrassing. Pathetic. Glazers are a joke and Jason Licht proved he no longer knows how to get or keep the right talent.

  47. Conte Piscatelli Says:

Graham Barton should shut his mouth, he is a big part of the problem! Might be the worst player on a poor offensive line!

  48. Bucs4Ever Says:

    MerryPlankster777

Yes, Everyone saw it. But the Glazers

  49. Popcornmike67 Says:

We all know the Bucs WILL NOT make the playoffs regardless of most of us wishful thinking including myself and true, the Bucs have been bad at least the last 3 years

  50. Rod Munch is Wyndham Clark Says:

SkunkApe, I wish that were true. The Glazers could care less. They’re rich and arrogant. In Cincy, I was amazed how little attention anyone on the team gave to the fans who traveled to the game before or after the game, except for Brian Ford. My young son was on the sidelines pregame and the Glazers walked right past him. He was decked out in Bucs gear (super cute). No nod, no fist bump, smile or anything. Then it hit me, it’s an organizational culture thing. They’ve just lost sight of the fan base.

  51. Cmallie Says:

Kinda breezed past the headline didn’t ya Ira. Bowels is not fit to be a head coach

  52. J BONE Says:

LOL BARTON IS pissed, not as much as we are. WE PAY not get PAID to watch his sorry play. It is terrible can’t imagine he’d be much better at his Natural POS of G.
Chalk this first rounder right next to Devin White LO never drat a LB not named LT in top 5 so dumb

  53. Lakeland Says:

I don’t think the Glazers really care

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers makes $657 million from revenue
The Tampa Bay Rays make $290; million from revenue
The Glazer’s are business people, they only care about orofits

  54. Chant Says:

Well, I was giving Todd Bowles the benefit of the doubt but it is time to get a new coach. I would start the search now to get a jump on the other teams. The team seems listless and unmotivated. Start evaluating who they want to keep for the future. The record speaks for itself. We are in a tie for worst with the Charges and Texans. Tank to have the worst record and trade it for multiple high picks. I still think they have talent but need assets and new direction. Let’s be real and not kid ourselves. Let’s play to be spoilers the rest of the year.

  55. Bucs4Ever Says:

Can we fire him and Zac before the season ends? Now please.

  56. Pewter Power Says:

the simplest explanation is the best explanation. It’s like people forgot or ignore this franchise was turned around by BA but he threw it back in the gutter when Bowles was hired even with Tom Brady as the quarterback the team was mediocre

  57. McBay Says:

C’mon, Ira. Everyone who is a Bucs fan knows that we have the best coaches and players in the league. Thank goodness we retained Bowles and Baker. In fact, we should extend Bowles. The team is really right there.

Lakeland and StPeteMatt need to weigh in. I don’t want to be the lone voice of reason in the predictable fan reaction to a single loss.

  58. Tye Says:

Bowels career is circling the drain and headed for the sewer where it belongs…

Now the question is – will the owners repeat the same moronic mistake and hire another bum as HC to ruin the next 5-7 years!

  59. Lakeland Says:

    Look at it this way

In the past 5 years, Man U has had 7 different managers
The Bucs have had one head coach

The Glazers are heavily involved with Man U
But, they are making big money off the Bucs
    Win or lose

  60. FortMyersDave Says:

Lakeland is right. If the Glazers cared about winning, Bowles would have been fired at the end of last season at the latest. I think they are using Bowles as a lame duck this year for financial reasons, to lessen the buyout and perhaps get a top 3 draft pick the new head coach can use to start the rebuild. This season, they will get fans in the seats from opposing teams. They do not care how much fans want change. They will only act ehen it pinches their wallet.

  61. Popcornmike67 Says:

Since last season the Bucs are something like 1 and 10. At some point leadership has to be held accountable

  62. Oxycondomns Says:

i dont think people realize thursday nights game could be bowles last game. he is horrible at game planning on short weeks . perfect time to hire a new coach on a mini bye week

  63. LoveMyBucs Says:

    Paraphrasing
NFL is a big business, and 17 weeks a year they are exposed in public

  64. Capt Ahab Says:

Players on the block at the trade deadline:
Mayfield, Kancey, Winfield, Anzalone, Dennis, Diaby, Gainwell, Muhammad, Otten, Nelson and Vea. Obviously some are more desirable then others. Some no team would want the salary. Rebuild mode should be coming.

