Sean Murphy-Bunting Gets Plucked By Steelers
October 5th, 2026
Defensive backs depth has left One Buc Palace.
The Bucs signed cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting to their practice squad after he was cut by Arizona when training camp ended. The move seemed sound and smart. Their 2019 draft pick and Super Bowl cornerback returned home on the cheap to a defense he knew well.
But now he’s gone. Today, per NFL reporter Tom Pelissero of Netflix, the Steelers have plucked Murphy-Bunting from the Buccaneers’ practice squad. He’s on the Pittsburgh roster and earning more money.
Even with cornerback Benjamin Morrison struggling with a new injury, the loss of Murphy-Bunting is no big deal. The Bucs are 0-4.
Undrafted rookie Ayden Garnes was active for his first-ever NFL yesterday. And he deserves any work Murphy-Bunting would have gotten.

Bucs D is playing pretty darn well. It’s the offensive line that’s leaking like a sieve.

Good old Floormatt makes an appearance to praise his beloved Todd Bowles.
The defense is crap as always. We’re 0-4 for a reason and it isn’t just the offense.
Perhaps the coming 0-5 record will snap the Pom Pom squad into coherence.

Don’t be fooled by the D just because the O is terrible.
Their best game was game 1 vs Cincy and that was a horror show of missed tackles.
The Packers are terrible. They were a fumble and Parrish free lance away from tucking 31 on the Bucs after scoring 7! At home vs the Falcons. Gave up 7 more in garbage time.
The Murray led Vikings didn’t score a TD in the 2 games on either side of their Bucs win.
Deshaun Watson saved his career by having a good day vs the Bucs D. Admittedly he looks decent right now but I will refer you to 1 of 1000 previous posts about good coaching.
The D is fine, it could be a lot better still! Bowles is terrible.
And does anyone really think, that if the Bucs had a more potent offense and took leads in these games, Bowles and the D wouldn’t have shown their belly!? That’s not something we have seen 30 times in the past 4 years hahaha.

So they can get all info about our D for when they play us and he will ball out lol

The Bucs D couldn’t get to a QB protected by third string offensive lineman (literally) an embarrassing effort.

You can’t tell me these same exact Oline man who were top 5 in the league 2 years ago, forgot how to block. It’s the crappy scheme brought in by Robinson. Instead of developing an offense around the talent you have he’s trying to force a new blocking scheme on them. This team has the talent to win 10 games and the coaching to win 2 games. Thanks Glazers!!!

St. Pete Matt: are you nuts. Love’s uniform was as clean as it was when he started the game. The Paker had their best rushing game of the season. The Bucs had 0 sacks and 0 hits on the Pack Q who completed 78 percent of his passes. Give it up.

This defense is not good hope it’s just the scheme but this defense is not good.

Wait and you F’d up knowing Morrison is F’d up ?? There is some serious slipping going on Glazers. There’s a thing that has been an epidemic for a couple years. How can you get better when you’re losing proven players? Um can you do something with that Oline

But we had Fordham on the active roster?
We dressed 5 MLB yesterday. So dumb.
4 is plenty.
We needed SMB.
This is very disappointing.

Why the hell didn’t they protect SMB on the PS???
That’s sooooo freaken stupid for them to bring him in then lose him because he wasn’t protected….
I’m so done with these a$$clowns !!
