Jason Licht: Bruce Arians Is Contributing, Will Be In The Draft War Room

April 19th, 2022

Powerful.

Bucco Bruce Arians has completed his extended golf vacation in Arizona and California.

General manager Jason Licht addressed media at his annual pre-draft news conference and shared that the former head coach is involved in draft meetings and still has a strong voice in the draft process.

Licht also said Arians would be in the draft war room, where Licht said 10 percent of decisions are made once the draft picks off.

No additional clarity was offered regarding Arians’ overall role with the team as a “consultant.” Joe is pleased to have the greatest head coach in Bucs history still having a little weight in the draft process. Certainly the Bucs have drafted well in recent years while Licht relied on Arians’ powerful voice.

Cool but; it is not his team nor his personnel needs its Byron and Tahmmys offense now and 100% Bowles defense

  2. Robert Says:

Gruden was the TB GOAT coach.

  3. GOB Says:

For the bucs sake, I hope it’s a very minimal role. Arians has never been anything but a coach. He exhibited some really bizarre behavior last year. You might remember him smacking a player, playing injured starters and the sideline blowout with perhaps your best reciever, a week before the playoffs. That smacks of a man who has lost the ability to control himself. His new role amounts to hush money. Please keep him away from the draft board

Does the golf cart fit in the war room?

  5. Elita Vita Says:

Quite respectful of the Bucs organization to help with this arrangement. His presence is another win for both BA and the Bucs !

  6. Bucsfan4ever Says:

    He’ll be alright

  7. Biff Barker Says:

Ackward maybe. Bad idea for anything more than hia opinion? No. BA knows it’s Licht and Bowels mistress now.
I’m in the majority with most fans. Load the trenches, LB, CB, TE. We’ve got a cadre of great football minds assembled.

    LFG!

  8. SufferingSince76 Says:

Bad news for the BA haters! Once again, GOB, you’re talking out of your backside. Only you and your other aliases care about AB the lunatic being tossed and AB giving a helmeted player a smack in the head. Stop making crap up or go watch powderpuff football. It sounds more your speed.

    ^^^BA giving the slap^^^

  10. lambeau Says:

    GOB is on to something.

  11. sasquatch Says:

I just hope BA is able to step back and advise as Licht and Bowles are now the decision makers. That can’t be an easy transition.

  12. bob Says:

    yikes

  13. Listnfrmafar Says:

    NOOO, can you say Darden?

  14. Letsbuccinggo Says:

    Hope hes sober!

    Bucs should have a lottery…….draw numbers out of a hat…..by rounds…

    Licht, Bowles & BA….perhaps Brady…..each one gets a pick…..

OK…we’ll let Licht make the 1st pick….then do the lottery from there.

  16. Listnfrmafar Says:

    Why?????

  17. Kidfloflo Says:

Why? Cause the guy knows football, been around it for decades, and has worked with Bowles for almost as long and knows personel…I mean not as well as u guys who draft for fantasy football…but close…and lastly, I believe they almost won back to back Super Bowls, so

  18. Bush's Coke Spoon Says:

I wish there was a way to parse out whether recent draft success was due to improved talent evaluation or better coaching and development. Either way, the Bucs have shown a great improvement, and Arians put the coaching staff together. I want Arians in that room!

  19. Goatfarmer Says:

To the BA haters — you probably hated Gruden too, and biatched about Dungy.

    Maroons.

  20. Jeffbuc Says:

Isn’t it great to be going into a draft just trying to add contributors. Not arguing with the ghost of Darrell Henderson past about how he is t a 1st round pick he was great at Memphis. Or the guy banging the drum for Barkley. How did those work out. I really hope we trade back pick up another 2nd and 3rd or a 4th depending on the team trading urgencies. Then draft the falling 1st round grades. And hope 2 pan out. This is our last hoorah we all know this is toms last year here. And 3 months ago we were all getting ready for life without Tom. No projects I do t care if we take a legit kick returner first round and a great punter in 5th. Just make sure you draft for this year. We all know rob and JPP will be back. Corner, defensive offensive line. And a linebacker delth is what we need injuries will happen. Linebacker and cornerback injuries killed us last year. With the 27th pick the Bucs select??

  21. David Says:

    Robert

    Lol. Not even close.

I think I would take BA, Dungy, & McKay over Gruden. Don’t give me wrong, I like Chuckie but he is an extremely overrated coach. Couldn’t get two receivers on the field at the same time, had no clue on defense, and I don’t think he was capable of developing a QB under the age of 30. Not to mention the fact that as much as he screamed “Pound the rock!”, he drastically underused A-train

Goatfarmer…please concentrate at the job at hand….farm those goats buddy
