Rough Day For Anti-Jameis Blowhards

You know who you are, Jameis Winston haters, unabashed peddlers of anti-Jameis horse manure across the Tampa Bay area and on this site.

Take your Marcus Mariota and shove it — the same Mariota who wilted in Cleveland to Johnny Football. No surprise there.

That includes you, John Lynch, who went on two national radio shows last week and wagged a finger at the Bucs for their No. 1 overall draft pick.

Jameis stood tall in the face of his first road test in the angry SuperDome. He even lost his starting center and took snaps with a guy who was on the street last week.

Jameis was money. Not perfect, but just what you’d expect from a 21-year-old savior learning and growing.

The stats were there, the big plays were there, the sacrificing his body, the spin move for a key first down.

Embrace your franchise quarterback, America’s Quarterback. Hope for the Bucs rests on his capable shoulders. With a solid defense and a couple of good running backs, the sky is the limit.

Biased some? Lol glad the Bucs are making moves. I wanted Mariota but I’m pulling for Jameis now!

  2. Big Irish...Section 318 Says:

    Ditto…..

  3. Ray Rice Says:

    THE MESSIAH!

  4. lightningbuc Says:

Jameis was money? WTF? The buffoon coughed it up at the worst time. The Bucs won is spite of Jaboo.

  5. Cnorys4 Says:

Where are those fans that wrote Tampa off, called for Lovies head, and predicted a massive blow out loss for the bucs? Lol

  6. Bobby Says:

That’s right Joe. Call them out!! Gonna call Jameis a bust after one game. How stupid was that!!!

  7. Deminion Says:

Man Jameis made some sweet throws today man throws only a select few QBs can make

  8. Bubbabucsfan Says:

Not bad numbers for 3 quarters worth of play (lovie took his foot off the gas pedal in the 4th). Couple of drops. Couple of pi’s. He did good! Now if only lovie could stop being so predictable!!!!!!!!!

  9. Buc Neckid Says:

I would have taken Mariota before the draft
I would have taken Kuechly in the Draft
    Neither Play for the BUCS
    #GOBUCS!

  10. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Stop kidding yourself Joe

The Bucs played a very bad, bad, saints team with a secondary that looked like college players

    – Jameis still lost the ball again

    – Held the Ball too long for sack

    – Indecisive with the ball (had open receivers)

Horrible coaching…should’ve never came down to the wire….period!

  11. OneLove Says:

WHAT GREAT PLAY FOR HIS FIRST DIVISIONAL GAME ON THE ROAD!!

“We need to get better” – Jameis Winston aka “I win divisional games on the road for fun!” aka “I just made Drew Brees my B!TCH”

  12. Buctampa Says:

Wow! Joe really takes this personally.

  13. Raysaneers Says:

Couldn’t agree more! Criticism of this team from last week’s performance was well deserved, but to those who tried to pin the blame on Fameis can blow it out your a$$. Great bounce back by this team! This QB is only going to get better from week to week. Enjoy the ride Bucs fans! Go Bucs.

Ps- thank you to all the phony Bucs fans who picked the Saints in survival. Bad mojo/karma always biting you in the a$$. Not saying it wasn’t a reasonable play, but why would you ever pick against your team?

  14. This Guy Right Here Says:

The kid NEVER QUIT!!! MARCUS WHO????!!

Futures lookin bright Tampa! Getchur Ray Bans!!!!

  15. Jim Says:

Marcus didn’t wilt today, his defense did. We know what the head to head matchup looks like every time. Good luck with your QB

  16. Wesley Says:

Now just hope GMC is alright.

  17. Jason Mobsby Says:

Hope GMC is not out for the season. Looks like the bicep rolled up again. nice game go bucs.

  18. This Guy Right Here Says:

Even GLENNON COULDNT CLOSE in THE DOME! KEEP THAT FIRE GOIN JABOO!!!!!!

  19. OneLove Says:

    SHUT THE F%! UP BucsAnthem!!

He made some great throws(ESPECIALLY that TD to VJAX!!)

