Groin Injury For Rueben Bain
September 23rd, 2026
The Buccaneers’ first-round draft pick is injured and did not practice today.
Joe’s information says Bain is doubtful for Sunday.
Joe asked Todd Bowles if this is an injury Bain suffered in the Sunday’s loss, and Bowles said it is. Bowles added that he is unsure when in the game Bain got hurt.
This explains a lot. Bain did not look like himself in Weeks 1 or 2. Joe is a cynical kind of guy and has to wonder if Bain maybe tweaked something in Week 1, kept it quiet and thought he could play through it without an issue.
Regardless, the Bucs have a little depth. And don’t freak out, Chris Brawell is on the Texans.

Todd has him playing outside too far from the Oline…not natural for him. He’s fingers in the dirt right up on the Oline and using his power to get through. Figures, another todd move that doesnt work to a player’s strengths

Sounds staged. Trying to help 1 draft pick
September 23rd, 2026 at 2:30 pm
David Walker or AQM should get the start
With Yaya and Nelson on the other side
I’m excited to see what Walker can do with more reps
I think he can get it done
September 23rd, 2026 at 2:33 pm
Excited to see more Walker
September 23rd, 2026 at 2:39 pm
Find it if you can Joe, the play he tweaked his groin that is. My money is it’s on a play he dropped in coverage. Bowles is the QB whisperer. He’s resurrected so many mid & low tier QB careers with his exotic blitz looks. Todd, you should’ve blitzed the crap out of Watson and instead you rushed four. You’ve been guessing wrong for far too long. You throw lifelines for a living. Rookie QB, washed QB, recycled QB, backup QB, you bring them all back to life. I simply can’t watch your D anymore, it’s too hazardous to my health.
September 23rd, 2026 at 2:41 pm
Obviously, we hope it’s not too serious.
But, as others have said, it’s a good opportunity to see what David Walker can do. And AQM.

They need to get a real defensive coordinator in here fire Todd and keep him away from bain

Lakeland Says:
September 23rd, 2026 at 2:30 pm

GO BUCS!!!!

Ufc…I concur. lol
September 23rd, 2026 at 2:56 pm
Its only two games, but so far he stinks.
September 23rd, 2026 at 3:01 pm
More Walker less Bain
September 23rd, 2026 at 3:02 pm
David Walker time! Super Bowl baby!!!!!!!
September 23rd, 2026 at 3:05 pm
COME ON YOU GUYS!!!!
Bain has a groin injury and I’m the only thinking, “Ya, grow a pair.”
September 23rd, 2026 at 3:22 pm
Sly, I was thinking the same thing!
September 23rd, 2026 at 3:22 pm
MadMax- that’s a good point! I was kind of thinking the same thing. It almost always circles back to coaching with this team!
September 23rd, 2026 at 3:29 pm
Well gives us a chance to see more of Walker.
As previously pointed out in a different article, if you take his current pace of production, and made him a starter, over 17 games, he’d end up with 104 sacks (he’s had 1 sack on 9 snaps).
September 23rd, 2026 at 3:30 pm
Groin yeah right, its his shoulder, watch the tape he doesn’t use the rip move he used in the preseason one time with his right shoulder! We r on to the BS at OBP.
September 23rd, 2026 at 3:33 pm
Sounds fishy. First excuse was a sprained shoulder, now a groin. Dude hasn’t talked to the press after both games (in violation of NFL player policy). Someone needs to slap some reality into him. He’s making JTS and Braswell look good.
September 23rd, 2026 at 3:39 pm
Glad to see clueless Todd and his gang of incompetent idiots (Foote and Edwards) are ahead of schedule ruining another edge rusher.
For the love of God, the Glazers need to launch Todd sooner rather than later before he wastes the talent of another high draft pick.

i got sold bad goods on canal street in chinatown once…in nyc…
once…
once…
🙂
September 23rd, 2026 at 3:52 pm
how odd is it that the back end of our defense unexpectedly is the strong point going into week 3…go figure…
kudos to the backs and safties holding it down
September 23rd, 2026 at 3:58 pm
Now the defensive excuses begin.
September 23rd, 2026 at 4:02 pm
No loss.
September 23rd, 2026 at 4:03 pm
Todd is a genius. His defense is on fire. SB here we come.
September 23rd, 2026 at 4:13 pm
BUST!
September 23rd, 2026 at 4:25 pm
Bain just don’t look right, rushing the passer from a stand-up position
I’m use to seeing him with his hand in the dirt
3 point stance, 4 point stance
It just look ridiculous
After he had so much success rushing from a 3 or 4 point stance
He’s giving up his leverage, his advantage, his strengths
September 23rd, 2026 at 4:31 pm
That pass rush clip package of him from Sunday looked awful. He looked like Braswell. Small, slow get off, a mile away from the OT he was attacking. No threat.
Bowles scheme getting the best of him. Todd is fishing for excuses early this year. Prolly doesn’t have enough of his guys on the team yet to make his D work.
Bain better hope Walker doesn’t get a sack or 2 Sunday
September 23rd, 2026 at 4:32 pm
Actually, wouldn’t matter. Bowles would go right back to Bain, cause pedigree and run D you know.
September 23rd, 2026 at 4:34 pm
Kid needs to get healthy. Obviously something was wrong he went from dominating and showing flashes in joint practices all summer to looking bad. Get healthy young man
September 23rd, 2026 at 4:34 pm
I think Bain got hurt in that pre season game. It may have been more than the rotator cuff from that shovel move, cause he is not playing with the fire 🔥 shown in early preseason and training camp. Once he heals we should see a difference. I hope.
September 23rd, 2026 at 4:44 pm
Sit his a$$ on the bench and let David Walker and Mohammed play.
September 23rd, 2026 at 4:46 pm
Now all we need is an Anzalone injury and our D would be better just by subttracting Bain and Anzalone from it (our 2 worst defenders so far this year).
Not wishing injury on anyone, Anzalone needs to ride the pine asap.
September 23rd, 2026 at 4:53 pm
Easy to tell his shoulder wasn’t fully healed the last few weeks. Now a groin. Not the end of the world, the guy really does have a special skill set. Now we get to see if he has patience, a necessity in the NFL. Don’t get too discouraged, young man. You’ll get through this. Come back fully healed and at full strength in a month and be fresh for our home stretch. Maybe a blessing in disguise.
September 23rd, 2026 at 5:08 pm
Let Bain get healthy and maybe have him try and rotate with Kancey. Playing inside should help with his lack of length.
