Second-Lowest Scoring Team In The NFC

Monday, October 23rd, 2023

Bucs OC Dave Canales.

In only the first eight games of the miserable 2013 Bucs season, Tampa Bay changed quarterbacks (veteran with mental issues to a rookie third-round pick), lost its top running back to injury, and had only had one legitimate receiver to complement an undrafted rookie tight end.

No wonder the Bucs went 0-8! But they averaged in those eight games only 1 1/2 points less per game than the current Bucs. (more…)

BY IRA KAUFMAN

Owner Arthur Blank looked a little wobbly walking to the Atlanta interview room after Sunday’s game.

Who can blame him? The Falcons owner knew his team didn’t play particularly well, but hey, a win is a win and his franchise now leads the NFC South at 4-3. Sluggish coming off a bye last week, the Bucs were sloppy and unfocused en route to a 16-13 setback.

That’s three consecutive home losses for Tampa Bay, which now hits the road four times in the next five games. (more…)

The Bills Are Bad, Too.

Sunday, October 22nd, 2023

Up next is Buffalo.

Bucs fans rightfully are melting down after today’s sad play on the field of The Licht House. But that’s sort of a good sign that people are losing their minds when their beloved Bucs have a .500 record after most analysts predicted a losing season.

It means the standard is high. (more…)

Season On The Brink

Sunday, October 22nd, 2023

Joe just wanted to throw a chair this afternoon with the playcalling.

No, this post is not about the Indiana Hoosiers or its former famous coach Bobby Knight. And it’s not about Joe’s favorite book typed by embedded journalist John Feinstein about the 1986 Hoosiers and how they melted down under the intense pressure of expectations and the boot of their brilliant yet explosive coach. (more…)
