“I Will Be Fine”

December 8th, 2019

Messed up throwing hand at halftime?

No problem, said America’s Quarterback after the game.

“I will be fine,” Jameis Winston told the Buccaneers Radio Network.

And fine he was, Jameis shook off losing Mike Evans and three interceptions to record a career day with 456 yards, plus four touchdowns — and a big fat “W.”

“That’s Jaboo, man. He’s a warrior,” Lavonte David said. “He’s going to battle it out no matter what.”

What a roller coaster quarterback.

Bucs fans watching at home must have enjoyed the Jameis chat on the CBS halftime show between Bill Cowher, Phil Simms and Boomer Esiason. They all agree Jameis is a mess driving Bucco Bruce Arians nuts, but they also agree Jameis has an NFL future as a starter and a remarkable ability to bounce back and fight in games. (Joe will have more on that tomorrow)

Jameis may be the most inconsistent quarterback in NFL history through five seasons. Joe’s never seen anything like this.

“He just really came out here today and was on fire,” said Breshad Perriman, who added the belief in each other pulsates through the Bucs offense.

My man Jameis is a warrior. Proving we can win games with him.

  2. tmaxcon Says:

jameis is far more entertaining than all those 9 to 7 dungy the clown led games with no hope in the post season. at least when you can score offensively you always have a chance… when you only having a highly ranked defense with no hope to score you are will never win consistently.

  3. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    LOL

……………….and what about all them turnovers too??????

  4. JimmyJack Says:

Gotta build off this win. Them INTs were terrible. They nearly cost us this win and they will cost us if we wanna contend in this league.

You cannot win a playoff game with mistakes like those. Time to get better and grow into a playoff contender.

Winston needs to look around him and see that he has a team around him that can win. He must now find a way to limit the crap. Mistakes like those will eventually bury us if they don’t get corrected.

  5. SteveK Says:

Won in spite of Jameis. He’s s turnover machine. Never going to a super bowl
    With all those giveaways.

  6. Howard Cosell Says:

Lol Winston haters are either low intelligence, Gator fans or glaser shills (trying to help glasers avoid paying a big contract)

  7. Howard Cosell Says:

You geniuses did see how absolutely clueless Griffin looked out there….right?

  8. Bucco Says:

SteveK says “We won in spite of Jameis.” What an idiot.

  9. Ndog Says:

But I thought Mike Evans made Jameis?

  10. Sharthappens Says:

Makes you wonder if he took an Uber back to the locker room and for his thumb stuck in the crack.

  11. Mike Johnson Says:

Jameis ain’t changing. He is who he is. You gonna live and die with the guy. He does not give up though. He’s a true fighter who can come back on you at anytime. Being a Buc fan with him is not for the weak. Stay away from the Bucs if you have heart or anxiety problems or you can..Just get blitzcraiged on the sauce like me every game.

  12. ModHairKen Says:

Jameis won. Picks don’t erase Ws.

  13. Jean Lafitte Says:

First time out and dumb Howard is slamming Griff ..smh

  14. DB55 Says:

Without Mike Evans, JayMiss ATM WinsNot the human crableg and the greatest quarterback in the history of the buccaneers 🏴‍☠️, would be nothing!

Without ME Jaboo only throws for 395 yards 4TDs/ 2 Ints and a win, at home.

  15. Bobby Says:

I’d have to say we won BECAUSE of Jameis, not in spite of. We also nearly lost because of Jameis. I have a love/hate relationship with JW. He is maddening one minute and then you’re screaming “YES!” the next minute. Crazy game. Happy for a W.

  16. Sleepy903 Says:

I know JW turns the ball over but he makes throws that only 4-5 qbs in the league can make. No we wont win a superbowl with him turning the ball over. We also wont win one with a defense that isnt top 15. We also wont win one w/ a running game that is non existent.

Some things will fix themselves over time. As we see w/ the defense. The defense has gotten better and they preserved the win. If that can continue and we get a better running game you’d be surprised at the difference that makes. When you have a top notch running game the passing lanes tend to open up.

  17. Sharthappens Says:

    Bobby: u b dumb

  18. Don_RyJo(e) Says:

I’m still of the firm belief that the Buccaneers simply can’t become a contender (not in the division, not in the NFL at large) with such a wildly inconsistent quarterback. He’s entertaining, for sure, and it certainly is nice to have a win. But a quarterback like Winston taking a team all the way? Dream on.

  19. Ocala Says:

Jamies made mistakes in the game but he played incredible in leading the Bucs to a victory.
No running game, bad offensive line and he lost one of the top receivers in the NFL during the game.

  20. HeavyE Says:

    Go Bucs

  21. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

    23/2
    23 interceptions for Jay Miss
    2 for Patrick Mahomes
    Need I say more?

  22. Ed Says:

I don’t know how you can make a long term investment in such an up and down player but if the Bucs beat Houston and Winston continues to put up points the decision is tougher because he will have beaten 2 teams, Indy and Texans that had playoff urgency. The Colts were playing very hard and they made no mistakes.

The interceptions by Leonard were because he decided to throw into coverage and risk the turnovers. That’s the part of Jameis that is so disappointing, he can’t be blind to a LB dropping into a throwing lane.

In the end if the team finishes on a winning streak then it’s not right to not bring him back on a team-favorable deal and draft his replacement.

Having a young quarterback to sit for a season or two while the Bucs can try and win with Winston is good in my book. An 8-8 record with a QB that leads the league in turnovers isn’t ideal to bank the future on but with a young player to groom it would make sense to give Winston a short term “prove it again” contract that allows them to let him go after 2021 unless he gets a winning record.

Aaron Rogers and Jimmy Garrafolo sat behind veterans and how did that work out?

  23. Touchdown, Tampa Bay Says:

Y’all know Jamies is the sh!t!!!! Go Bucs!!!

  24. JimmyJack Says:

We did not win in spite of Jameis. Can’t say that with all the plays he made. We were however caught chasing the points his mistakes cost us the entire game.

Our defense held firm and Winston took advantage and did win us the game with great play in the clutch.

Problem is that if we wanna contend we can’t have those mistakes. Many compare Winston to Favre and Favre lost his teamany opportunities to contend for a title with multi pick games. Look up his playoff losses….true story. When Favre managed to limit the multi turnover games they won a title.

If we wanna contend we need Winston to do the same. Today was great but it will be a hard time coming to think we can win a playoff game with 4 turno ers as a team.

  25. unbelievable Says:

    Exactly Jimmy.

Also, J0e- Jameis had 5 TDs today. 4 passing 1 rushing.

  26. Anonymous Says:

Ed, the first Int wasn’t because Winston forced the ball into coverage, it was because JW never saw the LB drop back after he showed blitz. Winston has been fooled a lot with that.

  27. Alanbucsfan Says:

    ModhairKen-

Jameis won. Picks don’t erase Ws.

That is correct, so he better keep winning…

  28. Jameis Almighty! Says:

DB55 is a Jameis Basher. You must be miserable with Jameis playin winning football! Bunghole!

  29. TexBuc Says:

    win is a win

some may not remember the Bucs used to run, run, attempt to pass on 3rd and long, and then punt that was the offense 90% of the time. That is why Tony Dungy got fired for his refusal to open up the offense. Our offense with Winston is so much more entertaining to watch.

  30. jjbucfan Says:

True Tex, but Leftwich still runs on 1st down 80% or more. He has to get out of that predictable play calling

  31. Señor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

    @Jameis Almighty! Says:

    DB55 is a Jameis Basher…

Its sarcasm for all the trolls Almighty