  65. Creamsicle Says:

Fire bowels, diaby isn’t a starter, make a plan for Another QB because mayfield is dogsh*t. Our most promising game this year was today with a undrafted rookie free agent with our number 1 draft pick out from injury. DOES THAT NOT SPEAK FOR ITSELF.

  66. Creamsicle Says:

Capt ahab you have the mentality of the jets franchise

  67. Capt Ahab Says:

Probably have to give up a draft pick to entice another team to trade for Mayfield and take on his ridiculous salary to alleviate cap pressure.

  68. Mr. Barf Says:

The only Savior that might work is ol Lucille. Need a few swings in the clubhouse and y’all see real survivors heart

  69. Winny Testaverde Says:

Barton should be embarrassed. He missed multiple would be blocks when at least previously he would just get called for holding. He’s mediocre at best…and trending towards a 1st round bust.

Licht…The Lord of the O-line…has spent two 1sts , two 2nds and countless dinero on his handcrafted o-line. And they are spiraling…

Embrace the suck as they say…make replacing Bowels & Licht obvious choices.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Licht is inexplicably retained. Licht House < Out House.

  70. Creamsicle Says:

Vera deserves his contract although he’s been underwhelming this year. Gainwell is overpaid and gets more than our starter Bucky. Winfield has been underwhelming since his payday I haven’t heard a thing from Nancy so see this year ( he apparently gained weight during the offseason and hasent seemed to pay off). Get rid of diaby and Dennis we wouldn’t miss anything and could get a good player out of it. They’ve both been non factors for multiple years so far. Otton get rid of him too he’s absolute cheeks when he’s counted on. So many third down drops. MUHAMMED and Nelson you have to keep they’re both cheap and actually produce numbers

  71. MadMax Says:

Its refreshing to watch Canales be involved and so energetic when he was just interviewed….this stoic todd thing is bringing the whole team down, as the rest of us too….IM NOT SETTLING FOR THIS BS!!!

  72. Rob Says:

The kicker is the best player on the team right now. We have no pass rush. We aren’t explosive on offense and we can’t block. It looks and sounds just like last year‘s team that couldn’t win a game in the second half of the season. Not to mention that we couldn’t pick up a blitz to save our lives.

  73. BucsFan81 Says:

I was just coming here to say that. It’s weird watching a fluent offense. The Bucs offense is literally terrible. Watching the panthers moving up and down the field. We basically have no OC at all like Zach Robinson couldn’t call a high school football game.

  74. Winny Testaverde Says:

Are The Bucs now 2-11 in their last unlucky 13? The 2 wins by a total of 5 points over a hapless Cardinals team and Carolina in the finale which only cost them draft position and helped retain Bowles? It’s so much worse than the casuals and potentially owners think.

  75. DrunkInYbor Says:

I predicted a 2 to 3 win team. All because of Bowles amd how the Glazers operate. Keeping Bowles only.makes sense if your thinking is well if he does goodngtrat he probably won’t great wr will get our new coach a premium pick and some good young players with another season under their belt.

  76. Creamsicle Says:

Think of how many 1st and 2nd round picks on offensive and defensive line. We have probably some of the best defense and offensive lines in terms of where they were picked in the draft. Yet we are a weak team. What is this team doing man

  77. McBay Says:

Where are the positives? There are so many great things about today. Defense played great. Rookie QB only threw 2 picks, and had the ball in his hands with a chance to win at the end. That’s a lot to appreciate, and required excellent coaching to keep it that close. Go Bucs.

  78. Creamsicle Says:

Vea- first round, Cancy- first round, Ashawn robsinson- second round

  79. Creamsicle Says:

Wirfs- first round, Barton – first round, Mauch – second round, geode – second round and I believe bredeson was 5th round. Is there any teams out there with higher draft picks in the trenches???? This is not right

  80. Frank Pillow Says:

It’s too bad we’re entering another era of ownership seemingly distracted by their new stadium and other dealings across the pond. I hope I’m wrong—but this debacle is solely on them. It’s apathy time, my friends. The long road to nowhere.

  81. Jeebs the Honey Bear Says:

We have the worst coaches in the NFL. This roster would win with competent coaching. Liam Coen. Bowles awful. GG.

  82. Brown paper bag Buc Says:

@Todd Says It’s like Mark Twain decided to tune into the game and launch some commentary here. Pure genius! Since the team is going to deliver plenty of material for you this year, Joe Bucs should provide you with a weekly comedy column to keep the laughs coming. We’ll need the laughs because this dumpster fire the Bucs org has lit won’t be extinguished any time soon.

