Gronk: Bucs Don’t Have A Winning Culture

October 1st, 2026

Even happy-go-lucky retired Bucs Super Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski is down on the Bucs and Todd Bowles.

Yeah, it’s gotten this bad.

Gronk did a fresh interview with Rotowire.com as part of promoting his affiliation with eBay Live and a New York Comic Con appearance.

Asked about Tampa Bay, Gronk pointed a lot of fingers and said nobody on the Bucs — from the head coach on down — is taking over the team.

Q: Speaking of struggling teams, obviously your other former team, the Bucs, they’re 0-3. Obviously they have the Baker Mayfield injury. What are you seeing from them? Because the offense doesn’t look good, the defense doesn’t look good. They’re pretty average across the board. What are you seeing from them early on?

Gronkowski: They’re a team that can still be competitive, though. They have it, they just can’t put it together. I feel like the culture just isn’t there in the Buccaneers organization right now. Everyone’s getting blamed — the head coach, they’re blaming problems on Baker, they’re blaming problems on the playmakers. So everyone’s getting blamed. Nothing’s clicking over there. I would say no one’s taking over. Someone has to take over and step up. Whoever it is — the head coach, Baker, a wide receiver — they’re also just hurting themselves too much. When they do create a big play, they get a penalty, and it gets called back. But overall, the culture just isn’t a winning culture right now in the Buccaneers organization.

Depressing days to be a Bucs fan.

Starts with “tank” talk & you can get it right here on JBF

No s**t Sherlock. Tell us something we don’t already know and it all starts with the HC.

  4. Buc1987 Says:

    Sad Joe sad.

A lot of us saw this coming waaay before the season started though.

    “Embrace the suck” remember? lol

    Duhhhhh Gronk, duhhhh

  6. King of Citrus Park Says:

Gronk is kind of like Scotty Pippen. He won because he had the best ever feeding him. Appreciate ya pal. But if you played in Cleveland you would be a zilch

  7. bucfanforever Says:

They are looking up at average.

  8. CBucs Says:

The players would know better than anyone, but as a fan it looked like the winning culture survived the departure of Arians and Brady for a few seasons.
But it couldn’t survive the too many years of mediocre coaching by Bowles.

Ive been a fan of Licht, but I believe it’s time to clean house. Keeping a mediocre coach in a mediocre division isn’t a recipe for a winning culture. It’s settling for mediocrity.

  9. BucfaninMi Says:

It was gone the minute Brady left

  10. Winny Testaverde Says:

Gronk…a gift from the football gods via Assistant GM Tom Brady. He outscored the Chiefs alone in Super Bowl 55. He probably can’t believe how lousy it’s gotten.

Bucs may be the worst team in the NFL right now if you account for the total picture. Coaching ( or lack thereof ), butchered salary cap with the top 10 highest paid either digressing or injured. Not a lot of draft capital ( unlike the Jets & Browns )…and the front office is now abysmal. Not even the lucky leprechaun Greenberg can fix the salary cap mess. Oh…the ring of fire JLicht has turned the Licht House ( never liked that term ) into an outhouse. Stinky stuff…

  11. Tye Says:

Owner and GM aren’t winners (they retained one of the worst HC!)
    HC/Dc surely isn’t a WINNER!
    OC isn’t a winner!
QB Most surely isn’t a WINNER!
Offense and defense poorly coached so they aren’t winners!

Not going to get a winning culture from a bunch of collaborating losers!

  12. Jimothy in Oahu Says:

Until week 7 I will hope that they can bail the water out of the sinking pirate ship, after that, its gonna be tank for picks.

I don’t know if “winning culture” is the right phrase, it doesn’t even seem that they have a pride culture or a good practice culture or a no excuses culture because all I’m hearing out of the HC/DC is excuses.

The defensive scheme is broken and it garbage, the players know it, the fans know it, the only person that doesn’t know it is the DC.

  13. Steve V Says:

    King Citrus! Right on brother!

  14. firethecannons Says:

Yeah, I’d say that its true the Bucs do not have a winning culture. I have moved on from this team, my husband refuses to watch bad football and so he is no longer agreeable to watching the Bucs. We watched the Bucs game last Sunday vs Vikings and it was the worst football game either of us had ever seen. If Jalon Daniels does not out perform then I see the Bucs having 0 maybe 1 win this season. Baker, the O-Line, and the OC need to be on the same page and I do not see that happening even remotely. I doubt Licht is safe if we have 0 wins on the season.

