Joe was really sickened by a piece of commentary from Gerald McCoy yesterday.
A rookie back in 2010, McCoy started 13 games for a 10-6 team, his only winning team in five seasons, and McCoy didn’t have fun so it wasn’t a happy memory for him.

Lauds Jameis.
Asked about the rookie quarterbacks starting Sunday, Marcus Mariota and America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, Gerald McCoy sounded like Dick LeBeau.
McCoy said Mariota is not a rookie to him, instead, he is the starting quarterback of the team he needs to beat. When the subject of Jameis came up, GMC raved about Jameis like few other teammates have. [read more]

When Lovie Smith brought Jeff Tedford to be his offensive coordinator, it was thought by some to be a bold strike by Lovie.

Yes, the Bucs are 30-70 in their last 100 games. A brutal, brutal stretch that harkens to the last month of the Chucky administration when he lost his final four games as Bucs coach (one to, of all people, JaMarcus Russell at home).

Joe has no issue with starting rookies on the front line, like LT Donovan Smith. (Nor does Joe have an issue with Colleen Wolfe.)
Joe knows Bucs fans are screaming that their beloved pewter pirates are starting two rookies on the offensive line. Screaming! However, Joe is fine with that.
After all, these guys, Donovan Smith and Ali Marpet, were drafted in the second round for a reason. [read more]
