A’Shawn Robinson Reminds Bucs Fans Three Quarters Remain

October 6th, 2026

Three more quarters left.

Joe is sensing a theme. And it is likely coming from KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles.

Bowles has talked about breaking seasons into quarters. The goal is to always go undefeated in the quarters.

That won’t happen this year. The Bucs started 0-4.

When Joe spoke to Cade Otton after the game Sunday, he told Joe how the first quarter is over. As a result, the season is hardly finished.

The reasoning goes, if the Bucs can win three games in each quarter the rest of the way, that’s nine wins in the NFC South landfill and that just may win the division.

Bucs defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson echoed Otton’s words yesterday when asked about the two turnovers the defense had against Green Bay.

“It was great, but not good enough,” Robinson said. “It’s just [we need to keep] stacking and doing what we can to be better and just focus on what we can do now.

“The first quarter is over. Yesterday is yesterday. Now we’re in the second quarter. We’re not worried about [the first quarter]. Now we can’t dwell on that.

“The only thing we can do is be better and start off this second quarter the right way.”

This is sort of the Tony La Russa method of managing in baseball. The retired White Sox, Cardinals and A’s manager always put a great emphasis on winning individual series throughout the regular season.

Why? La Russa said if a team wins more than half of the series in a season, it should be in good shape for a playoff berth.

Joe doesn’t see nine Bucs wins left to be had on the schedule.

I watched the Rays beat the Yankees in the Trop with a pro-Ray crowd which outnumbered the Yankee fans. Over at what used to be called the Ice Palace, the Lightning schooled a less talented Philly team 4-1. Compare that to the product put out there by the Glazers, Licht and Bowles. No comparison. The Rays and Bolts supply fans with quality entertainmet, the Bucs take the fans money and put out garbage and the owners silently sit on their hands and count their coin ss Bowles loses game after game in similar fashion. Right now, who in their right mind would pay a single penny to watch this team lose over and over again? Support the Rays, Bolts, USF, the Rowdies, The Tampa Bay Sun and high school sports. Boycott the Glazers until they show they care by launching Bowles or sell the team.

Was Robinson drunk as hell when he said that? That was a word salad.

    Fire Bowles now!

Three quarters left. Excellent. Plenty of time to establish the run on second-and-14.

The Bucs don’t need motivational math. They need touchdowns, sacks and fewer postgame explanations.

    I do like A’Shawn’s attitude.

But at some point “stacking” needs to refer to wins instead of press-conference clichés.

That’s what your supposed to say to keep fans buying tickets and showing up to the games. We our only a few TD drives a way in each game from being 4-0 undefeated. We are about to turn the corner. Bucs are going to shock the league. LFG! Fire the Cannons! …Bucs Life!