  15. Defense Rules Says:

Gronk … ‘They’re a team that can still be competitive, though. They have it, they just can’t put it together.’

I like Gronk’s analysis; essentially, the Bucs can be competitive, they just have to find a way to put it all together. I also like the way Gronk followed that with … ‘Nothing’s clicking over there. I would say no one’s taking over. Someone has to take over and step up.’

We’re only 3 games into a 17-game season. This team can be competitive based on its’ talent, but Gronk’s right: it needs some big plays. It needs someone to step up & light a fire under the starters in particular. It needs someone to hold them accountable. I don’t know who that will be on offense, but on defense Robinson & Anzalone have potential. (And yes, Anzalone looked like he played much better against the Vikings).

The good news might be that we’ve played (and lost to) 3 teams that all have winning records as of right now. The next 3 teams we play have 1-2 (Packers), 1-2 (Cowboys) & 2-1 (Steelers) records. All 3 are beatable … unless we once again beat ourselves.

The next 3 teams (before our BYE) have 1-2 (Panthers), 1-2 (Falcons) & 2-1 (Bears) records just like our next 3 opponents. All 3 of those are beatable also.

IF our defense can stay relatively healthy, we’ve got a decent chance to win any of those next 6 games. It’d be really nice IF our offense also showed up, but I’m not expecting Jalon Daniels to play the Bucs’ savior role. Impose our will via our run game, and give him some decent options in the short passing game. We’ve got all the weapons we need. Just need our OLine to start earning its’ keep.

  16. 3-28 curse continues Says:

I love football But no I’m not getting depressed over the Bucs. Like Lovie used to say I’m highly disappointed.

  17. HeartyDickerson Says:

Funny, because “culture” was the one thing Glazers and Gas Light tried to sell the fans on why they chose to keep Todd.

Let’s be real. It was because it would’ve cost Glazers $40M+ to can Todd and hire a replacement staff.

  18. MonsVenusVIP Says:

He should’ve tossed Licht under the bus too while he was at it.

  19. Been there since the beginning Says:

Yo everyone one else been talking everything but what Gronk mentioned, Genius. It didn’t dawn on me that Mike and Lavonte apparently were the real glue that held it all together. Player’s have a real heart, the other kind, loving, caring, don’t make me puke..forking wake up, and act like veterans you’re a captain? Command dammit, without someone to cling to, wtf, be the man and put thoughts in the younger guys heads. A little camaraderie insight bro, it takes all of you remember. If you want to go time is soon

  20. Oldbucsfan Says:

Damn! The man must be a rocket scientist!

  21. Obvious Says:

Well the HC and the qb are getting blamed because they largely to blame.

Remember when many of us said that it was beyond obvious to replace Bowie with Coen? We were assure that Todd had created a great culture and that’s why he was able to win the division three times. Well it turns out the dumpster fire division and cupcake schedules were the culprit.

3 plus month and counting…at worst.

  22. Mick Says:

Gronk is a winner, no doubt about it. Always liked him. He played hard, had a good head for the game. It was a gift when he came to Tampa. He is correct about the Bucs these days. Bowles, Licht – not the best by any means. Looks like Mayfield is done with, even after the thumb heals. It is difficult to even watch these Bucs. Just sad. My Sundays are free now.

  23. Hodad Says:

The only way to change the culture is by firing your 12 year GM, and your 5 year HC. I think one of the reasons the Glazers didn’t fire Bowles after last season is because they weren’t sure about Licht. Now they know, he’s part of the problem, not part of the solution. Now they no it’s time to clean house.

  24. LakelandSteve Says:

Sadly we all knew this in the last half of last year. It’s going to start with the offensive line. If those guys can get it going, heck just stop the stupid penalties. We know they have it in them because we have observed this same group of guys steamrolling people. They can do it again. They just have to find there mojo.

  25. Bucscoott Says:

There is way more to life than the nfl who really cares this team is a joke and a waste of time, not bothering with them anymore

  26. McBay Says:

Hey, Jason just traded a 2nd and a 6th for Joey Porter!

Oh, wait, that was the Cowboys. My bad.