So why don’t you go back into your room and SUCK A D!CK!!!

“We need to get better” – Jameis Winston aka “America’s Quarterback”

  20. LargoSamIM Says:

Joe(s)…. YOU have Both just lost it !! I am Sooooo glad that the Bucs won !! Go Bucs !! BUT….. Winston did not show me anything new….. same old slow-footed, hold the ball too long QB that he is…. he either needs to get more quick-footed (unlikely) or get rid of the ball quicker !! Admit it, Joe(s) !!

  21. Wesley Says:

He would have looked even better if not for some dropped balls.

  22. Ramon Benitez Says:

His receivers haven’t helped him out either…they left probably another 100yards and 1 td on the field. Evans was a non factor and didn’t touch in bounds for his “big” reception and ASJ let a TD go off his hands, and dropped another bomb.

  23. Trubucfan22 Says:

So dude has 1 fumble with a 2 score lead and all of a sudden we won in-spite of winston? That was literally winstons only mistake. It was big, no doubt, but Martin’s fumble on the next offensive play was much worse. Luckily Lovie’s defense saved the day and made some huge stops. Why are we nitpicking a rookie? Shouldnt we be happy that our Bucs won today? Be happy bucs fans wins havent come often. Hopefully this is only a taste of whats to come.

  24. Wesley Says:

    Largo,
Get real with yourself, the kid made good decisions today (minus the strip).

  25. Eric Says:

You mean Jameis improved between his first and second NFL game?

Nice job. As he continues to improve when he plays a complete game up to his capabilities this league better look out.

He is just scratching the surface now.

  26. rayjay1122 Says:

We defeated the Saints, but purposely lost to finish the race for Jameis last season and we beat the Saints for our first division win this season. Can we play the Saints every Sunday? LOL.

  27. Trubucfan22 Says:

Funny when the jameis haters say they are true bucs fans. But then the first word after a bucs win is just winston hate. Instead of being glad the kid got us a win, they down play it. Thats the reason you cant be a hater. You cant enjoy a win because you are too busy eating crow.

  28. BillT Says:

Lol. I haven’t been on this site since last season soooo….Still lovin on Manziel? Yeah, he’s been some player. Mariota wilted in Cleveland?…isn’t it his 2nd game too and on the road again? Other than fumbles, he had a strong game. JW had a good game today which he should have against a wrecked Saints team. I’ll stick with you know nothing and couldn’t play a lick either. Lol

  29. Luther Says:

Jameis had at least 6 catchable balls dropped that would have put this game way out of reach.

  30. RealkillersmoveinSilence Says:

But Mariota had a great game Joe and he doesn’t cover Travis Benja
    min does he?

  31. Pa Privateer Says:

I didn’t the game. Did we lose EDS? And who filled in for him?

  32. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

This is easily my favorite post ever on JBF

  33. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @Joe and others….

Remember last week’s cry…it’s only one game…that’s still true for BOTH MM and JW.

But there is no doubt Fameis showed us all why we picked him #1. His footwork improved dramatically both moving in the pocket and setting up for his passes.

He made only ONE mistake that I recall…and that was because he’s soo competitve, instead of tossing that ball into the cheap seats late he kept it and fumbled…and even there in his defense he may have believed running clock was more important than tossing it away.

Whatever anybody who can give Fameis credit for this game is blind.

BTW JOE…your boy Adam Schein call Fameis a BUST on the Showtime weekly show…only to get chastised by Boomer and the others about being so premature.

Acknowledging that N.O. is a struggling team we should still be very excited by our improvement…not just #3 but that Oline and Jack Smith and the pass rush.

It’s only one week boys but the glass moves back to half full instead of empty,

  34. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    lightningbuc Says
“Jameis was money? WTF? The buffoon coughed it up at the worst time. The Bucs won is spite of Jaboo.”

Rookie QBs turn the ball over. It happens. A lot. Especially with gunslingers.

That said, the Saints did not score off that turnover. In fact, the Bucs won despite the penalties by OTHER PLAYERS on the team.

