Bucs coach Todd Bowles.
When someone collecting a paycheck from the Bucs to broadcast games is critical about the continued sloppy play of Tampa Bay, you know things are bad and you also know word of this will certainly rise to the offices in the highest reaches of One Buc Palace.
Former Bucs tight end and current Buccaneers Radio Network game analyst Dave Moore scolded the Bucs for being a sloppy if not undisciplined team. While Moore didn’t say it, you can read between the lines and conclude he doesn’t believe the Bucs are well-coached.
“We see a lot of the same mistakes every week and they are not making the corrections,” Moore said in the immediate moments after the Colts sealed a 27-20 win over the Bucs, all but knocking the Bucs out of the playoff chase.
“If they expect to win, they have to clean that up.”
And from the way Moore continued, the whole team and maybe the coaches too need to be thrown in the shower and scrubbed down.
“They need to clean up their play,” Moore said of the Bucs. “They need to clean up the missed assignments, the dropped balls. They had a chance for big plays. [Winning] is taking advantage of opportunities that are given.
“It’s not that much but it’s plenty right now. It’s hard to watch when you are not getting any better at it.”
And that, friends is absolutely on the coaching staff. Why do the Bucs continue to make bad decisions, bad plays, bad penalties? Either the coaches aren’t teaching things right, the players are too dumb to learn, the Bucs coaches don’t give a s(p)it or a combination of the three.
No matter how you slice it, it looks bad for Bucs coach Todd Bowles.

Todd Bowles is not a head coach, he’s a defensive coordinator. If he were a head coach he would hire someone else to run the defense so he can focus on being a head coach, managing the game, and fixing our offense. I’m sure there will be many teams who want to hire him STRICTLY a defensive coordinator after he gets fired from Tampa. Todd Bowles has proven incapable of fixing offenses, developing quarterbacks, and managing the game.

Look what a competently coached team can do when they play football around Gardner Minshew of all people. Dont tell me about Mayfield. Honestly there’s no need to fire Todd Bowles during season, nor start Trask (wouldn’t make much of a difference). This season is over. Even for the fans that’s praying we get into the playoffs, do we really believe we can compete against playoff teams??? Didn’t really expect much from this season but was excited to see what baker could do with two perennial pro bowl wr. He’s not the problem but neither is he the ANSWER! In this day and age your QB play had to be the ANSWER, unless you have a roster like SAN FRAN. On the positive side I’m sure we had a good week in practice lol my only thoughts left is WHATS GOONG ON BEHIND THE SCENE WITH THE Glazier family…BTW IS DEVIN WHITE STILL ASKING FOR 20 million a year?

No argument about the coaching, But how long are we going to be subjected to Baker’s slow starts in first half. He is not throwing accurate passes to start the game. He had a fumble early, that was not a good play call. Three downs to get in the endzone, and that what Canales comes up with. And three batted balls are a bad trend and it often stalls a drive. Would love to see how many drives resulted in TD’s when Baker has a batted ball.

I agree with Rod Munch. There is something wrong when your coaches are talking about improved play in the loss to the 49’ers. That’s like saying it’s a moral victory. You’re sending the wrong message, kind of like giving kids participation trophies. These guys are getting a lot of money and letting them off the hook by congratulating each other for a loss where you “played better” is loser speak.

Even the announcers called that play on fourth down 🤣. And our defensive guru DC/HC with decades of experience didn’t see it coming or couldn’t call a defense to stop it. PATHETIC. No point in firing Bowles now, Licht and team need to be researching serious candidates, not the next Bowles, Lovie, Koetter, …etc. A well thought candidate with experience and a winning record, like a Gruden or Arians or someone with high potential. Someone with a proven track record so we don’t have to hope the stars align to make someone something they are not.

The coaching staff? We’ve known this for 2 years! Bowles stinks and he’s brought the team down to his level of mediocrity. It’s simple – dump Bowles. If his replacement is just as bad, no one will think twice about it and you’ll still be able to get your coveted high draft pick at next year’s draft. I turned the game off after Devin White DECIDED NOT TO tackle Minshew near the goal line on 3rd Down. There’s really no excuse for that, other than Devin White being involved in some sort of illegal activities, IMHO. This isn’t the first time he’s done that, either…Look at when he chose not to push Deebo out of bounds last year in SF, along with MANY other sketchy plays. This guy needs to be INVESTIGATED, no NFL player is THAT WEAK!