No worries, Todd has the team firing on all cylinders despite the record. He’s changing everything about the way they practice and they’re gonna smoke the league through the bye. 6 in a row coming, starting with the Packers.

  27. TDTB Says:

I’m not giving Licht a complete pass (the slew of what appears to be panic picks in the second round for example), but overall he has been at least average…never horrible (See, Matt Millen in Detroit). The fact that both Baker and Vita were extended shortly after Glazer visits suggests they made those calls. I also recall Licht trying to sign Coen to a contract making him the richest coordinator in the NFL and while not spoken, the Head Coach in waiting. Bowles and the Bucs tendency to sign players to third contracts (whether the first two were with Tampa Bay or another team) are the primary problems. Third contracts are too expensive to field a balanced team. Fire Bowles, trade away older vets, trade down in the draft and re-load is the answer. They also need to hire an offensive head coach. Hate to say it, but good DC’s are easier to find than OC’s. I just don’t see an obvious candidate now.

  28. Pewter Power Says:

BA retired and the beast effect got us 8-9 under Todd Bowles. The change in culture declined when Bowles was hired. Every year starting with Bryon Leftwich there is a scapegoat for Mr zero blitz. You can’t have a winning culture with a coach who has a history of mediocrity

  29. Smoke Porterhouse Says:

This is what happens when you have a 3rd rate HC and keep him for another year when he was begging to be fired.

  30. Mikw Says:

The blame needs to be pointed at offensive coordinator he has all that talent and doesn’t know what to do with it. He has messed up the offensive line with this crap. He couldn’t do anything with cousins and look how he good he is playing. Guy should have never been hired.

  31. Hodad Says:

Twelve years of Licht has been enough. Past time if you ask me. He bought time hiring Arians, and it was his lottery ticket when Brady decided to come here. Before, and now after, we suck with him as GM. Time for new blood. Fresh set of eyes on this roster with a new vision for the future.

  32. Rocky Says:

    Todd Monken, anybody?

  33. Winny Testaverde Says:

Tripod Todd Monken was free for the picking…

    Familiar with the Bucs…

At least he’s inspiring and offensive minded…

If The Bucs never get a defensive head coach again…it’ll be too soon.

That includes Tomlin who talks big but hadn’t delivered much for more than a decade.

  34. HeavyE Says:

How do you expect a winning culture, with a QB like #6 at the helm? Are you kidding Me???? New GM, HC & QB are needed to change the culture!!!

  35. Dan Says:

That lack of a winning culture extends to ownership too……..keeping the HC from last year and going with this new OC from the ATL seemed underwhelming and cheap. I’m still gonna give the Bucs one last chance this season with some new blood coming in with Daniels. Despite what Bowles said, everyone needs to step up for the rook. If the team sucks again, we’ll it is time to start looking at next year’s prospects and rebuild it all. Was going to talk real bad about the Glazers, but…….Nice way to put is they are not acting like winners right now.

  36. Beeej Says:

    Unrelated, Dean hurt again

  37. Bucsfan951 Says:

There were established leaders playing last year when they went on their losing streak. From the owners to the janitors, the entire organization are losers.

  38. BucsFan81 Says:

If the Garbage browns can be 3-1 with less talent than we have then we can easily win this division if we had decent coaching and accountability. I am not buying that the Bucs suck this bad with the talent this team has. Offensive line just didn’t forget how to play football and block. The coaches on this team all around suck. The offensive scheme sucks and Bowles couldn’t coach his way out of a paper bag.

  39. Woodman Says:

    Thanks Captain Obvious!

  40. Saskbucs Says:

Another prime example of how undone these Bucs are by coaching. Not by Baker, not by the OL, not by the playmakers or “busts” on the DL… COACHING!

Anyone watching Watson sling tonight? Guy might win his 3rd straight game. Everyone and their mother was writing this guy off as a washed, loser, predator.

Gets a decent coach, an offensive guy who knows how to set protections and get WRs in space… what do you know! Watson looks like a decent QB again.

    Kubiak – Darnold/Cousins. Coen – Lawrence / Baker. Canales – Young. Monken – Watson

Evidence is everywhere! Something to think about Rodney Munchkin and the like.

  41. Drunk Bucs Fan Says:

Keep it coming. The more these type of things are out there, they are just fuel to the fire.

During the Browns game day thread I said I dare them to lose that game.