At least give the guy credit. In only his second game in the the NFL regular season, he kept the mistakes to a minimum. He lead the team.

I think Mariota is his Kryptonite, but at least he won’t play against him much. And hopefully, if we meet in the playoffs some day, it will be after Winston gets that monkey off his back.

  35. Tampa Tony Says:

Happy for the win but Lovie coaching not to lose almost killed this win. Lovie learned nothing from his year away from football

  36. Oahubuc Says:

Is this where we come to beat up on the Mariota people? Awesome.

  37. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    can’t give credit is blind.

  38. Tampa Tony Says:

Mariota had 2 fumbles and looked like a rookie. Mariota had a fumble problem in college as well

  39. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    @StPeteBucsFan

I agree with the one game thing. Mariota had a good week last week…a great week. But like I’ve been saying…he’s make his share of mistakes.

I think both QBs will be good. Eventually.

  40. This Guy Right Here Says:

I’ll be the 1st to admit, after shtting on Lovie all week, that his D came out prepared today…

If Lovie had these guys in this shape last week, we’d be 2-0… so youre safe for now…

As far as Jameis, KEEP GROWING Young Buc! No mistake about it! THIS IS YOUR TEAM NOW!!!

  41. Bucnut2 Says:

Bucs won in spite of JW not because of him. Repeat of last week, needless sacks, slow release, bad feet, slow decision making. No different than lat week, minus INT, the rest of the team showed up.

  42. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

In fairness…the Titans were considered a worse team than the Saints. So either way, we’ve improved.

  43. nick Says:

    Get off your knees

  44. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

Mariota is going to get killed this season…there is no way he makes it through all 16 games

  45. nate_tweetz Says:

    Great win for the Bucs!!!

@BucsAnthem which QB would you of rather had today? Brees or Winston? Before this game who had the worst secondary? The Bucs or the Saints? Was Jameis perect? No, but today he was a hell of a lot better than Brees.

@LargoSam Winston showed you nothing? I hope your collecting a disability check for your blindness. Jameis made a great TD throw to V-Jax and a great throw to Murphy. His slow feet ran for a TD and picked up a key first down.

  46. Buccfan37 Says:

Winston had his moments but played well most of the game. I said all week this would be a close game. The game wasn’t over until the very end. The Bucs must build and hold onto leads, as everyone saw the outcome was in doubt up until the clock expired.

  47. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @Nate

Agree and I thought he also made a great throw to ASJ who simply couldn’t make the tough catch. But #3 had to feather that ball over the rushing DL and he put the ball where only ASJ had a chance to catch it…just as he did with VJAX.

#3 had a good to great day throwing the football.

  48. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    Bucnut2 Says:
“Bucs won in spite of JW not because of him. Repeat of last week, needless sacks, slow release, bad feet, slow decision making.”

Even if that were true, which it isn’t, that’s what you would expect in a rookie QB in game 2.

However…the sacks were because of blown blocks. For example, they had split backs in the backfield in the shotgun, so that the backs could block. The back on the right (I forget which one) ran right past his block and it resulted in a sack.

Can’t blame Jameis for that. Watch the game again, because that sort of thing happened a lot.

I will say this…most of the blown blocks were NOT offensive line. They were by the other guys put in to block.

    Also…

…Jameis’ footwork was near perfect for MOST of the game. May you are picking out 1 or 2 plays…but that’s because you might be biased. Look objectively at the game again.

    Slow Release…

…I hate to break it to you, but his slow release is only when there is no one open. And he is 500% faster on release than Mike Glennon.

    slow decision making…

That is a by-product of him making an effort to not make mistakes. That will speed up as he and the offensive unit develops and gels.

All in all, it was a much better showing and an unexpected win. A more than Welcome win.

  49. Patrickbucs Says:

Thought he played well; I’ll give him a B. Had some great rushing plays for 2 first downs. Fumble was obviously bad. He missed a number if throws to ASJ (2) and Jackson. He’s a rookie so he will have his ups and downs. The defense got the turnovers today which really helped.

