Report: Jameis Alone With Uber Driver

June 22nd, 2018

An attorney for a convicted rapist claims Jameis Winston was alone with a female Uber driver in Arizona and that the notorious Ronald Darby was not a passenger.

Mark Scruggs, who represents former Vanderbilt cornerback Brandon Banks, told ESPN that Winston was sent home from a nightclub in the night in question because he was intoxicated and “unruly.“

“What happened after that,” Scruggs said, “they cannot say.”

Winston, per Scruggs, was partying with Banks and Darby.

The Uber ride Scruggs details was one of two Uber rides Winston had that night.

Banks was later convicted of rape and sexual assault and sentenced to 15 years in the hole for an incident that took place in June 2013.

If this allegation is true, it suggests Winston and Darby could have concocted a con and lied to the NFL.

Joe doesn’t know what to make of this.

Disappointed that JW3 may have torpedoed our season. We need him to take a huge step forward this year.

  2. Season Is Over Says:

Just think of how many of your own site visitors you bashed defending this guy.

  3. Buc believer Says:

I believe in Jameis and I believe this skank is just a gold digger!

  4. Jameis Dahmer Says:

This is it. This is the end of the road right here for Jameis Winston as the leader of the Buccaneers. Goodbye Jameis and Licht for starters. Koetter will be gone soon as well. What a terrible waste of a first overall pick.

  5. Dewey Selmon Says:

He has to go. Simple as that.

  6. Blue-footed booby Says:

So, who’s up for watching some college football this fall in search of our next starting quarterback? Oh, and there may well be a Super Bowl MVP winning quarterback out there to sign in free agency. I for one say that Nick Foles deserves to be called ‘America’s Quarterback’ much more than the crap show that is Winston.

    America’s Quarterback, Nick Foles!

  7. ben Says:

    If Winston flat out lied , bucs need a new qb.. No ,its not hate but he should NOT be face of the team..(if this is true??}

  8. Dewey Selmon Says:

Buc beleiver, His frinds has to send him away because Jameis can’t handle his alcohol. And he just happened to run into a gold digger? I feel bad for your mother.

  9. thunderchunkyPA Says:

He might have set this franchise back another 10 YEARS! How in the hell do you hang around with a guy like that, and put yourself in that spot after ALL the things that have been reported? What sucks is, the NFL took almost 8 months to come out with this. Would Licht have drafted a QB if hr KNEW this was coming? This just might have cost this team 2018 and a lot of people a job.

  10. Doug Says:

    Cut him now!! Scumbag.

  11. Greg Says:

Hes done! If this is true he CAN NOT suit up in a uniform ever again because this would mean his whole story is BS. Best guess is hes cut and bucs trade a 6th rounder to Arizona for Glennon who wont make the roster anyways. Probably during pre season.

  12. dexterOHMAN Says:

Sadly I think Jameis is done around here. His image is ruined and for good reason. Looks like bucs are back on the QB market sheesh

  13. thunderchunkyPA Says:

Could a trade for Teddy B in the works?

  14. Dewey Selmon Says:

I feel bad for Breion Allen, she is getting ready to have his baby and marry him.

  15. Marc Says:

    JOE,

Just as I speculated in a previous comment under the Darby article you penned less than a day ago.

    -Extremely pissed off Bucs fan

  16. SOEbuc Says:

LETZ GO FITZY!!! He wasn’t the worst of the worst in his time last year, so cheer him on!!!

  17. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Funny how is he now trying to make him self out to be a family man engaged and fiancee with child. All done shortly after all this came out. Disappointed is an understatement.

His little brother must be VERY proud.

  18. Jbravo Says:

Unreal, anyone who will continue to worship and defend this guy needs to realize it’s over .Winston was a train wreck for the bucs franchise.joe should apologize to all that tried to warn of the disaster #3 .

  19. Doctor Stroud Says:

After JW, Josh Freeman, and Doug Martin (three first round picks!), the Bucs should at least fire the security team investigating the backgrounds of drafted players. The franchise cannot afford any more first round mistakes due to character concerns, which clearly impact their ability to be on the field. Knowing the Glazers, they probably gave the investigators a raise! Please, Team Glazer, stop rewarding mediocrity. Help the GM help you! #PaidFloridaVacation

  20. Marc Says:

I fu c king HATE this a-hole! Pack your bags and pi$$ off, Winny!
    !

  21. Capt.Tim Says:

    So Darby was lying(again?)
You dont concoct a BS story with your buddy, unless you are guilty.

We really are the Browns south.
Now we have our Johnny Manziel.

  22. ATrain Says:

I hope this is not Josh 2.0.

    Winston now falls apart

Is this an isolated incident or have the Bucs done a great job of covering

Exactly what Winston haters where worried about

GREAT Winston and I bet YourSgent is adking for a multimillion dollar conyract
    Do we gamble???

  23. Tony LA Says:

I’m not going to crucify Winston until ALL the official facts and statements are made. But this looks devastating at the moment.

Man, if only there was a recent Super Bowl MVP QB available who is the backup on his own team.
But guys like that don’t exist, right?

    Call Philly.
    Make it happen.

  24. Mike Johnson Says:

Arizona..Wasn’t that the same place Sapp was nabbed? Zero tolerance out there baby! However, Jameis will be given another chance. Lets pray he makes good use of it. One more nasty strike though, And he will be History. The time is now Jameis. Buc players will rally around him. Just like we..need to rally around Fitz for those 1st 3 games. Of course IF..our Defense is as improved as they say it is, we have no worries..right?

  25. Chris Says:

Not only should Jameis be gone, it needs to be done soon. Licht is now really on the hot seat because he took a huge chance on him while Mariota could have been had and the safer pick. Koetter coming out last year saying her preferred Marcus may save him his job and his get out of jail free card.

  26. Chris Says:

Oh I think winston is getting the full 6. The report idc the winston camp is trying to strike a deal with the nfl for 3. What he did is worse than Brady deflating footballs and he got 4.

  27. Roy T. Buford Says:

From the day they drafted Jameis, I stated it wasn’t what he did in the public eye and during the season…we would see who he is when he’s alone and unsupervised during his first off season. The incident took place during his first offseason and away from the team. We know Jameis has run with some bad people. And it likes the bad people running with Jameis…may be running with bad people too. Looks more and more like Jameis is a BS artist. HOWEVER, let’s see how true all this is. And let’s then consider what else happens with this guy that doesn’t make the news.

  28. SchwiftyBuc Says:

Well here’s the thing, Even if every claim that the uber driver makes is true, it’s not like some egregiously violent offense. In my eyes, even if everything she says is true, the only thing Jameis is guilty of is being too drunk and trying (very poorly and inappropriately) to make a move on an attractive girl.

Not saying that’s totally fine and not a problem, but it’s not like he tried to force things beyond that or did anything heinously aggressive. Gimme a break. People have done FAR worse things under the influence of alcohol than place their hand lightly on someones junk for a few seconds.

  29. Kyle Says:

Trade for Foles. Offer first round picknext year, we know it will be a top 10 pick.

  30. Bradentonbuc Says:

Make or break year for Jameis. Anything less then his best year as pro and I wouldn’t pick up the option

  31. Bucnut2 Says:

I told EVERYONE this guy was a problem and guess what, he is. This pick set the franchise back at least 5 years.

