Jameis Winston Joins Bill Currie Ford

July 15th, 2015

Jameis rookieAmerica’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, has a new business partnership.

The new face of the franchise, a face some hateful Bucs fans still look at in horror, was embraced by a local car dealership soon after joining the Buccaneers.

Jameis has an agreement with Bill Currie Ford of Tampa to be part of their ongoing “community involvement” efforts, Bill Currie spokesperson Christy Vannette told JoeBucsFan.com.

In August, Jameis will be seen with Mike Alstott in a televised public service announcement, Vannette said, and Jameis will participate in various charity events spearheaded by Bill Currie.

Vannette said the dealership expects to renew similar partnerships with Mike Glennon and Mike Evans.

Jameis is “a great kid,” Vannette said, and the decision to work with Jameis came after he was asked “some tough questions.” The dealership emerged pleased to have Jameis as part of their promotional team, she said.

There’s no quarterback competition at One Buc Palace, or at Bill Currie Ford. However, Vannette described Glennon as “super humble and an incredible guy,” and told Joe of some over-and-above ongoing effort Glennon has made for a young cancer patient.

Joe’s glad to see Jameis already making inroads in the business community.

    Go Jameis…It’s your birthday!

  2. WS99 Says:

Ford? I guess no one is perfect even the messiah. #cadillac

  3. INDYbucsfan Says:

Sorry guys but it’s all about the #tesla

  4. Strider Says:

Damn I like Mike Glennon life.. He has backup role for stud QB Jameis no pressure to save the franchise. Not making millions but making more than 250k a year! Idk if he still with her but he had this sexy gf when he got drafted. Plus he is helping people …hopefully Jameis so he can be our great backup QB for the next 10 years. It’s good to be in Tampa.

  5. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

But Paawwwwllllll, he’s going to split the fanbase and cause season ticket cancellations

  6. The Buc Realist Says:

So sad, terrible journalism Joe! You had a great feel good Buc story about MG8, which us as fans are craving to hear! But what do we get, a story you turned into a side note of Jameis following MG8 footsteps and signing with a car sponsor.

  7. Señor Mofo Says:

Crap. I blindly stumbled into a Bill Currie Ford promo.

Does Jameis have a car yet, or is he still bumming rides?

  8. Joe Says:

@The Buc Realist — First, insulting Joe is not allowed. Second, you are assuming Joe has all the necessary information to present this Mike Glennon story. Bad assumption, pal.

  9. bucsfan85 Says:

Any new Bucs news is good this time of year. I swear each day seems like a week during the offseason! Keep spittin em’ out Joe.

  10. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @Strider

I agree with you thoughts. It would seem that life is good for MG8 and it is!

However the Bucs will never be able to hang on to him. If you look at the average of backup QB’s these days it IS in the millions. The 10th largest backup salary is Brandon Weedon at 2 million and it goes up from there. Some of the salaries are aberrations left over from an inflated rookie contract like Blaine Gabbert who was drafted 10th overall and if finishing his rookie contract at 3 million this year or next. It goes UP from there.

Glennon is perfectly positioned. He WILL be a multimillionaire. He now has a good OC and even if Jameis misses some games Koetter will probably create an offense that protects Glennon. When his rookie deal runs out…he signs a multi-million deal with a team that wants to give him a shot as a starter or a multi million dollar deal with a team that wants a solid backup. I guess if the deal was right that could be the Bucs but given MG8 is going to get the big bucks no matter where he goes I suspect his decision will be most influenced by his chance to start which eliminates the Bucs.

I say we get drunk and post over 100 comments on the last story of the day like we did last night.

  12. Señor Mofo Says:

    @bucsfan85

    “Get” drunk?

I live in Mexico. I’ve been drunk for two hours already.

  13. Buc1987 Says:

Realist…now go to your room and stand in the corner facing the wall.

  14. The Buc Realist Says:

No insult, just thought you had a great lead of a story! The downtrodden QB, that who puts up stats even though he has been thrown to the wolves mid-way thru each year when everything has already hit the fan, and will never be accepted by most fans because he was not selected in the first round. Still goes out and not only ” makes inroads in the business community.” But goes Beyond and personally takes it upon himself to give back!

I just respectfully disagree, this is a story that should have been its own article and not just a 1 liner in the article above!!!!

But I am glad you included it, as I guess a heart felt crumb of a story is better than no crumb at all!!!

  15. bucsfan85 Says:

@Senor Mofo , I will be with ya as soon as I get off work. I’m ready

  16. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Buc1987

That made me laugh! But I am just hinting that it is stuff like this and MG8 telling Jameis “to run with the lineman” would make a great story of why MG8 is on the Bucs roster and McCown was cut!!!

  17. Buc1987 Says:

lol Realist I hear ya, but don’t make Joe get out the switch ala Adrian Peterson style..

  18. WS99 Says:

    MGM will live forever!!!

  19. WS99 Says:

The messiah taught me how to make holy water. Here goes, first get a pot and put water in it then boil the hell out of it.

    Ty n Gn.

  20. SteveK Says:

Glennon is a good NFL QB.