  83. MadMax Says:

This detroit D is tampa D….omg the similarities are so on

  84. Creamsicle Says:

Btw, for anyone wondering. In terms of ranking NFL offensive lines that we drafted the highest in the NFL. We are second behind the cowboys. Meaning the only other team in the NFL the has high draft picks on their offensive line is the Cowboys. Yet we went block a one legged penguin from running up the middle of our offense.

  85. MadMax Says:

@Cream, its the coaching…player positioning, scheme, attitude…it all sucks right now

  86. Conte Piscatelli Says:

I’m not sure we win a game this year, seriously! This team quite on Bowles last year and the idiot owners kept him so the heart of the franchise Mike Evans left and LVD retired. If you don’t think it’s all related you aren’t paying attention. At 0-4 the remaining players will all start getting “dinged up “ and this season will end with likely the #1 pick. Really at this point that is the only real success they could achieve.

  87. Bosch Says:

    The Glazers suck. ESAL Glazers.

  88. Creamsicle Says:

@conte I think your spot on, when Mike left in the offseason I was shook and confused. It is all making sense now

  89. Popcornmike67 Says:

All I want for Xmas is a fun to watch Bucs team

  90. Creamsicle Says:

Mike knew something and saw something we felt was coning but we’re all hoping it wasent true. Mikes a real football player and saw this all coming from a season away

  91. Outrigger Says:

Agree that Tomlin would be a big mistake. He would be just like Lovie was. A defensive coach that hasn’t done anything lately and who the game has passed by. We need a young fiery offensive minded coach like Ben Johnson or Liam Cohen. It makes me sick that the Glazers let him walk.

  92. Creamsicle Says:

Defensive gurus like Tomlin and bowels was supposed to be have been completely outdated by new aggressive offenses. The game is evolving and they are not and it’s clearly showing

  93. 80sBucsfan Says:

No more dinosaurs. No Tomlin. No retreads. No more Jason Licht either.

Jason Licht is a freaking LOSER. 93-108 – he stinks without Brady.

Both his online and dline STINK. That’s on Jason Licht.

Clean house. No one should be spared.

  94. B Says:

The Panthers apparently maximize how field advantage by having a female professional wrestler bang a massive drum. Why aren’t we utilizing this technology? It’s negligent.

  95. SBucs Says:

It’s a bad coaching staff attempting the impossible with mediocre players. Some high draft picks have regressed with this staff. They are remotely going to right this franchise until there’s a complete clean house. Sad to see but that’s the bed the current team has made.

  96. Creamsicle Says:

Your not considered a defensive guru anymore when every team in the nfl has converted every 4th down on you lol

  97. Pelsbuc61 Says:

Never have so few done so little with so much!

  98. MelvinJunior Says:

@ Steven007 Says: “When will anonymous posters realize, and we are all anonymous here, that no one, I mean absolutely no one cares about your so-called predictions. Truly. No one cares. No one checks. Why would we? Because what does it prove? Absolutely nothing.”

Of course, “YOU” would say this! Someone, who is always Dead-Ass WRONG on literally, EVERY FREAKING THING. Seriously, NEVER EVER “Right.” I mean, ‘someone’ who could NOT possibly be MORE WRONG. So, I guess, I can see why it would really bother someone like YOU. Doesn’t bother ME in the slightest. I am very secure in MY convictions, though. And, have been “right” every step of the way, on well over 90%+ of EVERYTHING concerning this Bucs Franchise, and most everything else LoL. When, “YOU” on the other hand, have been EXPOSED. Real BAD. That’s the only problem here. You don’t want to be reminded, about THE REALITY. Cause, NOTHING you ever say is based in reality, or anywhere even CLOSE. You can’t handle the ‘reality’ or THE TRUTH. You are always, DELUSIONAL. Just completely Nonsensical, and on another planet type stuff. And, it’s total INSANITY.

  99. BucsFan81 Says:

We’re the worst team in the NFC South and the NFL. Bowles sucks in general but he is really bad on short weeks and prime time games. Thursday going to be real ugly. I think they get blown out by 30 points.

  100. Outrigger Says:

I see Casey Rodgers has made a big impact on the Lions defense. They are an absolute sieve. Our defense has actually improved since he left. I sure hope the Glazers can pick a good head coach. They have only picked 3 good ones since they took over the team (Dungy, Gruden and BA). Not sure how good BA would’ve been without Brady. And he stuck us with Bowles.