  32. Chris Says:

    SchwiftyBuc,

I’d re-think before you type anything else. What winston did is against her will and absolutely disgusting. This now makes me think he got away with the erica kinsman trial, which I always thought was handled poorly by the school and police. Everyone else is probably thinking the same thing.

  33. Bucnut2 Says:

We should have signed Cousins or Keenum. Don’t want Foles but would trade fro Bridgewater.

  34. Dewey Selmon Says:

ScwiftyBuc, you don’t have a daughter do you? we are talking about sexual assault. And we are talking about someone who is on thin ice.

  35. Anonymous Says:

IF this is true, the guy is done and I will have zero respect for the Bucs keeping him around.

It’s one thing to be a young, drunken idiot; I suspect we all here can relate.

But to lie about it, I mean bald-face lies?

  36. Wesley Says:

    This doesn’t mean diddley squat.

  37. gambelero Says:

No wonder Winston’s camp was going to take the 3 games without appealing. Darby wasn’t lying; there were two separate Uber rides. And this is awfully close to Ira’s point of no return.

  38. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Here is a question Joe.

How can Jameis be “America’s QB” when he appears to be struggling to be Tampa’s QB?

If the team gives Jameis another chance he will be a much cheaper signing than planned…..Tampa may be the only team that would want him.

  39. Simeon Says:

The fan in me is disappointed. The dad in me hates Jamis Winston more than I already did. Cut losses and move on. Get a new qb ready to play with this stacked offense.

  40. Doctor Stroud Says:

“If this allegation is true, it suggests Winston and Darby could have concocted a con and lied to the NFL.” And, that’s when he was sober.

  41. stpetebucsfan Says:

I’ve read a slightly different take on Darby’s “presence”. Some have said Darby was in the car with Jameis at the start of the ride but he got out and wasn’t in the car during the time of the allegation.

There is only one silver lining to this. It’s only July 1st. We have some time to make a decision. Is it fish or cut bait?

On one hand the franchise has invested all this time and money and it appears to many that Jamies is ready to finally pay dividends…on the other hand we have a repeat (fill in the blank…aggressor or victim of fake charges) How much confidence do we have that Jameis has put all of this behind him.

What will the 2018 season look like without Jameis…for three games or what if the Bucs trade him for a load of draft picks next year.

I’m NOT saying we should do this. Just pointing out that you can be sure one of the options being viewed at OBP is trading Jameis for a bunch of picks…putting our faith in the newly rebuilt defense and our newly refurbished running game. Those two combined when played well can produce lots of close wins.

I would not want to be Licht and Koetter this evening. Do they double down and put all their chips on the table on Jameis? Or do the they hedge their bets and give up while they still have a season to show how they’ve done with the rest of the team.

I believe in Jameis and I believe this skank is just a gold digger!

Dude do you not get it? Jameis Lied. End of story. Not what innocent people do.

  43. Im tired and 87 is right Says:

Jameis isn’t going anywhere still no proof or facts. Most people bashing Jameis I have never seen on here before so we get your true motive. No surprise Bucnut is back. It’s not anyone’s place to judge but we are all great at pointing the finger these days. Grow up folks, and let the legal process play out. One day you might be judged, and you better hope forgiveness is in your favor. Go Bucs! Stick together Bucs!

  44. Steven007 Says:

Hey Joe, I can’t believe it took you this long to lose the idiotic America’s quarterback bs. Can we trust that this will be the end of that? Fingers crossed.

  45. stpetebucsfan Says:

Here is a summation of “allegations” by various people the evening in question.
NONE of these people…including the girl Kate…have filed any suits or in any way tried to extort money.

It has been reported that Jameis and Darby were out partying and Jameis got toasted and so they decided to send him home…in an Uber…at least they were smart enough not to drive.

Then Katy reported that drunken Jameis yelled homophobic slurs out of her car window and then grabbed her.

I believe there are some here who believe three games for crotch grabbing is probably a fair punishment for a bad but not career ending act. Others believe any girl so violated means the guy should lose more than just three games.

Now I might get busted for bringing politics into this conversation but that is not my intents. But there are some facts in our land that in fairness would make us all look at whatever Jameis did in a different light.

How bad was what Jameis did? The President of the United States is on the record…ON TAPE…boasting of sexual assault and pssy grabbing. If the President of the U.S. can do it without repercussion…surely three games is more than enough for the QB of the Tampa Bay Bucs. The older I get the crazier society gets…it’s just bizarro world

  46. Bird Says:

    Pickrin , Webster , db55 , lamarcus

And others who called people idiots for criticizing Jameis. Shame shame

You guys looks awesome right now. Think lamarcus called Jameis a hall of famer. Hall of shame is more like it.

  47. Bird Says:

remember tmax saying Jameis was best thing to happen to this organization. Most important player ever.

    Damn he is wrong again.

  48. Maze Says:

If true this guy is such a clown.

  49. Buc believer Says:

I bet anything this bitch put her hand on Jameis first and Jameis being a man said “yeah what the hell!” This chick is a money grabber! She drives for Uber for Gods sake!

  50. Bird Says:

    Dear Jameis

This idiot fan base does not deserve you

    Love,
    Webster. Xoxoxo

Ps I don’t deserve to post here anymore

  51. Red86 Says:

Darby was the first one that said that he was in the car with another person. I don’t recall Jameis saying there was multiple people in the car with him. We still don’t know what happened. No real proof that he did what he was accused of doing. But, it does put a stain on his image as it is today. Right now I wouldn’t get rid of him.

  52. Alanbucsfan Says:

A young man parties, probably gets intoxicated and possibly acts stupidly with an Uber driver and doesn’t follow NFL protocol in reporting the incident, -forget all the self appointed judges and juries who are coming to conclusions without evidence – again, the so-called victim never called police, so I doubt if this got to level of sexual assault
He is facing suspension, loss of pay, additional NFL mandates and public humiliation.
Maybe Jameis has a problem with handling alcohol? Seems to me with his recent public service philanthropy activities, he is trying to change into a positive person.
Let him take his punishment and then see how he moves forward.
For his sake, I hope he realizes he can’t have any more “incidents” or his football career is in jeopardy. Bucs won’t give up on him now and wins will make fans forget pretty quick- this season is key for Jameis future with Bucs

  53. Tampabaybucfan Says:

My posts are being delayed so this may be a repeat…

    My question for Joe is:

How can Jameis be “Americas QB” when he is apparently struggling to be Tampa’s QB”?

  54. unbelievable Says:

Which one of these shady mofos do you believe?

    Winston, Darby, or Banks?

  55. Bird Says:

He was unruly at bar. He was drunk as hell. Bet he doesn’t even remember that night.

Non married horny dude. Sitting shotgun. Clicked off with a female uber driver sitting next to him. None of his friends to keep an eye on him/his actions.

    Yah. I could see it.

  56. The Buc Realist Says:

This is a huge problem for the Bucs!!!!! Like joe hinted at earlier, how do you trust this guy!!!! I know that there will be players in the locker room that won’t!!!!!!!!!! Whether it be about the incident, or the plea deal or the cover up!!!!!

The sage can write all the stand up straight and buckle your chin strap stories he wants!!!!! How does this help the Bucs!!!!!!