  21. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Realist!!! Joe gives you props on other occasions and that’s the thanks he gets. C’mon man…

  22. Buccfan37 Says:

Damn, what’s up? Glennon has been getting more appreciation than I’ve ever seen. The MGMob is still alive and well.

  23. DallasBuc Says:

I am so horrified by having a hugely talented, capable and accomplished young quarterback leading this team into the future. Ugh.
    Regretfully yours,
    Hateful Bucs Fan

PS, bring back McCown. I would rather have a guy that has never been accused of doing anything wrong. Come to think of it, he has never been accused of being a good QB either but at least he is a good guy and I like that more than winning. Lovie can do no wrong. Michael Johnson is still a beast and second coming of Simeon. Anthony Collins got a raw deal because Arroyo sucks. We were THIS close to winning more than 2 games last year.

  24. WS99 Says:

    BOOM! Mind Blown!

  25. Señor Mofo Says:

After I posted earlier, I drove up to Teotihuacan. There, at the Temple of the Feathered Serpent, I received a message.

The Bucs will actually win the division this year.

When that ghostly face comes out of that snake head and talks to you, you listen.

    Book it.

  26. Buc1987 Says:

People knock on Joe…meanwhile on Bucs Nation they make up articles with titles such as this :

“Can the Buccaneers be the next NFL dynasty?”

    By Sander Philipse

What the, who the, why the…oh whatever!

  27. WS99 Says:

DUDE don’t get me started on SP.

  28. BucsFan85 Says:

    Evening fellas. Whats happening?

  29. BucsFan85 Says:

Lol @87. Sander makes some wild stories up. Smh.

  30. Señor Mofo Says:

The serpent spirit broke it all down for me.

We will go 4-2 over our first six games, then a surprising 3-2 in November. That makes us 7-4 and in the hunt. Then, we go 3-2 over the last five. That doesn’t make us great, but it makes us 10-6 and we win the division.

The spirits have spoken. Resistance is futile. It is what it is, and it is already written.

  31. BucsFan85 Says:

Senor Mofo I love your optimism.2nd half of season will be a challenge for us.

  32. Señor Mofo Says:

    @BucsFan85

    It’s not optimism. It’s clairvoyance.

I know holes in places like Teotihuacan that archaeologists have never discovered.

I know the truth about humanity.

I know that we win the division this year. I also know what happens after we win the division, but I’ll let that be a surprise.

  33. BucsFan85 Says:

clairvoyance, I love it. Go Bucs!!

  34. Señor Mofo Says:

The NFC South is ours, and we will take it.

    GO BUCS

  35. Señor Mofo Says:

    Where is everybody?

I have to go out into the mean streets of Mexico City (and by that I mean pretty much the nicest people on the planet), and buy more booze just to post here?

Get with it folks. I expect at least ten new comments when I return from the store.

  36. Señor Mofo Says:

    No new posts.

    Lamers.

It’s a refection of this team and what it’s all about.

  37. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

87 we have the two main ingredients. Bad a$$ QB along with a defensive head coach. Barring any thing catastrophic that equals multiple superbowl wins. That site is posing the question because they have noticed this. I’ve said it many times,Belichek(a defensive minded head coach)had a over all losing record prior to taking the job in New England. He says he felt he was on his way out the NFL and then arose Brady. The combination of the two Dynasty. Call them what any of you so please. Dynasty. God I look forward to hearing from some of you haters down the road.

  38. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

One more thing 87 you hearing it from ya boi first “We are about to be”…

  39. Doug Says:

Another great article by Joe keep up the hard work man.

  40. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @Senor Mofo

    Amen brother! 10-6! Yeah baby.

  41. Greg Says:

Does anybody know what happened to the video we were supposed to see of the bucs draft process as they chose Winston? Just saw the story of Jameis trying to mack on the Cowboys corner backs ex. The corner filed a complaint that she tried to drug him to have sex with him??? Sounds like a match for Winston

  42. Buc1987 Says:

Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. …the article is out of touch with reality. Should the team not atleast make ONE playoff game or even have a winning season before that word dynasty is even mentioned?

Bucs Nation lives in FantasyLand…while JBF lives in Realityville.

  43. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

I disagree 87 mainly because of the ingredients I mention above. Call me a absolute forward thinker,am I always right? No. Other times my close bros could tell you I’m often spot on. Folks come here and wallow in how awful the Buccs have been in recent years as if the people that currently make up the team was responsible. I mean who were the Patriots before Parcells initially and then his pupil Bill Belichek. I live in the potential, not in the what has passed.

  44. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

And let me add. Seem to me they were merely posing a question. I just happen to feel the question they rose. Last I check Buccs third youngest roster in the league. Brees days are numbered,Ryan’s best years were under our current OC,Newton has the worst passer efficiency in attempts 20 or yards downfield in the entire league. Jamies about to own the south.

  45. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Point I’m attempting to convey. This team is gonna live in playoffs. If my prediction one in which I don’t feel is bold then the potential for this team being the NFLs next dynasty is reality.

  46. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

But like always… Time will tell.

  47. Onechase88 Says:

Bucs fan riding d**K of backup QB….that is hilarious…smh