The way things are looking, I dare the Glazers to keep this coach after this year.

But I don’t want him fired before it’s over. I want him to have to stand on the sidelines for every miserable bit it it.

Besides, any interim coach boost would only hurt draft position and give the Glazers a chance to go cheap by keeping him.

  42. Obvious One Says:

    Hold UP!….

I see plenty here blaming Jason Licht for this unmitigated dumpster fire… Well, you’re Not completely wrong.. But you Sure Aren’t right either!

The “only” and it a BIG ONE.. “THE ONLY” Short coming of “intelligence” around here are OWNEDDDD by One party in this blame game! And the Ultimate Loses ARE the Very glazers themselves!

I realize that Licht’s an easy target but let me ask for you this….

Who was it that said NO! “Not Yet” until we see “Proof of Play” from Baker Mayfield? For that matter… who was it? Who was it that said NO(!) To Vita Vea’s RANSOM? Who was it that PUT HIS FOOT DOWN AND “DEMANDED BETTER” from BOTH of those guys via “Proof of Play Frist”….. Who was that? It WAS… Jason Licht TRYING to get OUT of the Den of the Manically Depressed by making WISE decisions and WISE demands apon dudes whom it WAS NOT AN IMMEDIATE NEED.. or giving in As If it was a “DIRE NEED” to extend when one of them Did IN FACT, do HIS PART in BLOWING CHUNKS last year So Badly that the team LOST GAMES “DUE TO” sloppy play, BAD decision making, and NOT being able to hit the BROAD SIDE OF A BARN??? (of which 50% of that was blamed on the O line and probably, rightfully so)

And WHY EXACTLY was it a great idea to PAY THE EXTORTION MONEY to Vea, when the Results have been…… ZELCE! Notta NOTHING special in ANY WAY, shape OR form??

Extortioned….. by a quite possibility a “poisonous” locker roomer (leader?????) whom HASN’T FORGOTTEN “Exactly WHY” the Leaders of the locker room ALL JUMPED SHIP!

Who’s idea was it to Fold and to NOT TRY TO right the ship so that the Titanic Doesn’t Crash into an ICEBERG? … I mean HITTING the ICEBERG that IS “CAP H3!!”? Well… THAT WASN’T JASON LICHT!

“THAT” Would Be…. the “Goofy Glazers”!

I’m sorry but some of you people ARE BLAMING THE WRONG GUY! Licht was TRYING TO SAVE US FROM “EXACTLY WHERE” we find ourselves RIGHT NOW!

Licht IS required to do as his bosses TELL….. him to do!

I’m NOT saying Licht is walking on water… NO WAY! But………… This debacle ISN’T his fault. So Please… don’t get it twisted.

  43. PNW Buc Says:

    Joey Porter Jr….went for a 27 6th and a 28 2nd

    Gronk ain’t wrong…

  44. adam from ny Says:

am i crazy, or are monken’s browns sort of fun to watch…?

i find myself quietly pulling for them to get to 3-1 over these lousy steelers…

if they get to 3-1 i could see them possibly getting 8 or 9 win…you never know…

once a team starts believing they can get on a roll…

can they get on a roll and steamroll right into the playoffs…i doubt it…lol…

but the monk man might get a respectable season out of his group

  45. Usedtocould Says:

Maybe make a few trades, start with trading bowls for a paper bag

  46. Drunk Bucs Fan Says:

I was just thinking the same thing. Are the Browns……..good???

  47. Tucker Says:

If bucs can do this or that? this ship is sunk this team has zero drive it looks as lifeless as Todd looks on the sidelines. There are no stories coming out where players are trying to beat each other to the facilities or constantly watching film together. Tom broke protocals during covid to get on a field to build chemistry this team isn’t doing any of that you can tell because everytime they play they look as if they are meeting each other for the first time it’s so disappointing to watch as a fan

  48. Rod Munch Says:

    “they’re blaming problems on Baker”

    ———-

Outside of me and a few others, who exactly has blamed Baker for anything?

Baker literally lost the game in week 1 by fumbling it three times, costing the team 17 points, and every story was about the defense – not a single story about Baker singlehandedly losing the game.

Week 2, Baker literally has a wide open receiver in the end zone to win the game on the Bucs last play – and he misses an easy throw. Instead of that headline, the rookie WR not being Mike Evans, and unable to make a contested catch on a wet field is the headline – as if asking our $65M/year QB to make 2 good throws in a row is an insane request.