Do you think the offense will be sharp when after the Bye week, JW3 has played 1 game in two months??????????

This season is heading towards disaster and will likely Clean out One Buc!!! So Joes, say goodbye this season to the older vets that likely will be caught in the new “Purge”!!!!!!!!!!

    @Joe
can we get a top 10 list of up and coming NFL GM’s????????? might as well start preparing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  57. unbelievable Says:

Yup rhealist I said the same thing yesterday when i heard the news.

This is gonna make a ton of players and staff lose their jobs…

  58. Capt. Blighe Says:

Yeah Scwifty 15 years ago you would have been right. But now they want you to ask your baby before you change it’s diaper. He’s done in Tampa.

  59. Bird Says:

    Red 86

Jameis corroborated story that 3 people in car and that him and Darby were in back seat So he did lie.

Darby is same witness in college sexual assault case that said Jameis did nothing

  60. Bird Says:

Wonder if they go after foles or teddy bridgewater
They are in 1 year deals.

Bucs coaches and GM are meeting right now I think Jameis is done. He lied to employers who stuck up for him since he was drafted. No trust.

  61. DB55 Says:

Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.

Seems to me like OBP has a serious leadership problem. This is 1 in a long history of Fock ups. Talib, freeman, Martin etc

And I seriously do hope they trade him, this relationship is done.

  62. jmarkbuc Says:

    Schwifty

All you have to ask yourself is what if it was your daughter?

  63. Dewey Selmon Says:

I wonder if Kwon is going to send out another tweet now defending Winston.

  64. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

  65. Tampabaybucfan Says:

  66. Joe Says:

How can Jameis be “Americas QB” when he is apparently struggling to be Tampa’s QB”?

When he no longer moves the needle like does.

  67. Blue-footed booby Says:

DB55 no team will trade for Winston. Not one team. The real question would be is would any NFL team even bother to sign Winston at this point? My guess would be no because it would not be wise to spend money and taking up training camp reps for a guy that will be suspended multiple games this season.

  68. Kgh4life Says:

    Trade a 3rd for Flacco

  69. Oneilbucs Says:

Man this is bad. The fans on this site wants him gone they never wanted him no way . If I’m Winston I will just leave and go play baseball. The NFL just don’t care about there players. Any women can just say he touch me and he will get suspended , and they don’t need proof that’s the real problem in to me. We as bucs fans need to have his back just like the Steelers did for big Ben. He had 2 sexual assault in 1 year’s time. But his team and most of his fans n the media still gave him a chance he was convicted he had to go to criminal court for it and he paid off 2 females. So I say let’s see what happens after this is over . If he do something else are get him self and trouble again then let’s move on. I say let Griffin n fiz compete for the first three games we don’t know what Griffin can do let them fight for it . I know fizpatrick ain’t beaten none of the first three games. So let the best man win the job. That’s the way football use to be .

  70. Buc believer Says:

@jmark… my daughter would not lie like this troll obviously did and try to get rich by making a false claim… and if you say she hasn’t sued yet what the hell did she hire the SAME lawyer out of Tallahassee as the other lying skank?

  71. Red86 Says:

When the incident first came out Jameis didn’t say he was with other passengers. He said it was false and he stop talking about it. That what I remember.

Darby said he was with him with another person.

  72. Jeffbuc Says:

The only good thing out of all this for the bucs is they can probably lock him into a second contract right now for about half of what it would have cost and make it performance driven contract with low yearly salaries where we can dump him if he does anything else stupid or keeps turning the ball over at a record pace. Because I think him and his agent would jump all over a contract right now with all the release him now talk. Josh Rosen is looking a lot better than Vita Vea right about now. I have been a big time defender of jameis but he just can’t keep doing these dumb things. But I know first hand having a child will make him grow up real quick and if not he never will. What I read as soon as he got in the Uber ride he rolled down the window and was yelling homophobic slurs out the window.

  73. Ndog Says:

Jameis should be embarrassed and he let down so many that trusted and put their faith in him. I am disgusted and hate that I believed in him. I will never see him the same or trust him again.

  74. Rob Says:

I’m all for second chances. That’s why I was ok the Bucs took Winston first overall, even with his checkered past. Now, the Bucs have to sleep in the proverbial $hit they created by rolling snake eyes with Winston. No more chances for this immature, lying, stealing, entitled, sexual predator who cannot change his stripes. Licht will lose his job over this pick, not because Winston can’t play quarterback with the great on the field skill set God blessed him with, but because he is not worthy or able to carry the weight of franchise qb. Cut him outright. Admit your mistake. Send a message to the fans, the NFL, and everyone else that the Buccaneers will not support this type of behavior, even it means losing a few more games. Let’s play with the players we can be proud of, not the ones we have to make excuses for year in and year out. Enough coddling these millionaire idiots who don’t respect anyone or anything. Go Bucs!

  75. AlteredEgo Says:

Jameis has let his teammates and the whole organization down… along with the fans…. I am only holding back because the official NFL report has not been made available… all of the discussion is from bits and pieces of story from those with inside connections…

  76. Roy T. Buford Says:

@Oneilbucs…no one outside of prison would say what you did. Have his back? You are nuts.

  77. I’m a Tandyman Bucs Fan Says:

Hell we would be better off with Johnny Football!!!! Go get Manziel, he’s not a Crotch Graber !!!! He’s learned his lesson and is no longer a Party Animal!!

  78. JameisNOT Says:

Hahahahaha. Told you so Joe. Keep blocking me. You must be using Hillary’s email server.

  79. Roy T. Buford Says:

@Red86…Jameis said the driver was confused about the number of people in the car and where he was sitting, and he was confident nothing happened. And of course, Kate’s lawyer said Jameis was the one confused. And Jameis did this….allegedly…while sober. Not sure we know that either.

  80. Buc-Up Says:

Darby should also be suspended for lying and tarnishing the NFL!

  81. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

How can anyone call her a gold digger when she hasn’t asked for a dime???

  82. Chris in WA Says:

I remember when this story broke day one that most people were glossing over the fact that he was drunk and yelling obscenities out the window of the car, and that the Winston camp didn’t deny this.

That kind of behavior alone part of the reason Johnny Manziel is playing in the CFL right now. The last thing the organization needs is a cell phone video of him doing stupid stuff coming out of a bar after midnight and yelling an explicit tirade ending up on TMZ. You have to wonder if all the Charity stuff Winston has been doing over the years has been him trying to sooth a guilty conscious. I hate that I am now questioning what else we don’t know.

O.J. Simpson was well liked by the media and fans prior to 95 and had many defenders from USC and the NFL who refused to believe that he could do any wrong. I wasn’t old enough to appreciate that case then but it’s shocking how many people don’t realize how big a deal this is now.

  83. Bobby B Says:

Say goodbye to Winston and Licht.

  84. Roy T. Buford Says:

@Buc-up. Got a feeling Darby’s turn is next. He and Eagles aren’t saying a word.

    CENTRAL AMERICA, ITS CENTRAL AMERICA

  87. SOEbuc Says:

Defensive shutdown and RoJo doin a 100+ yard game first three weeks!

