Both Herm Edwards (above) and Adam Schefter stated emphatically this evening that barring something unforeseen, Jameis Winston will be drafted by the Bucs with the No. 1 overall pick.

It is still Jameis Winston to the Bucs, says Peter Schrager of FOX Sports.
It seems awfully curious that the two people — who Joe respects a great deal — fueling the recent Marcus-Mariota-to-Bucs talk have both stated publicly they believe the Bucs will still draft Jameis Winston. [read more]

Ron “Jaws” Jaworski’s recent comments about Marcus Mariota and the Bucs leave Joe scratching his head.
Yes, the Silly Season added another chapter over the weekend when former NFL quarterback “Jaws,” Ron Jaworski, determined Marcus Mariota is his top QB in the draft, just like Mike Mayock of NFL Network did days before him.
Also like Mayock, who believes the Bucs will draft Jameis Winston despite his quarterback rankings, Jaws said these are his evaluations and, “I am not the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.” [read more]

The suggestion that Team Glazer is split on drafting Jameis Winston because of community relations doesn’t add up
Among the three highlights of the Silly Season kickoff last week was a reported discord among Team Glazer regarding whether to draft Jameis Winston No. 1 overall.
Darcie Glazer Kassewitz, one of the five Team Glazer siblings in control of the Bucs, was reported to have misgivings about Winston because of his off-field history and how that would play with community relations. [read more]

“I told you if you can’t get an edge rusher you have to think outside the box! TOES ON THE LINE!”
Remember former Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik and commander Greg Schiano throwing their hands in the air and waving the white flag on trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and trying to develop a pass rush?
They reached the conclusion, “You know, aside from Gerald McCoy we can’t get past an offensive line of girl scouts, so why not beef up the secondary instead?” [read more]