As far as Mariota he played great last week and played pretty good this week. Let’s not pretend he was awful. He made a lot of nice plays, couple of td throws and some nice runs.

Comparison should be looked at end of the year. Last week was a disaster and head to head so that’s where it stands for now.

  50. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

ASJ is also getting better. He’s made some mistakes, but he is clearly better than he was last year.

  51. Patrickbucs Says:

Let’s hope both QB’s play well for their respective teams and I’ll leave it at that.

  52. WalkdaPlank Says:

Very good that Winston showed up. As I said last week, the loss was not on him, but he played pretty poorly. Not this week.

However, for Lovie this win doesn’t make up for last week’s embarrassment of a loss. The defense showed up to play in the first half, then tried to sit on it as they almost snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Lovie’s not off the hot seat.

Overall, though, very good comeback game for everyone, 0-16 will no longer be a possibility. Hopefully nowhere but up for Jameis and the Bucs, but this Saints team was no powerhouse either…

  53. Ed Says:

Glad jameis had an ok game. The biggest thing for me was he protected the ball better. It was a total effort today and fun to watch other than all the flags. Hope jameis keepa getting better and shows consistant improvement. Next week will be a much bigger test against a much better defense than what the saints put out.

  54. DooshLaRue Says:

    BuccaneerBonzai
How are we gonna ever play the Titans in the playoffs?
Last time I checked we’re in different conferences….

  55. Espo Says:

    Jameis looked good at times.

    Jameis looked terrible at times.

No excuse for that fumble, or that sack with good protection.

    He is nowhere near “money.”

What he is… A rookie that improved greatly over his last start. What more can we ask for?

  56. Pete Says:

    Go Bucs!
I look forward to cheering for #3 for years to come!

  57. SuperSam Says:

Mariota “wilted” hmmmm 21/37 257 and 2tds….. Winston 14/21 207 1 passing 1 rushing touchdown, Mariota had the better day still…. im still looking for the ‘wilted” part of Mariotas day, I think your biased journalism is what is “wilted” Joseph.

  58. Patrickbucs Says:

That’s true Bonzai, probably could of had 3 td’s today. 1 bad hold 1 bad call for a hold, where he can improve as well.

Maybe Dave can give him a pizza coupon at Frenchys that is closed for remodeling.

  59. SuperSam Says:

That being said Winston had a decent day, he missed a wide open Seferian- Jenkins and then over threw Jackson the very next play, that fumble hed had almost cost us the game as well, overall a give him a C-

  60. ATrain Says:

    Remember it’s only one game..

I heard that a few times last week

One game doesn’t make a QB

  61. Fartman Says:

prove me wrong, Jameis please. Truth is is he had on ok game. Nothing better than Glennon did as a rookie before Joe turned on him.

  62. Mac Says:

so many angry trolls lol. If you think the Bucs won “in spite” of Winston, then you don’t know football

  63. Billy Says:

Hope that pansy tool dude had a wonderful day in his spandex at the beach today because I enjoyed the hell out of watching the bucs win in the big sleazy today.

  64. tval Says:

Marcus was abysmal. Looked terrified today

  65. SuperSam Says:

Gameball should go to Chris Conte. Hell of a game he had.

  66. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    “SuperSam Says:
    September 20th, 2015 at 5:14 pm

Mariota “wilted” hmmmm 21/37 257 and 2tds….. Winston 14/21 207 1 passing 1 rushing touchdown, Mariota had the better day still”

Winston had a 114.6 passer rating

    Mariota – 96.3

And, Winston won today. Stop letting your bias color your opinion.

  67. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Joe, I so wish the search would work for username posts too. It would be so nice to hold people accountable for their words.

  68. tval Says:

1 of mariotas tds were after atrocious int he threw in endzone came back for a penalty on dline. He then threw ball up for grabs on 4th. Just stop, sam. His body language @ 21-7 looked like ohio st

  69. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    @DooshLaRue

Forgive me…isn’t the Superbowl a playoff game? I think it is, friend.