  88. Roy T. Buford Says:

@Chris in WA…most troubling is the thought that Jameis may be a BS artist. He knows when being watched what to say, and what to do, how to act. He knows how he is supposed to be. The model citizen. But guys calling him a “kid” at 24 years old and him never actually facing the music is not going to get him right. You used the OJ example. I look at the Taliban example. The only thing worse than the Taliban who doesn’t know better because he’s not lived in this country…is an American who knows better and still takes up with them. No, not saying Jameis is terrorist. Saying it’s worse he knows better and has concealed who he really is. We’ll see.

    Winston, Darby, or Banks?

    Lol

  91. Buccfan37 Says:

The drama is flowing over the top. If Winston is out 3 games let him prove his mettle when he returns to play out the season. Reading some of these responses some would think a major crime has been committed. Winston deserves the chance to right any past wrongs. See how his upcoming season goes and make any changes based on his play on the field in games that count. This is what I think will happen.

  92. Bucnjim Says:

Your entire life is filled with decision making and you learn by making mistakes. This applies to everyone in society not just athletes. I have made as many mistakes as anyone here that’s for sure! The thing is I’ve learned from my mistakes as do most people. There comes a time when you are an adult (even when you are hammered) that you say I have to go…..Too much at stake! The voice in your head says I will lose everything.

  93. Chris in WA Says:

When drafting Winston, we knew 3 things:

    1. He found ways to will his team to win at FSU.
    2. He threw a lot of interceptions even though he was talented
    3. He had many questionable off the field issues.

Now which of these 3 things did Winston carry over to the NFL?

  94. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Winston, Darby and Banks walk in a bar..

And for those still defending this POS, what the heck is wrong with you??? Do you not like females in general? Did you have a bad relationship with your mommy? Good lord..how much more evidence do you want!!??

JAMEIS LIED!!!!! The INNOCENT don’t lie..the GUILTY do!! Just ask my husband who served 28 years as a LEO!

  95. mark2001 Says:

Drunk…unruly….alone in the car with the driver? Wow…quite a bit different than what we had heard. Too many lies..to much attempt to avoid it, report it, and deal with it. It has all the earmarks of a real scandal. Three games? Sounds like an relatively short suspension, more than fair, at this point.

  96. AlteredEgo Says:

Passthebuc… you made me …and I’ve been sitting on a plane on the tarmac at ATL for and hour and a half waiting for air traffic to allow planes south due to weather….

  97. Bobby M. Says:

The hits will just keep coming….Winston would be smart to accept whatever deal the NFL is laying out. There’s no telling what dirt the Bucs have uncovered on Winston over the last few years but i can assure you with a $100 million contract on the horizon, they didn’t stop doing their homework after the draft ended.

People have been wondering why its taken so long…..I believe the NFL/Bucs deliberately took their time to see if any other females come forward. They’ve probably been letting these clowns dig their own holes as deep as possible….With all that, i believe Fitzpatrick is equal to Blake Bortles and the Jags went pretty far with that dude. There’s still a season to be played….a lot can happen in training camp, in preseason and once the season starts. If the Jags could do it with Bortles….it can be done with Fitzpatrick.

How can Jameis be “Americas QB” when he is apparently struggling to be Tampa’s QB”?

When he no longer moves the needle like does.
    ____________
Joe………That is pathetic! You call him “America’s QB” when he moves the “needle” basically based off of negative, childish, immature, and maybe criminal behavior.?.?
Simply pathetic defending that title you came up with.

I’m extremely confused now. So this was one of two Uber rides according to the third guy so it was a ride to the club with two other guys that he paid for then a ride to his hotel alone when the incident happened? How could he possibly think no one could find that out? Uber could easily come out and confirm how many roses and the times he took them…..I honestly think everyone already knows this information within the NFL office and bucs organization

He came out and immediately denied the allegations and said she was confused about how many people or who was in the car.

Yeah so he now has 2 women accusing him of sexual misconduct before he is even 24. Coincidence I bet. I am 52 and have yet to be accused. Dam what am I doing wrong.

  103. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    @jMARKbuc
I know that if it were my daughter that went through the exact same circumstances, she would be completely fine in the long run. People are not fragile beings incapable of living through trivial adversity caused in relatively harmless situations like that.

Now if he had taken it a step further and try to force her to do something beyond her consent, different story altogether. Basically what I view the situation as is Jameis having being drunk, misreading signals, and having extremely poor “game”.

Assuming her claim is 100% correct, no great injustice has occurred.

So, assuming her assertion is 100 percent true, which it very may well not be considering the lack of concrete evidence, he put his hand in extremely inappropriate spot over her jeans for 3-5 seconds while intoxicated, and then stopped immediately upon realizing she’s wasn’t into it.

I personally feel like that series of events, while morally questionable certainly cannot be conflated with the R word or even assault. Had he continued beyond that, different story.

I don’t hate women, I respect them and think that it is our duty as men to protect women, but this was simply just a case of a guy showcasing poor judgement and bad game under the influence of alcohol. Drunk women themselves participate in that kind of behavior in bars and clubs all across the world every weekend, and they don’t deserve to have their careers ruined because of it. Nor does Jameis.

At the risk of inviting unrelenting ridicule, I believed that Jameis was innocent and was apoplectic that the NFL would suspend Jameis if he was innocent of the groping. I know that no one will believe someone who has such a history of making unsubstantiated Claims, but I really did think he was innocent.

  127. SB Says:

And thank god for that.

I’d personally hate to live in a society that blindly persecuted against the accused, and didn’t allow for second chances. Especially young men who are dumb and drunk.

Like I’ve asserted numerous times, even if Jameis did exactly what this uber driver says he did, he hasn’t committed a violently egregious, unforgivable offense for which he should have his career destroy. And if you do, I’m thankful that you aren’t the guy making those kind of decisions.

What swiftybuc says is right. You might be a lot older then this new generation. But now that is just making a move on a girl. He didn’t fondle her or anything just put his hand there if she was alright with it then he knew he could have a chance of getting some out of town booty while he was drunk. She told him what are you doing he stopped. In my eyes he is making a move he skipped first and second base and went right for third and got denied and stopped. I’m sure you never tried to get to second or third base in your lifetime and got denied. So you did the same thing winston did. I’m sure being drunk had a lot to do with skipping first and second and getting right to the point. As a franchise qb should he have acted like that. No he shouldn’t have he has to know anything he does will be front page news. But If this was a college kid around the same age as jameis did this you never would have heard about it ever. And I’m sure this happens all the time. You guys are acting like he sexually assaulted this girl or something. So now if you try to kiss a girl and she says no you could be arrested for sexual assault. Personally if some drunk chick at the bar came and kissed me in the mouth I would be more pissed then if she grabbed my junk through my jeans. Funny how Peyton Manning T bags a dr and not that big of deal. How Brett favre sends picture of his penis to an employee of the team and not that big of deal. I wonder why that is. What do those three NOT have in common. I believe 3 game suspension 125k in lost salary and all the embarrassment he is enduring is more than enough punishment. Kicked out of the league or prison like some are saying really.

  141. SchwiftyBuc Says:

3-5 SECONDS! That is enough time for a couple of blinks. And guess what, regardless of whatever hypothetical worst case scenario you can drum up, NONE OF THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED. Every thing you just mentioned about further violence is hypothetical posturing.

Just want to remind you again that none of this has been proven, and Jameis very well may be completely innocent. But even if it did happen,He made an ill advised move in poor taste, was shot down, and did nothing else.

