Eliminated

December 8th, 2019

“Next year, Mr. Glazer.”

The Bucs beat the Colts and upped their record to 6-7, but the season officially is over.

Minnesota’s win today in Detroit eliminated the Bucs from postseason contention.

The Bucs would lose a potential tiebreaker to the Vikings (9-4) for the final Wild Card spot because of conference record. The Packers also have 10 wins, so the Bucs can’t catch them.

That’s 12 consecutive seasons of no playoffs for Tampa. Only Cleveland has a longer streak.,

As we say in Tampa, wait ’til next year. And the way the Bucs are playing there might actually be a next year.

Could the Bucs (6-7) close out this season at 9-7? What a stunner that would be.

Dare to dream, Bucs fans. Joe sure hopes fans are at least enjoying and appreciating how potent the Bucs offense is.

We’re kinda use to it…after all, we have Jay Miss as our QB…that Giants game still haunts me…

  2. rrsrq Says:

season may be over, but damn it feels good to win, by hook or by crook

  3. Tye Says:

It seems to be the only time in a season when JW get multiple wins… when there is no pressure and nothing to play for… It is a win and at least the rest of the team is looking better.

  4. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Good!

    Loser bucs….

Bucs will always be losers as long as Winston is the QB and the GLAZERS are the owners

  5. Bucnut2 Says:

potent is not the way to describe this offense, self destructive is. Turnovers are killing this team and will print it from EVER realizing it’s potential.

  6. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Jameis always does this

He plays like there’s hope….. Then starts stinking it up next year…..

Same Ol song with Winston and this sorry arse team

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Now we can play for the draft……(not)

So… why are you here commenting. While Jamies is qb go cheer for the bengals, dolphins or browns.

  9. Rick Says:

not sure if the other guys want to keep playing spoiler every year. It feels good to win but all this leaves the fans with is false hope. I believe the bus are turning around, but the weak spot on this team is still at QB. Changes must still be made if they want to take advantage of these blossoming young core.

  10. JimmyJack Says:

Don’t care…..That was a huge win today. Was very disappointed in the lack of fundamentals to start but to overcome it was a showcase of pure resilience!!

Not the prettiest win in the world but one we can definitely build off. Can’t wait to see it unfold next week!!

    GO BUCS!

  11. The Buc Realist Says:

Wait until the sheep see next year’s schedule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bucs will be eliminated from the playoffs before December next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. SteveK Says:

This is why I want a new QB. Can’t pay top dollar for inconsistent results. Better utilization of resource would be to pay D and draft a cheap QB who doesn’t turn it over.

  13. SteveK Says:

Why can’t fans be mad that the team hasn’t made the playoffs in over ten years? Licht has had six. James has had five. Next!!!!

  14. tmaxcon Says:

    bucs were eliminated draft night

  15. Larry Says:

No matter how you slice it. JAMEIS WINSTON IS NOT WORTH STARTING QB MONEY!!! DEFINITELY NOT FRANCHISE MONEY. $12 million and lets see money is what he is worth. After 3 years in college and 5 years in the pros is this as good as he gets? He is what he is. He reminds me what they use to say about Nipsey Russell (basketball player). HE KEEPS BOTH TEAMS IN THE GAME!! 🙁 One cheap prove it year for Winston while the Bucs draft another QB.

  16. Buc4evr Says:

Wow crazy game. Jameis is insane and he drives Bucs fans crazy, but happy to win today. I was never expecting to go to the playoffs, but good to see the team moving in a positive direction for a change. something to build off of. This game had both good Jameis and bad Jameis- happy there was more good Jameis today.

  17. Adrnagy Says:

Rick … do you think Ryan griffin down 14pts and no Evans was going to win the game ?

Qb is not the weakest link. The RB and secondary are. But today even Winston throwing int the defense stepped up when needed. So build the defense specially safety and running game and Winston will be fine.

  18. martinii Says:

Three in a row feels good. I’ll take any victory cause fans got their money’s worth. Close entertaining game although Jameis did his usual “I’ll throw passes to anybody.” Somebody needs to tell him what color uniform we are wearing. Still good win now get three more.

  19. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ SteveK

Cause most Bucs fans are really stupid.

They think just because you win games that it’s good enough but they don’t see the OVERALL big picture.

Next year when the same crap repeats itself they’ll come up with even more excuses for either the players or the crappy Owners this Franchise has.

  20. Jean Lafitte Says:

Yeah WooHoo! …Winston can score for EVERYONE!!!