And for as much as I criticize Jason Licht. (He’s been terrible this season)…..
We still need to give Licht at least one more offeason to try and fix his many errors….but if he fails next season then that’s when he’ll officially be on the hot seat.
Licht replaces 2 solid players from last year’s D with Ryan Neal and Greg Gaines and it’s hurt this once solid defense greatly. Are you kidding me?

I suspect the search started weeks ago.
I expect a splash hire. Not that I would approve or not…but a Bill Belichick, Harbaugh…something along those lines.
Really, if Bill Belichick gets fired, given that Licht and he have a relationship and McDaniels is jobless…I could see that one actually happening. I could See Bill Belichick getting a 3-5 year deal.
Would it be worth it? I honestly do not know. While Bill has not looked great at all since Tom Brady left his team, with the right QB, he could do well again. And he is one of the top coaches in history.
Aside from that, though…I think he retires instead.
As for Harbaugh…possibly. He isn’t happy with the way he’s being treated in the college ranks.

You must be new here. The guy who runs this website (Joe) attended training camp and after TC ended reported that Trask “outplayed” Mayfield in TC. Mayfield got the job because it was promised to him to lure him to sign. Now go back to Miami or Michigan or whenever you’re from.

This team had no expectations this year. They re exactly who we thought they were. Undisciplined, poorly coached, and poorly managed team. Our amazing tom brady years were truly surreal. Magical even! As a 40 year fan I’m used to watching inept, mentally weak, underachieving teams year after year. About the only positive take for another terrible season is bowels will be almost certainly fired. They should have a fairly high draft pick.

The Glazers are tanking this team for a QB in the draft! By keeping Bowles as HC they will have a quality young QB from the draft for sure. There can be no other explanation for him still being HC. He might very well rank as the worst HC in the NFC. With the talent he has, he should have twice the Ws he does have. But no! A sly way for the Glazers to tank. Not a good season to be a Bucs fan. Imo.

The Bucs can pay Harbaugh a fortune and it’s just Glazer loot. It does not count against the Cap. Or they can throw darts at the board and try to find another coach and really throw the dice on one of the biggest crap shoots in the game..drafting a QB in the first round.
There have been 38 quarterbacks drafted in the first round since 2011, the year the NFL changed the collective bargaining agreement to set a wage scale for rookie deals, making it extremely affordable to draft a quarterback.
These 38 first round quarterbacks have made a total of 1,909 starts. Their record? 1034-1035-7

If Jim Harbaugh is coming, you can lay cash he wants the team he signs with to go get J.J. McCarthy.
So for the Trask Types who may want Harbaugh, careful what you wish for.

First, the Glazers have the final say on coaches. That’s been that way since Malcolm Glazer bought the team.
Second, yeah, it was a package deal. If you want Arians you have to keep Bowles. The Bucs got a Super Bowl after a decade of trash football. Who wouldn’t have made that deal?

Whatever happened to the defensive guru that was once the so-called Todd Bowles?

Totally agree (the Glazers, you may remember, seemed to have pushed back a little on Bowles) but turn the clock back five years.
The Bucs had just completed a Lost Decade. Joe is going to guess a “concession” the Glazers made was that Arians had to get the team deep into the playoffs and then they would retain Bowles when Arians retired. No playoffs? No succession plan for Bowles. As Brady himself said, Joel Glazer told him when he first signed, “I just want to win.”
So the Bucs got a Super Bowl, won 29 games in two years including a division title and had a couple of home playoff games. Then, they had to pay the interest which was keeping Bowles.
Still a damn good bargain. Two really, really great years (and a Super Bowl) for two bad years.
The Glazers (and Joe believes Bucs fans too) still came out ahead.
It sucks now. It sure didn’t suck three years ago.

If Jim Harbaugh comes here, am giving him five years max.
Harbaugh did great things in San Francisco but the building was on fire when he left after four years.
Harbaugh has been in Michigan seven years and would be shocked if he’s there for an eighth year. He’s been suspended twice just this year alone and now the NCAA is sniffing around Ann Arbor.
Harbaugh seems to wear out his welcome after roughly five years.
And for the Trask people, if you want Harbaugh, better get ready to buy J.J. McCarthy jerseys. Pretty confident whatever team signs Harbaugh, he’s going to just about demand the team trade up to draft McCarthy.

Starting Trask accomplishes 2 goals… it shuts up his fanbois who think he’s a starting caliber QB, and it gets Bucs a better draft position. Trask for the Tank!