Not exactly the actions of a depraved criminal. You are not perfect nor am I. So don’t be so quick to judge and condemn someone who as a 22 was accused of making a 3-5 second mistake under the influence of an intoxicant shown to make people do things they normally wouldn’t do.

  158. SchwiftyBuc Says:

I’ll say again, the only truly serious accusation of the ones you are dredging up, the E.K. Incident, he has been vindicated of in numerous judicial proceedings.

Yelling out mildly profane memes in a college cafeteria and playing with BB guns aren’t exactly evil offenses now are they?

You said yourself you spent time in prison. People make mistakes when they are young and immature. Just as people make mistakes when they drink too much alcohol.

  159. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

  162. Season Is Over Says:

    Gruden sure dodged a bullet.

  163. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    @LifeofBucsfans

Even if this issue had never surfaced and our record was the same, we’d still be a laughing stock.

Are the Steelers a laughing stock because they stuck with Big Ben through far worse? Were the Lakers a national laughing stock during the Kobe trials? No. Because they were winning and winning Rings. That’s all the average fan is capable of considering when judging teams that they don’t follow.

Also, he was 22 when this happened. And I would argue that the work he has done in this community for young kids and people in need FAR outweighs a 3-5 second mistake he MAY have made while drunk.

    Sorry.

  164. Bucnjim Says:

    Schwifty,
I agree with a lot of what you say! The problem is when you are a professional athlete of any kind you need to know better. Since he has been accused before of not only this but other incidents he should have been concentrating on being a model citizen. Not learning from your past is a troubling trait for everyone.

  165. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    @Capt Blige

The mental gymnastics you had to go through to formulate that statement are truly impressive.

So what your saying is, it’s no big deal for a guy openly admitting to doing the same thing that Jameis is being accused of doing, but Jameis hypothetically doing the same thing, that’s just unacceptable.

Really? I just take a big deep breath and think that through.

  166. SB Says:

I live in Montana and I am the only Bucs fan in town. I have talked to 5 other football fans today, not a great number I know, but Every one of them said the same thing: He failed to report the incident when he knew he was accused of sexual indecency( which he has already been charged of to a larger degree) and he let Everyone believe the girl was lying about him being the only one in the car. Guilty.

  167. SB Says:

The difference is that some people accept the advances while other refuses. Flirting verbally is sexually harassment. Obviously touching is S.H..

“IF” Jameis did that and stop immediately, then it just simply he was rejected and respected the driver personal space.

But again it’s pointless speculating when we don’t know the whole story nor has the NFL official suspended Jameis.

  170. Blue-footed booby Says:

No SchwiftyBuc, that 3-5 seconds ‘mistake’ you call it as is a nice way of saying sexual assault. Sorry Schwifty but that suspension is coming and none of those community events Winston does will ever outweigh a case of sexually assaulting a human being.

  171. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    @SB

Ok? And here’s what I’m saying, even if he is guilty, it’s not anywhere near as big of a deal as you and other people who have been and are clearly still for the most part Anti Jameis are making it out to be.

Making an inappropriate move under the influence of alcohol, and immediately stopping upon being rejected doesn’t make someone a crazed sex criminal. How’s that so difficult of a concept to grasp?

  172. lightningbuc Says:

Also, he was 22 when this happened. And I would argue that the work he has done in this community for young kids and people in need FAR outweighs a 3-5 second mistake he MAY have made while drunk.

    WHOS THE LOON NOW?!

  174. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    @Blue-footed booby

It’s clear that we fundamentally disagree on the definition of what does and does not constitute sexual assault. Had Jameis, who AGAIN has been convicted of zilch, disregarded her rejection, and had he tried to force himself upon her violently against her consent, that would constitute sexual assault.

What he’s been accused of is an inappropriate failed pick up attempt under the influence of alcohol, and nothing more.

Jesus I feel like I’m arguing with the Gulag.

  175. Capt. Blighe Says:

If your hangin with your boys and you say “I would kill that MF’er”
You really think thats the same as actually Killing somebody.

  176. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    @Lightningbuc

Again, Jameis has been vindicated in court and found innocent NUMEROUS times for the E.K. incident. So even if this event is true, it would be his first not second.

Also, as I mentioned in my previous comment, the accusation posed by Kate the Uber driver is not sexual assault.

  177. SB Says:

Man Schwifty you are slow. You MUST take in a person’s past in order to give them a pass or not
A one time incident by a 22 yr old is Totally plausible. Same said incident by someone who has already been charged for r a pe and several other transgressions who totally tried to cover it up is kinda a different animal. SMH

    Start over.

  179. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    @Capt. Blighe

Very poorly thought through analogy. By the way heres some quotes from the grab em’ transcript.

    Pres:You know and …

Unknown: She used to be great. She’s still very beautiful.

Pres: I moved on her, actually. You know, she was down on Palm Beach. I moved on her, and I failed. I’ll admit it.

    Unknown: Whoa…

    … Maybe it’s a different one.

Bush: It better not be the publicist. No, it’s, it’s her, it’s —

Pres: Yeah, that’s her. With the gold. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.

    Bush: Whatever you want.

Pres: Grab ’em by the p***y. You can do anything.

    ————————————————–

Ok so say they were talking about murder as you say, this would be the equivalent of a confession. Like I said, if you voted for our current president, and had no issue with these statements, and you are still skewering Jameis, you are deeply biased and incredibly hypocritical.

By the way I’m a small l libertarian with mostly conservative values and views. I didn’t vote for the guy, but I’m also not a hypocrite.

  180. SB Says:

If you have been already charged with r a pe and are going out to a bar to get lit and you worth 20 mil or so you pay a designated driver or call the NFL as they have a system in place. You don’t let your supposed buddies throw you into a car at 2 am with a lone female. Sheer Stupidity. Lack of a good support team too I might add.
However Knowing that Uber suspended you for what COULD potentially be your Second sex charge and not getting ahead of yourself shows what?
    “Anyone? Anyone?”

  181. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

So let me get this straight.
    1. Was both Uber driver’s female?
    2. Which one was Kate the accuser?
    3. The 3rd dude was a friend of Darby’s?
    4. The 3rd dude was only an aquaintance to Jameis?
    5. Dude and Darby sent JW home drunk in another Uber?
    6. Did they put him in the front or back?
    7. And the person who came forward, did not want JW to get away with blaming Darby’s friend?
WOW…yes he is guilty for being drunk with Darby and not telling the NFL he was drunk and not driving…guilty as presumed by ALL the righteous people on this site!

  182. DBS Says:

User name changes are great. But the people always write the same.

  183. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    @SB

Dude you are making yourself look incredibly bad and biased right now when you say things like he’s been charged for the R word. Again, HE’S BEEN FOUND INNOCENT IN SEVERAL COURT PROCEEDINGS!

And the other incidents you’re referencing are hardly that of a psychotic & evil criminal not worthy of the benefit of the doubt.

  184. SB Says:

How anyone can not see that Since he had already been charged for a sex crime and Uber let him know that he could possibly be charged with a second one and him NOT doing anything about it is alarming is beyond me. I mean is your IQ equal to your shoe size??

