Bucs’ Firepower “Unfair”

September 19th, 2021

Potential to score at will.

It’s going to be a long afternoon for Dixie Chicks defenders at the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway.

That’s the analysis from Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com. He types that with Atlanta’s sorry defensive front, the amount of gunpowder the Bucs carry and Mr. Seven Rings pulling the trigger, Bucs receivers and tight ends are going to run up and down the field like it’s track practice.

Rob Gronkowski is suddenly beating safeties on the outside again. Antonio Brown is clearly more comfortable in the Buccaneers’ offense and has Tom Brady’s trust. Gio Bernard ran a better route to pick up a first down on Tampa’s game-winning drive last Thursday than any route by a Bucs running back a year ago. It’s unfair for this extraordinarily thin Falcons defensive front coached by Brady’s old defensive coordinator (Dean Pees) to face a Tampa team this loaded, healthy and rested.

Joe would love for this to happen and it may have to. We won’t know until about 2:30 p.m. when the inactives are officially announced, if Carlton Davis will play.

Davis injured his hamstring last week and he was limited in practice on Friday. Add to the problem is Sean Murphy-Bunting is out for the foreseeable future, and Joe would not be surprised if Davis is rested to help him heal to he can play at Los Angeles next week and at New England in two weeks.

If Davis cannot go, the Bucs will need Rosenthal’s projection to come true.

Atlanta is pretty bad lately. How did they allow their team to get so bad ? They must be rebuilding ?

  2. Pickgrin Says:

Brady has the best group of receiving options ever assembled on one NFL team.

Evans, AB and Gronk are all HOFers. If Godwin can play at the level he has been for another 6-7 years – he might get in too.

Add Gio, Brate, Miller, Howard, Johnson and Darden to the mix – and its really just not fair playing with that amount of talent….

Still gotta show up and play mistake free football week in and week out or risk getting beat though…..

Atlanta doesn’t have nearly the Talent that the Bucs do – but I bet they are pissed they played so poorly last week and are looking to make a statement today….

    GO BUCS!

I think Atlanta’s receivers and TEs will be the ones running up and down the field too.

  4. Señor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

I’m with you Joe, I hope Davis does not play and is not needed.

  5. Leighroy Says:

If the pass rush can get home, it’ll be a blowout. If not, the o/u should be around 80 pts!

  6. David Says:

I really want to see absolute dominance. Not just on offense, I want to see that front 7 dominate and some tight coverage from the DBs!

  7. Brandon Says:

Any Gio love at this point is unwarranted. Reputation won’t win us any games.

  8. Swampbuc Says:

Shaq and JPP need to come to feast, and the DBs need to be ready for more perimeter passing.

Bucs win by that idiot Vegas spread, I’ll eat my hat. Dixie Chicks are a division foe and they were awful last week. Vegas blew it on the Dallas spread, too. BTW, I don’t wear hats. 😂

We deserve that talent as fans since supporting the team through all the bad years. Kudos to Brady for restructuring his contract showing fellow teammates he would be unselfish to try and keep the team together then it feel together like dominos.

  11. Craig Says:

If the chicks play like last week, I wouldn’t doubt that the Bucs can hang half a hundred on them.

The question is if Mattie wakes up; what can the chicks hang on the Bucs.

  12. AM Says:

Mike Evans can play corner lol he said as much I think with are receiving options it’s worth at least looking into.

  13. John F Ensch Says:

Not a long day for Falcons as they are going to beat the crap out of this horrible Bucs defense. This defense is so pathetic that they are an embarassment to watch. I have never been this ashamed of a Bucs team in my life. Keep the clippings out of these guys faces and they may turn into a team.
