Not Ready For Prime Time

October 8th, 2020

All offseason, Bucs fans were told that Tom Brady would raise the games of those playing around him. He would fix what ailed the Bucs. He’d make coaches better, even people working in the office.

That may happen on a grand scale, but none of that showed up tonight.

Joe can handle a loss, but not one like this mess in Chicago. It looked as if the Bucs had no leadership and a second-rate coaching staff.

The Bucs were outcoached, outmuscled, and were sloppy mentally and physically. When Nick Foles completes 71 percent of his passes in a comeback win, you know there’s something very wrong going on.

Even Brady joined in the act by forgetting it was fourth down — on the biggest play of the game.

Joe’s pointing a finger at Bucco Bruce Arians. Teams reflect their head coach, and the Bucs have been very messy all season and have yet to play a complete 60 minutes.

Yeah, yeah, Joe knows, yeah, yeah, there weren’t preseason games or May practices. That line is getting old. Go tell it to the teams playing well.

This mess needs to get cleaned up in a hurry. The undefeated Packers are up next, and the Bucs falling to 3-3 with three division losses would represent an early hole for a team with playoff goals.

Bullspit! The refs bailed the Bears so many times I puked my frigging guts out!

  2. unbelievable Says:

It was absolutely pathetic from pretty much every single person on the field, COACHES INCLUDED.

Soft @ss defense from Bowles, mind-numbingly stupid play calling from Leftwich.

Oh and we probably lost Vea for the season too.

    Hooray.

  3. Aaron Says:

I hate when our D plays off ball…just go man and attack

  4. unbelievable Says:

Oh yeah, the refs def fked us on the Barrett penalty. TWICE!

Every other person watching including the broadcasters said both those penalties were complete garbage.

  5. Danr Says:

Or… he did make them better. And thats how bad our wr. Depth is.

  6. Buc1987 Says:

    2020..it’s a crazy year!

  7. ModHairKen Says:

But last week, they were great, right? Come on. It’s one game. On the road. The Bears are a good team and they were in it until the end.

Fix the mistakes. Get healthy. Get ready for GB.

  8. Lamarcus Says:

BA with that “last year” BS smack came back for him. In a embarrassing way

  9. ElioT Says:

If they were 3-3 it wouldn’t be “3 division losses” proof-reading is powerful.

  10. Dewey Selmon Says:

How can you have 3 division losses when you have played 2 division games?

  11. Wesley Says:

No excuses losing to that crap team, just embarrassing.

  12. ElioT Says:

The Smith’s era defense was soft.

At least our guys hit and fight.

Davis made a great play to give us a shot.

    It didn’t work.

So many total weak d**k mentalities here.

It sucks, I get it. Move on!

  13. Jeebs the Honey Bear Says:

Maybe BA has no business being head coach. This team has been poorly coached from the beginning of his reign. Byron Leftwich is a terrible coordinator. We seem to be stuck with BA, so hopefully he can get this team disciplined somehow. But Leftwich?? He needs to go!

  14. Nick Says:

The play calling on both offense and defense drives me insane. No screens, no creative plays given the lack of talent on the field. How the defense starting giving up 10 yards of cushion on nearly every important down was mind blowing. That walk off first down on the key 3rd down to put them in range for the game winner. Bunting had a terrible game. Dean looked to play hard and Davis lost his focus bickering with Robinson… causing flag after flag. That said, the referees were terrible

  15. Nick Says:

White has been non existent for 2 weeks now

  16. ClwJB Says:

Super soft off coverage exploited time and again – OLine played poorly – rookie RT schooled – the Jensen PF call was bullspit

The ridiculous calls were infuriating- the refs literally took the game – watch the tape again tomorrow- this crew will be home in December

Hard to just blame the ref’s when the D was so bad

Bowles better get to work – the HC lauding is obviously premature

  17. ©MadMax Says:

Welcome to Tamps TB12 where the refs hate us! That said there were some dumb penalties….then Brady thinks we had another down at the end, that shows what frustration can do, but hey, is what it is, regroup, rebound!

I think Big V is done for the year and thats the biggest downer of this game.

  18. Asdf Says:

How are people freaking at the defense? 20 points, 7 of which were off a super short field. The final three caME of a BS call on Shaq the flipped the field.