  185. SB Says:

Schwifty you are exactly the retard I am talking about
TELL me Straight faced that a person that is accused of a sex crime in a high profile case but not charged and convicted with all the world’s eyes on you shouldnt take extra steps to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
    Tell Me.

  186. SchwiftyBuc Says:

I’ll maintain that your logic is incredibly flawed SB. He was accused by a self described cleat chaser, and was found innocent numerous times. The fact that he was accused has no relevance on future non-related incidents, which by the way are of an incredibly less severe nature.

  187. SB Says:

    *accused* not charged.

  188. Red86 Says:

Jameis was never charged of anything. smh. If he was charged he would be in jail or prison. What many are referring to is actually allegations.

People on this thread badly need to look up the different from sexually harassment and sexually assault.

The driver didn’t say Jameis threaten her or had a weapon forcing her to allow him to touch her. (That example is sexual assault. fyi.)

She said he touched her and stop after she told him to stop. (This is sexual harassment that was refused by the recipient.)

  189. SB Says:

Hey Scwifty……..if you can’t answer the question and admit that covering up why his account was suspended then I have no further need to read your comments or respond to you

  190. SchwiftyBuc Says:

Holy… 2 factors, 22 years old, and drunk. He didn’t assault anyone, he is being accused of inappropriate conduct, not another R word allegation.

I guess the difference between me and you is that I firmly believe that people should be viewed as innocent until proven guilty. And you seem to believe that once anyone is accused that they are and always will be horribly tarnished and impure individuals.

  191. SB Says:

What was Jameis’ biggest knock on him going into the draft”
    Character flaws
What is Jameis in hot water for right now?
    Character flaws

  192. SB Says:

    Hey Schwifty
Question 2 Did he try to cover it up or not?
    Simple question

  193. University of Seffner Says:

It’s truly a sad situation. Whether Jameis Winston is guilty or innocent, he’s in need of prayer. If he’s guilty, pray that he’ll learn from his mistakes, that he’ll have a change of heart, and for the punishment to be what it should be. If he’s innocent, pray that he’ll be able to put this mess behind him, for him not to be overwhelmed by the attention and hate he’s getting, and for the punishment to be served towards the Uber Driver for all the Defemation that has occurred due to her allegation towards him.

  194. SchwiftyBuc Says:

I also am a firm believer that the punishment should fit the crime. Considering that I view this to be a rude and improper incident, and not an egregious criminal offense if it’s even true, which again, you refuse to admit that it still very well not be true. That being said, a 3 game suspension costing 125k is more than fair.

  195. SB Says:

Amen Seffner. Thanks for helping me realize what I am missing in all of this.

  196. jmarkbuc Says:

How did the original story break?

Who had this info to leak? The Girl? Uber?

  197. SchwiftyBuc Says:

You’re begging the question first of all, because if I answer yes he did try to cover it up, that immediately implies that he is guilty.

You could also see the perspective of someone innocent of this accusation viewing taking the same course of action.

  198. SB Says:

Actually that shows your attention span. I asked you two questions and told you if you can’t answer them then you are not worth debating against

  199. SchwiftyBuc Says:

Also SB, just for future reference, avoid resorting to ad hominem attacks of someones character, intelligence, or intentions when making your argument.

It only serves to weaken your stance.

  200. SB Says:

I would acquiesce to that incredible nugget of argument management but…….Just telling the truth buddy.

  201. Navfree17 Says:

To all you “Regular Poster’s”, who like to call people out, who do not post on the reg, like you are some sort of mob bosses and will not respect someone else’s opinion due to some weird/cult mentality. Please, hear me out: I have been reading this site for over 5 years, and I love the feedback and coverage JBF does, listen to the podcasts/JP and all.

LifeOfABucsFan: I respect that your husband is a LEO of 28 years. I am a male/veteran and current fire/medic for 7 years. I Uber on the side sometimes on my downtime. I have had my ass/crotch/arms grabbed by male/female people who were intoxicated, while on the job and driving.. I chalk it up to being intoxicated/drugged up and I actually appreciate the fact that they called for a ride, instead of driving/DWI, which kills people. Facts aside, he has made a woman feel I am not defending Jamies. He lied, not a good look…especially with his past. But, we are crucifying him, without all the facts. Can’t wait till the report is published..before passing judgement. And, i get what people are saying about how they have never been accused of what Jameis has/age wise. Did you take into consideration, everyone’s life/path is different than yours.

  202. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

Are we really trying to turn this into a cover up! The next time one of you get drunk and act the fool…make sure Monday morning go tell your boss and co-workers.

Yeah right…in my experience people who throw stones and shout with the largest protest are some of the biggest p…. grabbers. #METOO!

  203. SchwiftyBuc Says:

So anyone who doesn’t ascribe to your incredibly biased viewpoint is a retard. Got it. Any other pearls of wisdom you want to s*** out while I’m still here?

Difference is he is the Number One overall Draft pick. already accused of sexual misconduct, who is employed by the NFL and finds out his Uber account is suspended for a sexually inappropriate behavior and does nothing.
This isn’t like you or me.

  205. SB Says:

Hey Schwifty, I asked you two simple questions a second grader could answer. You avoided both of them like the plague. Do you have any idea what debating is about?
Just leave me alone with all of your opinions if you can’t point and counter-point.

  206. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    @SB

Oh ok I got, so because he was drafted number 1 over means that he stop’s being an intrinsically flawed, imperfect human just like all the rest of us?
Do you actually believe in the fairly tale nonsense you’re posting right now dude?

I’ll say again, even if Jameis is 100 percent guilty of this, which again, he may not be guilty of anything… Even if he is guilty, that doesn’t mean that we move on from him.

What Jameis has put on the field here when healthy, has been incredibly promising, and he does a great deal of good in the Tampa community. So what exactly are you suggesting be done beyond his 3 game suspension?

  207. BB Says:

Well this shows the folks that supported him at FSU and wanted to draft him are idiots I literally called Jason light weight begging him to take Marcus

  208. Bird Says:

Who is swiftybuc formally known as?

Obviously huge Jameis supporter who had to change name cause he called people idiots for criticizing Jameis …

Anyone have a guess? Cause this name is new.

  209. SchwiftyBuc Says:

Well SB, from what I can see, you asked me one question about Character concerns which you answered yourself. And an extremely loaded question.

But ok, as I’ve said to you already, if Jameis is guilty of the accusations levied against him, and he covered it up. I still say that it’s not that big of a deal. I’ve made that abundantly clear throughout this entire discourse. Which effectively rendered your question redundant.

Enough of a counter point for you sonny jim?

  210. NMBucsFan Says:

Right, right, so the attorney for a convicted sex offender, whom Darby and Winston said was in the passenger seat, said that his client was innocent and it was all Winston…… should definitely take his word as gospel. I didn’t realize a convicted sex offender had damning evidence against Winston, that changes everything…. not!

Im not saying he’s innocent, but did Ezekiel Elliott get dropped by his team and blacklisted for absolutely (video evidence) yet with Winston, who might’ve done something according to a chick who didn’t care enough to report it to the cops, just to tmz, he’s immediately definitely the worst person ever and needs to get cut and people need to get fired for picking him…. you’re idiots if you’re ready to ruin this dude’s (and others) lives over this

Thank you for adding yet another sensible viewpoint to this discussion.

