Glennon Burying Nose In Brees Clues

“Details, my son, details.”

The quarterback of the future has a little something going this week that he relishes.

You see, Mike Glennon studies loads of film and that work is a extra special when it’s a team like the Browns. But why?

The reason is the Browns already have faced the Saints this season. And that means Glennon gets to watch game film of a quarterback he is familiar with — Drew Brees — attack a defense he’s about to play.

Glennon explained on the Buccaneers Radio Network that he considers it beneficial, and almost an advantage, to watch Brees and/or Matt Ryan, a guy Glennon has studied since high school, perform in a recent game against an upcoming Bucs opponent.

Glennon believes his understanding of Brees and/or Ryan can tip him off as to how they adjust for success against specific defensive looks. The Saints lost in Cleveland, 26-24, in September. The Falcons haven’t played Cleveland yet this season.

Unfortunately, this kind of film study didn’t help Glennon against the Vikings on Sunday. The Saints played Minnesota early this season and jumped out to a 13-0 first-quarter lead, a typically foreign concept for the Buccaneers.

That’ll be some scary Holloween film to watch….Brees….actually has an offensive line that blocks while he drops back to pass……

  2. Buc1987 Says:

The quarterback of the future is playing tonight @ Louisville and their number one ranked defense. Tune in.

  3. Bill T Says:

Call me crazy, but I think Bucs win this Sunday. Everyone now “knows they suck”. I think Glennon, the O-Line, V-Jax (rumors) all want to prove they belong and are going to punch Cleveland in the mouth (I hope so anyway)

  4. RastaMon Says:

Buc1987…how do you reconcile Jamis’s character and poor off field decision making….when advocating the Bucs draft him next year….I prefer dafting
    OT
    OG
    C
and letting/hoping Glennon can become a Brad Johnson QB

  5. Bucsfan4lyf Says:

    Jameis Winston sucks!

Marcus Marriota is the only QB of the future worth drafting in the 1st round.

  6. John Valenti Says:

Winston does not possess the intangibles to be an NFL QB. He is not.mature enough and to think he will straighten up in a year or.two is.foolish. The only headlines I want my team’s QB to make are the ones where he WINS. If we waste a high draft pick for Winston I.may very well quit watching the Bucs. At least for two years or so till they realize their mistake.

  7. Buc1987 Says:

John Valenti…. or you may very well start enjoying them again.

Charlie Ward -“The thing about Jameis is that he does things, but he’s willing to accept the consequences,” Ward said. “He doesn’t shy away from the consequences that have been brought to him. He does things off the cuff, which he’s learning he can’t do. We all go through life making decisions we regret. Sometimes we have to learn from it.”

There’s also an article out there titled :”Jameis Winston doesn’t deserve barbs for unproved accusation”

It’s written by a lawyer. Then again it was written by Casey Anthony’s lawyer and an FSU grad, but he makes a very good case.

  8. Buc1987 Says:

Winston gets in LOTS of trouble. but it NEVER shows on the field. That’s one of the main reason why I want him so bad. Nothing bothers this kid on the field and he throws lasers.

I’m done with this thread. As I’m sure Joe will enlighten us again later today with a Jameis Watch article.

  9. Buccfan37 Says:

I think Glennon will have a good game in Cleveland. Will that be enough to get the win? It depends on how everyone else plays. Some Bucs getting Brown’s turnovers sure will help.

  10. Buccfan37 Says:

Winston this Winston that. Damn, it’s already worn out, yet It’s just getting started.

  11. Luther Says:

@Rasta, if the Bucs draft a lineman with a glaring need at QB in the top 2 or 3 spots, I will puke. Having a shot at a franchise QB is rare even for us. Besides, you don’t draft guards and centers that high. There is only 1 tackle worthy of that high of a draft pick in this draft.

  12. RastaMon Says:

    OT in 1st round
    OG in 2nd round
    C in 3rd round
    lay the founation

  13. Skyline Crew Says:

    A for effort, right?

  14. Skyline Crew Says:

    Luther,

Rams drafted an OT at #2 and Falcons took one at #6.

  15. Skyline Crew Says:

What would be awesome is if Jameis decides to play baseball instead.

  16. Nybucsfan Says:

QB first round there is no line good enough for Glennon he stink. He is so bad 170 yards last week that’s garbage. He is so terrible MGM get over it

  17. ATLBucsFan Says:

I just want Glennon to be as accurate as Brees. Has he practiced with a blindfold on?

  18. RastaMon Says:

“Has he practiced with a blindfold on?:….well …behind this OL…he has cringed and squinted as he throws

  19. Skyline Crew Says:

    Nybucsfan,

    B. Bortles – 159 yds against Browns
    R. Wilson – 126 yds against Cowboys
    A. Smith – 158 yds against SF
    E. Manning – 151 yds against Eagles and 163 yds against Lions
    A. Dalton – 126 yds against Colts and 169 yds against Titans
    C. Newton – 171 yds against Seahawks and 197 yds against Ravens
    T. Romo – 176 yds against Titans
    J. Flacco – 166 yds against Steelers
    T. Brady – 149 yds against Miami and 159 yds against Chiefs
    A. Rodgers – 162 yds against the Lions and 156 against the Vikings

I can go on and on, but I’ll stop. Just because he had 170 yds doesn’t mean anything.

  20. ATLBucsFan Says:

    @ RastaMon – good point!

  21. Gooberville Says:

Glennon is no future QB. He’s the type that is going to look the same no matter how many games he plays. I for one would go back to Mccown if I wanted any chance to win now. But then again the season is over and to get a higher draft pick I would stay with Glennon. I find it funny how he says he won’t make the same mistake twice but continues to look the exact same. Unfortunately Joe your talent evaluation is no better than Lovie and Licht. Manziel and Glennon both suck..

  22. Zam Says:

I appreciate his effort, but it’s a lost cause when he doesn’t have the ability to throw accurately, feel the field, or not stare down receivers. Not mobile, and throws dumb picks.

  23. Buctebow Says:

Melman goes back, it’s a sack, no it’s an interception, no it’s a strip fumble for a touchdown. Which of these and how many will happen this Sunday? My guess 4 sacks, 1 interception and 1 strip fumble. Pretty good outing for him overall. QB of the future.

  24. StPeteBucsFan Says:

87 WTF are you talking about?

“He doesn’t shy away from the consequences that have been brought to him”

Exactly WHAT consequences have been brought to him? Seriously 87. Stop wiht you nonsense. We can all agree Jameis has some very impressive skill sets. But he’s a cement head.

What has happened to him for his myriad fups? NOTHING!!! He’s probably still going to get drafted in the 1st round and make millions of dollars. He hasn’t served a day in jail, and he what? Served a half of suspension from co dependent Jimbo? Come 87 put up or shut up. EXACTLY what has Jameis suffered for his indiscretions? People on a blog or editorials trying to shame a shameless cement head for his inappropriate actions. Or total suckups like you constantly defending him?

Seriously 87 name ONE thing that has happened bad to Jameis? If he falls out of the 1st round for being a bonehead then he’ll suffer at least something.

This guy is such an arrogant, privileged..me..me..me jerk that we’ll all be rooting for some Cardinal INT’s. I’d like to see Jameis get his bell rung tonight.