  21. Brandon Says:

    Anthem,

You just proved your own point. You were asked why you are here. You answered, “Cause most Bucs fans are stupid.” Now can you just STFU?

  22. Jean Lafitte Says:

If we’d played a top ten defense we would’ve been history today

  23. Mort Says:

Meaningful games in December. That happened this year somehow. It’s not a bad start for this regime. Definite improvement has happened across the board.

    Arrow up, as Joel said.

  24. Greg Says:

Hopefully our defense won’t be dead last for the first half of next season. If they can be average we’ll have a great shot at the playoffs

  25. Jcscycles Says:

Agree on the picks. First two were really ugly, third bad luck on a tip. My wife couldn’t take it any more and went outside to putter in the yard. But you know, he did bring them back, and win. Not everyone can do stuff like that. And his deep ball accuracy is really good now. Offer a two-three year contract tied to incentives, particularly turnovers/wins. The way it is around the league, noone will give him a multi year $100 million contract. The CBS crew were laughing at him after the game.

But we now know that Ryan Griffin is not the answer.

  26. Sharthappens Says:

Same dumb false hope for the ignorant base of fans year after year. We barely beat a team that has the most injuries to starters than any team in the league. We win by 21 if JW is not the starter.

  27. tmaxcon Says:

    Mort

Playoff games are meaningful sir not meaningless wins against teams fighting for 500 during another failed season

  28. Pa bucs fan Says:

Lol now we only won cuz the had injuries. You guys are pathetic and terrible fans lol.

Sign famous, our future. Hopefully the fake fans will disappear.

  29. JimmyJack Says:

Tax…..meaningless is nothing less then opinion. Don’t never forget that

  30. CPN Says:

At least the Bucs won today! WOO

  31. tmaxcon Says:

    JimmyJack

Dude your entitled to low standards…. beat good teams consistently then you can spout off

  32. Bobby M Says:

Is this news? We’ve had the league leader in turnovers for 5 straight years by a wide margin….You can’t consistently win in the NFL with turnovers at the pace Winston produces them. We got away with one today….that’s called a statistical outlier. The collective body of data/work shows that approach has overwhelmingly worked against us.

The real question is what does this team look like if the defense is playing at an elite level? Then what are the expectations when your QB constantly turns the ball over….giving away games? That’s the comical part to all of this discussion is Winston is going to change because the defense plays better, we’ll then be a 9-7 team hoping to inch our way into the playoffs due to superior defensive play with the no topic being how good could we be with a competent QB.

  33. snookman Says:

    Bucs won.

    Saints Lost.
    It was a great day!
8-8 is realistic 9-7 is going to make this season a success……..in August all I said was for Tampa to be competitive and respectable. We can with 2-3 I will be happy.

I don’t see us beating Houston even if we played like we did today

  34. Jameis Almighty! Says:

With Jason Licht as GM it’s a minor miracle the Bucs have won a game at all.

  35. Season Is Over Says:

The season was over on Columbus Day. Another year of embarrassment in the books.

  36. Jameis Almighty! Says:

Troll Smacker is my new favorite poster.

  37. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

You’re right for once Jameis Almighty! By the way, who drafted Jay Miss?
    BOOM!

  38. Anonymous Says:

LOL This season was over a month ago. You can always tell when the Bucs are out of contention because Winston starts playing better. Still not good enough to earn a contract as a franchise QB, but better. One less INT by Winston here or there, and they’d be 8-5 if not 94. Thanks Winston.

  39. Tval Says:

Haters don’t have an excuse anymore. Just love your qb. You don’t have a choice now…sorry. Lol!!! Merry Christmas

  40. Jameis Almighty! Says:

Where is the smoke for Gay… he makes me sweat 10X more than Jameis… his kicks are crooked and rarely true. Next year hopefully our kicker won’t be Gay.

  41. Bill Macy Says:

No quit in these bucs! They may not be the best but play hard all game. No slackers.

  42. 813bucboi Says:

    Realist

    This team doesn’t make excuses….screw the schedule…

You singing a different tune now chump

    GO BUCS

  43. T REX Says:

The Winston knob gobblers will be singing and dancing because they are all a bunch of losers like Winston.

    LOSERS.

  44. pryda...sec 147 Says:

Jameis going to be extended and all of you trolls going to be fan boys in no time lol 😂

  45. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Ok, we are eliminated, but we took the Colt’s with us. We more or less ended their season too, as payback for what they did to us here in Tampa once.
Does anyone remember that 44 point comeback, when Tony Dungy coached them ?