  213. Bird Says:

Some of you still don’t get it

Put aside whether he grabbed her crotch or not .

He blatantly lied to the organization who had to bend over backwards and continuously support him for His past prior poor decisions . The same organization that was going to invest 100 million dollars in him.

How can you trust him going forward.

Just like asking a woman to marry you after she just cheated on you with your best friend.

  214. BrianBucs Says:

If Winston did to the female Uber driver exactly what he is accused of, and then lied to the Bucs and the NFL about it, then he should be released immediately

  215. SchwiftyBuc Says:

I pray that if guys like Bird and BrianBucs ever make bad decisions while intoxicated, bad decisions that don’t result in any significant harm to anyone, that they aren’t judged to the same degree that they would judge others.

  216. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

Lie, no one knows what Jameis told the organization. I thought his failure was in not reporting incident!

  217. Perimeter Blocker Says:

I’m a Winston supporter BUT if these allegations are true he must face the consequences. I still find no police report to be strange. The silence from Winston and the Bucs is becoming deafening…

  218. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

Please, describe what Jameis was accused of…then get in front of a mirror and self evaluate?

  219. Bird Says:

    Swiftly

  220. Bird Says:

    Nole4jaboo

It’s not in regards to non reporting He lied And corroborated that 3 people in vehicle and he was in back and therefore didn’t grab her and states there was this 3rd person who neither him nor Darby named. So pointed finger that uber driver must have been confused and it wasn’t him.

Google Jameis Winston and get caught up.

  221. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

    1. Was both Uber driver’s female?

I’ve been posting as bird for last 3-4 years Not scared. You obviously are. But you are calling people out again for criticizing Jameis so fess up

  223. BrianBucs Says:

    Scheifty

So SEXUAL ASSAULT doesn’t harm anyone? Well that’s a new one. So then how many crotches have you grabbed without the owner’s permission?

  224. Bird Says:

    Nole4jaboo

Are you formally known as nflnut?

  225. SchwiftyBuc Says:

Bird, I pray that you learn the value of understanding and forgiveness. Theirs nothing you could say to make me feel ashamed of the very mildly charged statements I’ve made.

In case you didn’t know, there are men, and women, that get too drunk and go home to beat up their spouse or their kids. Their are also guys, and girls that get too drunk and try to drive home and end up killing someone.

What Jameis has been accused of essentially amounts to being far to forward in his advances, being rejected, and immediately stopping. Now being honest, is that even any where close to a violent offense causing great harm?

  226. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    @BrianBucs

Sexual Assault does indeed harm people. What Jameis is being accused of is no where near being considered assault. If he had gone a step further and forced himself upon her despite her rejection instead of stopping immediately as he did, that’s a different story.

  227. SB Says:

Before I go to bed I must respond to Schwifty’s last comment.

We understood the value of accepting that a young man can make Several mistakes including accusations of sexual assault and forgave him and supported him through the process when the Bucs drafted him. We hoped he would take the steps necessary to grow from said transgressions and not embarrass the Bucs. We were wrong. Good night.

  228. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

Problem is…originally it was said she did not know the person who touched her it was only after the name was given that it became Jameis Winston🤔

  229. BrianBucs Says:

    Scheifty

Sorry, but putting your hand on a woman’s crotch without her permission and leaving it there for 5 seconds while she is asking you to stop does legally constitute Sexual Assault

  230. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    @BrianBucs

Dude, no, you are completely misrepresenting her account of the events.

I’ll remind you again. Allegedly He put his hand, over her jeans, on her crotch area for 3-5 seconds. She asked him “what’s up with that?” and then he removed his hand. And filed no criminal charges against him afterward.

That sounds a lot more like a failed advance than outright sexual assault. But you clearly have already made up your mind.

  231. Red86 Says:

Schwifty Schwifty Schwifty. Thanks for being the voice of logic.

  232. Anonymous Says:

This is football not boyscouts. Who cares

  233. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

No one truly knows…but the organization know more than they were saying!

  234. firethecannons Says:

Jameis was intoxicated and unruly, he probably grabbed the girls private–she said stop-he did–seriously so what. Yeah it is wrong and it is weird but honestly not the huge deal everyone is making it out to be. It was two years ago. He was 21 years old, who here has not done really stupid stuff when intoxicated. Why should the Bucs get rid of Jameis–unless he cannot stop the turnovers or win more games. The most important thing is to put this behind us and move on with Fitz for first games till JW is back. What Jameis needs is a body guard/keeper to prevent this type of issue or accusation going forward. Never go out without your keeper when you are this rich and have so much to lose. People on this site need to get ready to get behind defense, so many new players that are exciting to follow. Jameis will be gone for a few games but we can still win and compete. Give it time and this problem will solve itself.

  235. firethecannons Says:

Just read SchwiftyBucs version–dude you are right!–it was a failed advance from an intoxicated man, but it was Jameis Winston–so there you go–all hell breaks loose and NFL finds out and with his background more is made out of this than what it was.

  236. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

    FIRETHECANNONS
I agree with ALL you wrote with only one exception IF he was drunk, unruly and touched!

I do believe we can win some of those 3 games DEFENSE!!!

  237. Jaywill Says:

    I trust Winston.

  238. Erik w/ Clean Athletics Says:

I honestly grew to love Winston, but….

My original desire for 2015 (Mariota) would never do something like this.

  239. Yusef Says:

I have gone back and read this story 4 or 5 times now on this page and all i have concluded is that this is still just speculation. What in the heck does “Report: Jameis was alone with uber driver”

There’s still nothing to suggest he did anything, yes we already know he was in the car, this much is old news, this whole damn article is rehashing old crap, what we need to know is did he do anything? That’s the underlying question here.

This attorney doesn’t know anything new that we already didn’t know. And how does attorney factor into this case? is he part of the representation of Winston or the accuser? I mean where in the heck did he get this news from?

I’m not defending Winston here, I just want facts and i wanna know the sides to this before i condemn Winston.

I will say this though, If Winston did do what he was accused of, shame on him..and downright Stupid!

  240. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

FACTS who needs FACTS this is social media, where everyone can pretend to be informed, judgemental, righteous and makeup our own FACTS to create a false narrative!

No one has answered my questions:
    6. Did they put him in the front or back seat?
    7. And the person who came forward, did not want JW to get away with blaming Darby’s friend…so what is his truth?
    8. Why did JW get the suspension was it because of the accuser or because he failed to give the NFL notice or was it so the NFL can look the part and prevent backlash?
It will take facts, not asumption, not speculation, or opinion to answer those questions!

  241. Silent_Partner Says:

Are people sure this story is what they’re running around yapping about? From what I can surmise, he got 3 games for a combination of failure to report and consorting with a questionable character like Banks who refused to speak to them and thus nothing else was corroborated. People kill me with thinking the NFL tracked cell phones and stuff. That just went to the Supreme Court yesterday and is difficult for even law enforcement to get and now takes a warrant to get. But as usual, Tampa shows their true colors if you give them a chance.

  242. Silent_Partner Says:

It does go to show that if people state an opinion as fact enough, others will adopt that opinion too, sometimes even unwittingly without using their own critical thinking skills. I know critically thinking though that if this was corroborated, he would have gotten more than 3 games. He’s not a Manning and he doesn’t play for the Giants. Not to mention he came into the league with that cloud on his head, so yeah, pretty sure this would be 6 or 8 if he was proven to be lying. Not only that, but so would Darby be suspended. But by all means, believe what Banks put out through his attorney after refusing to speak to investigators.

