Todd Bowles Defends Himself, Says He’ll Lead Team Out Of Struggles

Todd Bowles was waving a Todd Bowles flat after the game today.
Local multimedia guy JP Peterson asked Bowles why he’s the guy to lead the Bucs out of their two-season struggles.
“I’m the head coach. I can do more,” Bowles responded. “I can always do more. I’ll always take the blame on that.”
Peterson followed up to ask what he can do to change things.
“We’re going to fight. We’re going to stick together. And we’re going to figure this thing out and I’ll lead them to that. That’s my job,” Bowles said.
Later in the postgame news conference, Bowles said last year is irrelevant and he will only speak on 0-4.

In before r3t@rd Rod Munch some how blames this on Baker, and pontificates his contract like it’s going to hamstring the Bucs for eternity even though it only runs through ‘28 and you can draft a rookie qb on a rookie deal. Please R3t@rd Rod, share more of your infinite wisdom. And to all you people thinking Jalon Daniels, an undrafted player would somehow out perform Baker in his first start, I have one question: how did you guys become so stupid. He absolutely doesn’t not scramble any better than Baker and he does not have the arm of Baker. Tucking and running after the first read is super neat tho!

This was a winnable game, the Bucs were just not aggressive enough in the run game and the pass game. The pics definitely didn’t help but my gosh JD 10 is a rookie he played a decent game. Now we’re 0-4, Dallas is gonna tee off on us !! Man I hope I’m wrong !!
I’ll be watching and hoping for our first Bucs win of the 2026 season !!

When Bowls cost the Bucs their 2nd chance to reach the Super Bowl with his bone head defensive alignment that allowed Stafford/LA to easily move downfield and kick a field goal, that was the red flag for me. Anyway, no one can argue that Bowls isn’t a decent person. He is. He’s just not the right coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Keeping it real in Ireland.

The Glazers care more about racial representation in coaching than the success of their franchise.
You know what the irony of this situation is? Nothing helps helps the black players and coaches in this organization more than winning.
Winning gets people jobs. Winning gets people paid.
Winning is a resource capital. The more of it you have, the more in demand you are. If the Bucs win then everyone benefits. First and foremost you have to hire the guy that wins.
This org has been run into the ground. There still isn’t a pass rush. The QB room is sus. The oline is middle of the road at best. Skill position players are grossly overrated. The only thing that Bowles is halfway decent at is coaching up the defensive backfield and maintaining that talent pipeline. They got a couple DLs that play strong against the run, too. Other than that. The cupboard is bare.
If racial representation is really that important to Darcie and she’s got to run Bucs like the United Colors of Benetton to virtue signal and feel good about herself, then at least hire one that has a history of winning. Don’t just hire a guy that “deserves a chance” because he’s been around for a while.
Mike Tomlin is just playing Minecraft these days. They hire him I will personally build him a gaming PC he can put in his office.

I gave been a bucs fan since 1976 and I will admit that I have been hoping for losses the last 38 games.
Bowles should have been fired after the ’23 season – it was obvious to everyone that he’s not a championship caibre HC. ’24 was a wasted year, ’25 was a disaster and finally, in 13 more games, I will get my wish.

The offense has no teeth and no fire power.
The defensive players are not playing football anymore. They are a unit being led into a battle that they know they cant win. This was a horrible Packers offense, and they couldn’t get stops. 4th and 3 or less is a no-brainer decision against Bowles.
This is one of the most boring teams in the league to watch play, and when they pan to the HC on the sideline you immediately understand why.

Bowles is irrelevant. Good coaching wins the game today. At the end of the first half he should have run the ball milked the clock. Punted and gb doesn’t get 3 points at the end of the
half.
End of game the run was there. All he had to do was run get 8 yards and they would have been in field goal range. Instead he has Daniel’s drop back three times and it’s disaster. 4th down there was no choice.

I say do something SO RADICAL that it would rock the NFL world.
Fire the entire coaching staff except 2 or 3 low level assistant coaches for reasons that will become obvious.
Tell the the team to play for themselves. Bonuses will be given to those that shine. Those that show incompetence or lack of effort will be placed on the trade block after each game.
The Bowles coaching staff has proven that coaches can do more harm than good.
The opposing teams would have no idea what to plan for.
Turn it into a sand lot game.
Tampa would pack the stadium just to see that.
Tickets sold only to Fl drivers license holders. That would allow some curious snowbirds to attend.
That would also expose Goodell to be the tyrant he is. Surely there are no rules to prevent it.
