March 27th, 2023

Joe is spending the afternoon, evening and wee hours patrolling the NFL Annual Meeting (formerly knowns as the “owners meeting”) in Phoenix, including the huge NFL all-night party, and will have all kinds of goodies tomorrow and beyond.

Teaser. Shame shame shame. Can’t wait to get the goods.

  2. Winny Testaverde Says:

Is this where Joe (S) drives around the city like a madman…scaring even the Brooklyn battle tested Irv “The Swirve” Coughman? Enjoy fellas…sounds like a good time and Phoenix is money this time of year.

  3. SlyPirate Says:

Just because Joe isn’t sharing, doesn’t mean we cannot speculate.

    My guess …

The Bucs are ranked 26th by the NFLPA for quality of programs. That’s really bad. The Glazers are going to improve their survey scores by improving food quality, refurbishing their planes and buses, and offering childcare services.

    Tonight at 11:00:

No clue yet but we’ll have something!

Looking forward to the scoop. Have fun Joe!

Hopefully news of a trade for Montez Sweat for JTS.

    Hey a boy can dream.

Tease but at least keeping us updated as to what’s up.

  11. ModHairKen Says:

    Brady is unretiring.

  12. sasquatch Says:

Will it be “news” or the usual empty speculation, misinterpretations, and illogical conclusions?

  13. SB~LV Says:

    Free Beer Tomorrow

  14. Vlad The Impaler Says:

    Gruden is the new commish?

  15. Rod Munch Says:

The news? The Bucs finally get even with the Jets over the Brett Favre trade, and instead sneak in at the last minute and get Aaron Rodgers. Book it.

  16. Buccos Says:

Free drinks at the Mons Venus with your game tickets. Adding misters to the stadium to keep us cool at those 1pm kickoffs

  17. DoooshLaRue Says:

Last time time this happened, Joe threw his support behind Mike Glennon.

    Can’t wait…….

  18. Vlad The Impaler Says:

    Typing G e r a l d M c C o y triggers the censor lol.
Glad that JBF is a safe space for fragile flowers.

  19. Rod Munch Says:

Vlad The Impaler – Their filters are absurd, not that Joe is personally editing them – although it would be quite funny if they were randomly blocking player names.

    I know for years you haven’t been able to say J u s t i n W a t s o n.

I speculate that you are way off.

“The Packers are ready to move on from Aaron Rodgers, even if they don’t get a first-round draft pick for trading him.” – PFT

Ahem. I would happily give a 2nd rounder for Rodgers and get a couple years out of him. With our team, we might just go all the way. Would be worth it.

  22. Rod Munch Says:

I’ll give the Packers a 2nd AND Scotty Miller for Rodgers. Now that’s a deal.

  23. Woodenman Says:

Agian Rogers makes 50 mil a year what cut half the team ?

  24. View from 132 Says:

    A post about posting.

  25. sasquatch Says:

Next post: Heads up for a future post to announce when the “news” post will be coming.

Post arrives: thud. All that anticipation for that? Jeez.

  26. Goatfarmer Says:

Joes – how about a future plan where you have sign ups and a dozen or so of us drunkards come out there, not to follow you around but to at least be in the bars and restaurants and stuff. You of course should profit on that!

LOL Well, to be honest, if Joe is spending hundreds of dollars to travel somewhere like Indianapolis or an owners meeting, he’s usually spending that time digging for stories.

That doesn’t mean you can come to Joe’s draft party at Big Storm Brewing in Ybor City next month and pester him or Ira for Bucs news. 🙂

  28. Goatfarmer Says:

Ya Joes, I didn’t mean that we would be anticipating any time together, you have much work to do , but the atmosphere sounds pretty ripping!

Just to be around some of the conversations being had. But, yeah, always good to think about that Draft Party with lots of Big Storm on Draft.

Wait, that’s what you mean right?

That’s Rodgers current deal, if he was traded it’s the Packers that have to take a huge cap hit this year, the team he’s traded to can redo the deal however they want. If I’m the Bucs, I give him probably a 5-year deal (for cap purposes, would likely be more of a 3-year deal), with 5 void years tacked on at the end. Meaning you can probably get a cap hit of under $10m this year, which you can get from redoing Evans and Shaq’s deals, and free up more by giving White a new deal. If you’re going to go all in, why not go all in?

The big question mark however is that you still have Todd Bowles coaching the team. Is he really going to get you a championship?

But I did propose years ago the natural handoff of this team would be to go from Brady to Rodgers, just become a team that is always in the hunt by grabbing great QBs at the back end of their career.

Bucs making a move for Lamar Jackson?

  32. Steven007 Says:

So Rodney, you speculated both a Jackson deal and now a deal for A-Rod?! Or maybe you would argue with the word speculate. Whatever. You keep barking down a tree that has no fertile ground. You might as well get comfortable with Baker boy and the second round back up. With perhaps a draft pick thrown in for grins. If not certainly another low price veteran. But… Fun to talk about fantasy football I guess?

  33. Mike Johnson Says:

Come on Glazers and Licht. Make it happen. Lamar Jackson the new Tampa Bay Bucs QB.

It’s a comment section of a message board where people talk sports… it’s sort of what you do as a fan, you come up with various scenarios, what if’s, wouldn’t it be cool, I hope we do this or that, etc.

But I already know, and have said repeatedly, the Bucs aren’t going to do any of this stuff. They’re going to go into the season with Mayfield and Trask and probably be a 6-11 team, so next year they won’t be bad enough to have the top pick and take a new QB, and we’ll still be hearing next year about how Trask finally needs to get a chance, and the team will be 5-12 or 6-11 for the next 2 decades.

I’m going with the Bucs being sold.