  70. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    Patrickbucs Says:
“Maybe Dave can give him a pizza coupon at Frenchys that is closed for remodeling.”

    ROFLMAO!!!!

  71. Evo Says:

Joe why do you call out lynch for his comments but not that arrogant blowhard on the radio? I frankly can’t wait to see Winston get more comfortable and start letting those seam routes and slant routes go when it’s open. He will learn. And when he does learn. … joe you better make that blowhard eat crow!

People jump on Shaun king and Ian Beckles but these guys played for us. They are fans like we are. The big bi*ch isn’t a fan of the bucs. He’s a fan boy who never could and kisses 55’s a$$. I don’t see why you didn’t call him out as well joe.

  72. DrHoagy Says:

Rookies play like rookies, one week up, one week down, and sometimes up and down the same game.
I think many thought Jameis would be a statue and he has proven to be mobile enough. The fumble was a result of being overly competitive. I’ll take it.
For the Mariota crowd, he had a fumble issue in college and was sacked 31 times last season alone. So what if he has 4.5 speed if he gets sacked that often. He fumbled twice today but with Whisenhunt for a coach I expect that to be addressed forthwith.
These guys will be tied to hip for their whole careers with bloviated hyperbole driven analysis all along the way. All I know is the Bucs won today so those who were predicting 0-16 need to rethink things. 🙂

  73. BillT Says:

Mariota wilted is the comment that cracks me up. Can’t just say Winston played well and leave it at that. Need to dig on Mariota, who now has 6 TD passes in first 2 games, an NFL record…for the guy that wilted. Lol

Move on from this because the pick was made and no going back

  74. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    Fartman Says
“prove me wrong, Jameis please. Truth is is he had on ok game. Nothing better than Glennon did as a rookie before Joe turned on him.”

Don’t rewrite history. Joe had declared himself a General in the Mike Glennon Mob, if you recall. He didn’t turn on Glennon until the following off season…when he wanted Johnny Football.

  75. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    @DrHoagy

Guilty as charged on the mobility thing. I thought he might be slightly more mobile than Glennon (who sets down roots), but nothing near the mobility he has shown so far.

I still would not call him a mobile quarterback, but he runs just enough to make defenses eventually fear it. And that will help free up the pass.

One a side note…glad we got to see him go deep this week.

  76. Mac Says:

Mariota had 4 fumbles today FYI

  77. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Carr isn’t looking too bad. I would love to face the Raiders in the Superbowl again…and beat them. THAT would pretty much cement that rivalry.

Titans vs Bucs will be a rivalry for years to come as well.

  78. Kevin Says:

Tell you right now…I am LIVID with Lovie smith right now. He is LUCKY we did not lose this game. What does he do???? We get the lead and run it up the middle on every single first down that we have. And damn near every single one of those runs was stuffed for a loss. The last offensive drive we had going into they’re zone…three runs up the middle on first downs in a row. Than…the last possession prior to us kicking a field goal, we run it up the middle on first, second and third downs. Classic example of Love wanting his defense to win the game. I am optimistic of Winston…..glad he had a good day….but Lovie is going to be the reason this team loses half the games they lose. The saints were off they’re game and should have beat us. Dirk Koetter does not call those plays. Love is a bum. This team is LOADED with talent and we have coaching that make horrible calls. Glad we got the win but t was way to close. The lead we had there is no excuse the way team went into conservative mode. Thats how games are lost in this league. Players need to speak up.

  79. Lakeland Buc Says:

This Mariota vs Winston nonsense is getting old and stale. I have always thought that Jameis is the best QB of the two. People here are blaming Mariota OL for his sacks. But the point is Mariota has always took a lot of sacks, and they are mostly his fault. I’m sick and tired of these people using the blame game to protect Winston and Mariota. Winston played poorly last week, Mariota played poorly this week. It has nothing to do with the OL, as I said after the draft, Mariota was sacked 66 times in college.