  101. ATLBuc Says:

Can’t blame this one on the defense.

  102. MelvinJunior Says:

@ ModHairKen Says: “How did people get fooled by Licht again with his lies and mismanagement? Who thought they’d be better because the OL was back together?”

I’ll tell ya WHO… People like StPeteMatt, Steven007, T-Krass, and many MANY others, who all have Stockholm Syndrome, by the way! And, all MUST really love the abuse from ‘believing’ that LICKT is a great GM. And, that THIS is a “LOADED” Roster and Offense. Seriously, when there could not be a more ‘unimpressive’ individual, in that particular role. Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock, on that .399 WinPct%. It’s a Tickin’ and a Tockin.’ I said it was a “Bottom-5” Roster in the NFC (which should have been ‘obvious’ enough for EVERYONE to see), and that was actually “me” being GENEROUS. It’s not like we have been losing to any “World Beaters” here, either. Then, you have all of these other just CLUELESS individuals, who continue blurting-out TOMLIN, MCDERMOTT, and GRUDEN, as if they have some form of Tourettes, or something!? It’s really unbelievable… Fricking mind-blowing, the ABSURDITY. I mean, the just total amount of INSANITY… Is well, INSANE.

  103. Bucslosecoverthestadium Says:

#teampositive. They are just setting up for an historic run to the playoffs. Todd will coach it better and the players will play it better. (I think I’m going to vomit now)

  104. MelvinJunior Says:

@ Jeebs the Honey Bear Says: “We have the worst coaches in the NFL. This roster would win with competent coaching. Liam Coen. Bowles awful. GG.”

Ummm, “win” WHAT EXACTLY, the NFC South!? It would STILL be THIS Roster’s CEILING. But, no… This would NOT be our roster, IF Coen were the HC. It would look a lot differently, AND there would be a completely ’different’ GM in place. Or, otherwise HE would not be HERE, in the first place. We wouldn’t be 0-4 with another HC, but neither would we be true legit Contenders, either… Not with THIS exact roster in place. NO-WAY. Wake up and smell the coffee.

A handful of these guys JUST BETTER step TF UP in order to increase their trade-value, if they’d like to GTFO and go some place else, to join a contender. We need these guys to STEP UP, so that we can at least get ‘something’ FOR THEM. We need to load up at the trade-deadline, on as MANY 2027-Picks in this “all-time” LOADED Draft-Class, as humanly POSSIBLE. As well as in 2028. Cause, 2028 or 2029 is when we need to grab our QB…. Either, Keelon Russell, or Super Kamario Taylor. I’ve only been saying this for the ENTIRE offseason, BUT what does this incompetent FO go and do… Well, of course, they go and extend Baker, LONGTERM. Just Pure Insanity.

  105. Will Says:

    The clown show continues

  106. adam from ny Says:

    i dunno ira…maybe it’s like i’m blinded by the light or something…

i keep thinking this team still has a good amount of talent…

maybe i’m wrong and just looking at it thru rose colored glasses…

can i no longer give a balanced assessment…?

am i a confused homer who is totally off kilter…?

i still think we have a pretty good roster…maybe i’m wrong af

  107. McBay Says:

Listen to Lakeland. There is a loyal fan who knows his football. It ain’t over until the whistle blows after week 19 !

I’m excited. 10 game winning streak starts Thursday night.

  108. Buc1987 Says:

Lakeland…Only one NFL team in history has ever made the playoffs after starting a season 0-4.

  109. CBucs Says:

If the Bucs get one of the top QBs in next year’s draft. I expect Mayfield to have. a very good season, next year.

Everything Baker has achieved from being a walk-on in college, to the pros has been about the chip on his shoulder, proving people wrong.

I’m not suggesting that Mayfield is a long term solution for the Bucs. I am suggesting that drafting a stud QB as his eventual replacement, is like high octane fuel for the man.

I’m confident Baker will do a good job of holding the fort until the QB Bucs draft (hopefully) is ready to start. Don’t believe he wants to go out any other way.

A new OC every year of his career. Messed up fingers which need surgery. The ugly stats aren’t all because of those factors, but they sure don’t help.

But a new HC, and a decent OC. And I think Mayfield will have a good season.

  110. Bigdaddybucfan Says:

Al Michaels will probably call in sick Thursday night

  111. Megoat13 Says:

Bucs fans are morons, all those clamoring for tomlin when he turns into Todd Bowles 2.0 don’t say I didn’t warn you.