20 points in the modern NFL is a solid effort.

We were extremely short handed on offense but still only lost by 1 pt. Prior years we would have been blown out.

    THE SKY IS NOT FALLING

  19. Coburn Says:

D lined up way too far off the ball a lot. When they played tight they did well except for some in first half

  20. FtWorthBucs Says:

We shot ourselves in the foot for sure but the bears wouldn’t have even been let back in the game if not for the refs

  21. Pewter Power Says:

Division games and in conference games matter. It’s like Gerald McCoy gave the pregame speech or something. No way if I came out of retirement to win a super bowl would I put my fate in the hands of Byron leftwich. Pagans knows this offense well, it got got Arians his first head coaching job which is why he was saying they got out coached. Bowles is as suspect as is this secondary that can’t cover wheel routes and deep balls. What an embarrassing loss and very Bucs like.

We’ll see how they respond but I’m sure after watching this game the packers can’t wait to play us

  22. Coburn Says:

Ultimately it was the offense that couldn’t get it down though. Run the damn ball

  23. TampaTown Says:

Maybe BA needs to stop blaming Jameis and blame the man in the mirror

  24. REDZONE BA Says:

Ok – @Madmax – so the 6-Ring QB running the offense is unaware of down and distance? Is that his fault or BL’s? Just curious?

  25. james west Says:

we lose to greenbay, and that’s another loss to a playoff team in the CONFRENCE, and it pretty much puts a stop to any of this cinderella off season rah rah rah hype BS because i would say at 3-3 riding a 2 game loosing streak, and having to go to vegas and see chucky, i think ya know how he feels about tampa and brady to say the least, you can put a fork in it wrap it up and put a bow on it and stick it under the tree cause it will be over, smith needs to be gone, jensen get your head outta yo ass, dumb penalty’s are dumb, vita damn man looked painful get well soon, rojo you have convinced me you do belong, gronk thanx for the memories, and tommy terrific, maybe you did not choose wisely, i guess the colts o-line looks pretty enticing now, arians can you start calling plays, leftwich come on man

  26. Alanbucsfan Says:

No Godwin, Fournette, OJ, McCoy, Watson and banged up Miller and Evans- Bucs didn’t have their weapons, and Bears D was pretty good – K Mack and R Smith were disrupting Bucs all game and add in a short week – it was a tough game.
Bears were having their problems as well – the OLine penalties were the difference in a defensive struggle.

  27. UKBuccaneer Says:

“3 division losses” says Joe in a rant about disciple, accountability and failings. Ironic.

  28. Godlovesbucs Says:

This was a game i had as a loss on the schedule. The frustrating thing was the off coverage. It was clear they were running slant and swing passes all game. Gotta take away that, force foles to throw deep. He is not herbert with the deep ball. Between that and the 4th and 1 fg i was really dissapointed in the coaching. Gotta at least try to draw them offsides on that. 4 fgs usually equal a loss.

  29. German Buc Says:

You can’t win against the refs.

  30. Debbie Says:

I was Soo upset with the Refs!! They let Chicago abuse Tom allll nite but they keep giving the Buck’s Tik Tok penalties ..it made me sooo upset..Tom your The Goat 🐐 the Buck’s will get it together..

  31. Sauron's eye Says:

Why do we have so many antifans on the site? I just do not get it.

  32. Rod Munch Says:

The Bucs never win in Chicago.

    Now 5-23 there.

It’s just one of those things, just like even a really good Packers team will lose in Tampa, it’s something you can count on.

So assuming the order of the world doesn’t change, the Bucs should beat the Packers in week 6.

  33. Darin Says:

Bad officiating yes. Bad coaching yes yes. Cmon Arians at least stop beating yourselves. If you’re gona lose let the other team beat ya. And I wish Bowles could make an in game first half adjustment instead of waiting until halftime. Cost em. There’s still a RB running a route with no defender in the area code

  34. Bird Says:

    Rod

Actually I have given you sh!t in past But touche
Agree. I thought bucs win 50/50 Before game started

No godwin Mike evans 50 percent In chicago. We dont win there
Injuries happen So no excuses. Vea injury is tragic.

NWO. That i am worried about. Communists suck. They dont even know they are communists . They are called something else

  35. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Hey Joe…..”Conference” losses, not “division” losses.