  80. Bucco brice Says:

HaHaHa…..Defense won this one…Good offensive plan….limit burden on winston but what’s with the Charles sims crap? Should have put game on martins shoulders despite the fumble….run and Defense from here on…good win…LOVIE lives lol

  81. Jeagan1999 Says:

Come on Joe,seriously? Last week (after a horrible game by Winston) you were quick to remind everyone that 1 game does not a career make, and now after 1 close (closer than it needed to be) win, you’re ready to crown jameis the league MVP and write off Mariota… who by the way was 21-37, 257 yds, 2 TDs and 0 INTs (hardly what I would call “wilted”) despite being pressured all day long by a fierce Cleveland defense.

Why don’t we just all agree that BOTH these young guys have skills and both will help their respective teams…Wnston for us and Mariota for Tennessee. Quit stirring the sh*t up….it makes no difference anyway!

  82. chipbuc Says:

God in heaven bucs fans, we just won a game no one thought we would win. Stop bitching and give Winston credit, because without him we dont win this game. It doesnt have to be a debate who is better, Winston is our QB deal with it . Unbelievable!!!!!!!

  83. This Guy Right Here Says:

To you Mariota dck riders, your boy had 7 sacks and 3 fumbles… He took it up the ass today like you wish he would do you… GTF off this site… AND THAT INCLUDES YOU, the ‘DEAN’ of WDAE!!!!!!!

  84. mark2001 Says:

Though I preferred Mariota in the draft process, but we chose Winston….have to root for Winston…great promise…very good job

But have to say that if you don’t think the D carried this team on their back, and the Kicking game was money, you are missing the biggest part of what happened in this game…good tackling, interceptions, fumbles, sacks….on this one the D gets the game ball.

  85. Bucs53 Says:

give credit where credit is due..he looked good, and he flashed wonderful potential. There were some great passes in there…

  86. Mo_Downs Says:

I think everyone will agree: You are only as good as your record says you are” Today, the Bucs were very entertaining (sacks, pics, forced fumbles and recoveries, TD pass, TD run and Martin and Sims III) AND….they won.

    I got my monies worth..!!

    Game Ball Offense: Doug Martin
    Game Ball Defense: Jack Smith

Lipstick and a Wig Award: Louis “T-Rex” Murphy
    Playa-Playa Award: Chris “Monte” Conte

Oh..SNAP, we play JJ Watt next week…!!!

Quick, hide all the chillins and women folk …!!!

  87. ShutTheBucUp Says:

Great all around game. I’ll eat crow happily. I thought the Bucs would lose by at least 20. Glad they showed up and hopefully they’ll continue to play hard!

  88. DoNUTS Says:

As I predicted earlier today, Bucs WIN!! Brindza was critical to bringing confidence to team. JW played much much better on carpet, his stroke looked more timely.

Give this team some time to prove themselves….dont jump on the negative bandwagon as its easy. Patience…it will take time.

Much work to do for these young Jedi.

  89. Skyline Crew Says:

LMAO, you Mariota haters. You all crack me up. Mariota had a good game today. Defense lost it for them. On the flip side, defense won us the game. I’m just glad that Winston was able to get the kicker in FG range otherwise we would have only had the one TD. So game ball goes to the D and to the kicker. Good job all.

  90. Yungry Says:

Is this where we come to beat up on the Mariota people? Awesome.
    ———————————————————————————–
You mean is this where you come to give credit to MM who has 6 touchdowns/0 interceptions vs. JW 3 touchdowns/2 interceptions

  91. "that guy" Says:

my biggest problem with jamies was him missing open receivers, and throwing inaccurate passes. he did come through though ill give him that. he did hang louis murphy out to dry on that slant pass, hes got to take better care of his receivers. but in the end im not unhappy. 26-19 was much better then my 42-10 prediction =] go bucs.

  92. Wesley Says:

^ he also fumbled four times and took SEVEN sacks today.

  93. Bucs Fan Since '76 Says:

Mariota did not have close to the game Jameis did. Cleveland went to prevent in fourth quarter up 21. Until then MM was averaging under five yards per attempt. He was getting sacked because he could not process information quickly. And he fumbled. He had a nice TD throw but most of his throws were very short, so most of his yards were YAC. Week 2 goes to Jaboo.