  243. Silent_Partner Says:

Oh, and by the way, for once Goodell and his keystone cops got the suspension right. Not only is the failure to report a hard and fast rule, but Winston should have never been in the company of a guy like Banks under any circumstance. I know that he was probably drunk at the time, but he just couldn’t be consorting with that kind of person akin to someone on probation not consorting with felons considering how he came into the league. Hopefully he learns from this, and no pinheads, your franchise isn’t cutting him for this.

  244. Stephanie Says:

SchwiftyBuc:As a woman, I have a serious problem with your response. It’s NEVER okay to excuse someone grabbing someone against their will. Enough said.

I also have two brothers and a son. I’m a realist. Are there gold-digging, lying women who make up stories to get paid? Absolutely. However, the issue with Jameis is the PATTERN of questionable behavior. He skates without serious consequences for the first issue (and most serious)…What would most rational men do at that point? Lay low and behave. What does he do? Jump up on tables, screaming questionable/inappropriate things about women!

He. Doesn’t. Learn. Off the field. On the field. HE DOESN’T LEARN. He continues to repeatedly make the same choices/decisions that land him in hot water.

Things cease to be “mistakes” after the first incident. After the first time – it’s a choice and a pattern. It’s WHO SOMEONE IS. Even if he’s innocent of groping someone this time, he’s still someone who gets drunk, hollers stupid, offensive crap out the car window, and has “friends” who lie/stretch the truth to cover for him. This is the face of our team?

  245. Walter Seidel Says:

Schwifty, you’re an IDIOT. “Oh, sure, I can grab a woman’s crotch, and it’s just an innocent advance”….IDIOT !!! STOP IT!!!

  246. Buc4life Says:

Even if he didn’t grope her which IMO is being a little exaggerated he deserves a suspension for hanging out with a guy who’s awaiting trial for rape…it is kinda ironic that the Winston haters take the word of a convicted rapist in prison as absolutely true. The truth will never be known. Definitely Winston last chance.H e can’t be doing stupid shit anymore or he’s done.

  247. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    @Stephanie
Look, you seem to be misunderstanding what I’m saying. Also you are speaking from a standpoint as if he is for sure 100 percent guilty, which definitely isn’t the case. But assuming if it did happen this is how I view it.

Allegedly he was heavily drunk to the point of being asked to leave, again consider that he was 22 when this supposedly happened, and as we all know, being heavily intoxicated severely effects ones decision making.

Is the thing he’s accused of doing wrong and kind of gross? Yeah it objectively is. I certainly wouldn’t skip 1st and 2nd base like that as my opener, but I’ve seen many women do the same kind of thing in a similar state, both to guys and other chicks. And do you know what? Sometimes, when the signals are clear and the other party is clearly into it they are totally fine with it and it’s a non-issue.

So from my perspective, this accusation reads a lot more as a severely drunk dude reading the signals completely wrong, and making a rash move which got completely shut down. AND THEN, immediately upon realizing that he was being rejected, he showed restraint and stopped.

Now I don’t know about you, but to me that doesn’t sound like the actions of crazed and depraved sexual offender.

  248. SchwiftyBuc Says:

And Walter Seidel, I’m sure you’re perfect and never made a mistake in your entire life huh bud?

  249. Bobby M. Says:

I hate to break it to folks…..but the NFL has asked all these questions those playing devil’s advocate are throwing out there. Winstons camp i assure you has tried to spin this any way possible with their own questions….After all that, the NFL came back with 3 games + additional requirements. Winston supposedly isn’t appealing.

This whole idea that Winston is a target is misguided…..All the NFL, NBA, MLB, players are “targets”. Tiger Woods…huge target that was out there hound dogging it up…..So how is it NOBODY else in any other sport has THREE CLAIMS OF SEXUAL MISCONDUCT AGAINST THEM….OR ANY? By the age of 22, Winston has THREE incidents….No other pro athlete has even TWO! The overwhelming majority dont even have one.

I believe Winston made inappropriate contact with that driver….While certainly rude and out of bounds, i think the gal brushed it off as nothing more then another drunk dude using Uber….That’s kind of how i see it as well. The issue is how he responded, that’s where the damage lies. His approach is shame the victim publicly….His approach is the he said/she said. His approach is twist the facts and use his convenient witness aka Darby to vouch for him….again. That folks is very calculated and that is the concern. Are there others and if there are, Winston has proven he wont own up to them. That’s the risk that could bite the team and the league in the rear.

  250. SchwiftyBuc Says:

    @Bobby M.

Congratulations on contributed to the ignorance level of this conversation.
#1. Jameis has been accused twice, once for which he has been exonerated in multiple judicial proceedings. And this Uber incident for which their is clearly no concrete evidence, and so far the most damning piece of evidence is hearsay from an ACTUAL convicted R-wordist.

#2. Big Ben Roethlisberger has been accused of Sexual Assault twice and the league and casual fans don’t seem to have a problem with him now do they?

This entire ordeal is being blown way, WAY, out of proportion.

  251. Stephanie Says:

@SchwiftyBuc: I don’t think I’m misunderstanding. Jameis could be COMPLETELY INNOCENT of groping this woman. He could also have been drunk off his a$$ and not acting/thinking right. I think my point is this: people know how they are when they get drunk. It couldn’t have been the first time he got drunk. At some point, if you’ve already had a bunch of issues, you need to take charge of your behavior and make smart choices. You want to drink, but act like a fool when drunk? Stay at home with your closest friends and get plastered there. Want to go out and dance/mingle? Make a choice to not drink or to only have a beer or two. People do stupid crap when they’re young — all of that is true. But people do tend to learn a lesson and cut the nonsense when they have a lot riding on something. That is, unless, they’re accustomed to having the chips fall in their favor all the time — or they’re accustomed to other people cleaning up their messes or making excuses for them.

He needs to act like an adult.

If the allegation is true. Why don’t you find out before writing on it? Was it confirmed?

“Ok, I do have to seriously ask…

Once she said to get your stinkin hands off my crotch, did he keep trying to grope her?”

Good point. She says that his hand was there 3-5 seconds, until she told him to remove it.

Sexual Assault is forced. The moment he was told to stop he did, therefore it is not assault.

ScwiftyBuc–couldn’t say it better myself!–Well done. Jameis drunken behavior from 2 years ago was weird and immature and not the look the franchise wants.

He has also put out some Tampa Bay great community work too.

I am a woman and I have to say–a crotch grab from drunken patron is not appreciated but it happens and being sensible I would report it to Uber and be irritated but after that I’m moving on and so should all of us. She said stop-he did–failed attempt at a hookup. No more.

There will soon be plenty of pictures of the good Jameis with his new family, Said it before–the Bucs must get him a “keeper”–someone to go with him/drive him/ secure him and be his witness, any time he goes anywhere. It is necessary with a highly paid athlete prone to questionable off field behavior.

Being heavily intoxicated does not change fault whatsoever. You are in fact responsible for your actions even if you’re completely blackout drunk.

Drunk actions are just sober thoughts.