  94. Ben Says:

M.M. had better qb stats in college ,scored higher on nfl iq test and a much better athlete… Winston also has slow release along with slow foot speed. Why would bucs pick Winston over M.M. unless to only help get bodies in the stadium.

  95. Skyline Crew Says:

I love our Mariota fan site here. Joe is a big fan. Wonder how many articles we will see this week on how good Mariota is.

  96. Buc1987 Says:

The rookie QB made some mistakes and we beat the Saints at N.O.

    Where’s the problem?

  97. Dave Says:

    Winston haters

    All of you-
    F$&@ Off

It’s been 2 games. Marcus or JW need 2 years before you crown one or bash the other. They are ROOKIES!

It is pathetic how you all wanted to blow your heads off and call for Lovies head and calling JW a bust.

2 games?!? Really?!? Just tells me you know nothing about football.

Same for the McCoy haters. HE is the reason that line played good today. He disrupts everything while taking double teams. He is a beast.

If we went by your logic, then Brees must be a real bum with two strip fumbles. Im suprised he has a job. Get a life dude. It was Winstons 2nd start and it was a win. Enough said.

Exactly. There is no problem. We gained some needed confidence, not just at QB but OL and the D as well as finding out that our kicker appears to be the real deal.

People who are pointing Fameis mistakes should also point out other players mistakes. ASJ dropped a pass that would have resulted 1-10 at the ten. What would that have done to Fameis stats? ASJ also failed to make an admittedly tough catch but one I believe he’ll make in the future as his confidence continues to grow.

Bottom line…Fameis gave us a chance to win…and WE DID!!! 2nd half of the season he’ll perhaps win some on his own, but as a rookie with two rookie OL I was just wanting see him flash..he certainly did that!!!

  101. BucsFanInTokyo Says:

It was a good team win. Nobody played perfectly but everyone played as a team. Winston put in a solid, clever performance. Coaching was much better this time around (until they went turtle).

Better play calling = Playing to Winston’s strengths

Winston is my QB. Mariota is a talent. Just enjoying the show… Winston is a winner. Haters can take your sh!t and cheap words and “F” off.

  102. BucsFan85 Says:

Haters from last week can shut up now What were those score predictions again? If you don’t have faith, choose another team. “AS simple as that.”

That TD to VJax was siiiiick

  104. bucsbedabest Says:

LightningBuc – Why on the”feel good” day of the week are you so negative? Winston had 0 INT?. If you can’t support Winston on a day he helped to win a divisional game.. who are you really rooting for?

  105. N.Fl.Buc Says:

Great win, hope it is a trend, not like last year

  106. Johnny Dejay Says:

I’m here to take my lumps, Jameis played much better than I expected yesterday; however, his fundamentals are still awful. He came through when it mattered and earned the win, and that’s huge. If he can continue that trend, there may be hope for his development down the line.

But let’s not forget, that was a terrible Saints team that went 6-10 last season and lost Jimmy Graham and a couple of RBs in the offseason due to salary cap problems caused by Brees’ mega-contract. They’re not going to contend for the Super Bowl anytime soon.

As we heard so many times last week, it’s only one game. Let’s not put Jameis in the Hall of Fame yet. Even Jamarcus Russell had a couple of decent games.

And to defend Mariota a bit, the Titans played at Cleveland, who won 7 of their first 11 games last season before folding down the stretch after QB injuries piled up. Cleveland isn’t a joke anymore; they are very talented, well coached, and playing well as a team. They’re a much stronger opponent than the Saints and they have a fierce pass rush.

  107. Rhonnie Fordham Says:

Lol some of these Mariota trolls are ridiculous. What a group of morons. Jameis played awesome against a team Tampa Bay hadn’t beaten in three years.

  108. Capt.Tim Says:

And the ignorant anti-Jameis Blowfish just keep blowing!
    And swollowing too, Im sure!
You called them out corrrectly Joe
    Well done!