Week 3, Baker didn’t singlehandedly lost the game for the once, but he still missed a bunch of wide open WRs, including one for a touch down in another one score loss.

Heck, to read the comments and stories about here, Baker has been the only bright spot, and everyone has let HIM down.

Now that Baker is injured, and not on the field to drag down the team, the revisionist history is going to start, going to say Baker was doing everything to win the games, but he can’t do it by himself, and what a bargain the Bucs got by resigning him early, because if he had stayed healthy, he’d have been the NFL MVP this season even with the slow start. LOL!

  49. Sam Says:

Fire Todd Bowles that’s a good first step to a winning culture

  50. Rod Munch is Wyndham Clark Says:

That’s been my rub with this franchise. We tasted greatness but settle for mediocrity. I’d hate to be an owner of that.

  51. McBay Says:

The culture is fine. Coach won 3 division titles in a row and only because of bad luck and bad refs did he get cheated out of the rightful title last year.

It’s early, only one game out of first, and the plan is coming together.

People emphasize wins too much when they evaluate performance.

  52. AquaBum Says:

    Jamel dean hurt again

  53. BradyGronkFan Says:

They started to lose that winning culture in 2021 the year after they won the SB. They drafted a whole bunch of development players like JTS and Trask instead of players who could have helped them win right away. In 2022 a key player Jensen got injured and they replaced him with a scrub. And of course they promoted .Bowles in 2022 after he allowed the Rams to win it when it was like a 90% chance of the game going to OT. The 2021 and 2022 rosters were SB capable rosters. I don’t know why they didn’t go all in like they did in 2020.

  54. BucsFan81 Says:

Just remember guys we’re only 1 game out of first place. We just need to coach it better sincerely Toilet Bowles…

  55. Jeff Says:

The common denominator in the post Brady years are the Glazers, Licht and Bowles. All 3 have lived off of Tom Brady’s competitive fire. Players came to Tampa those three seasons to play with TB12, no one came to play because of Licht. I think the bloom is off and Licht needs to go as the team needs a fresh approach and Bowles should have been gone a few years ago.

  56. Aceofaerospace Says:

    Go for 0.

  57. Rod Munch Says:

Winning culture? The team literally handed the biggest contract in team history to a QB that singlehandedly cost the team the playoffs and was so bad he got the entire offensive staff fired.

BTW, when Baker says he takes full responsibility for all those loses and costing the Bucs playoffs, does that include handing out some of his hundreds of millions of career earnings to the coaches families that he got fired? I’m guessing not. But hey, pay the man, he’s been disrespected….

  58. Bartow Buc Says:

Well Gronk was right – someone has to step up and lead ! TB 12 led the Bucs to a Super Bowl, almost 2! Then the next season when the going got rough some of the young Bucs didn’t like his leadership style – it was too rough he was too critical – and there it began, the beginning of a losing culture !!
Someone needs to lead, it needs to be Baker Mayfield, as TB 12 said, the object is to win the Super Bowl right ?? Someone needs to get vocal and LEAD !!

  59. CosmoKramer Says:

The Browns are about to be 3-1. We’re about to be 0-4. Let that sink in.

    Flush the Toilet Bowels now!

  60. Real Bucs Fan Says:

“Jeff says” and other Tommy nut swingers are embarrassing and dumb as door knobs. Brady came to the Bucs because they were already stacked with talent and he networked more talent. The lose idea of thinking Tom Brady saved anything or did anything spectacular is nothing but thot mentality. Bucs have played horrible but still haven’t have a win loss worse than Brady’s last year and Brady walked away early because the stacked team fell apart. He didn’t grind he didn’t represent Tampa, he’s not a real Buc, he’s a celeb who used the Bucs for a ring and you little boys are still looking up with puppy eyes. Glazers, Licht and Bowles were Bucs before Brady. You’re a dumb ass, Jeff.

  61. Bucfan1988 Says:

    Cleveland Browns now 3-1!!!

    Wowwwwwwww!!!

  62. Oxycondomns Says:

raheem the dream failed with cousins , kubiak comes in raiders 3-0. when was last time you heard of watson and the browns. coaching matters

  63. Oxycondomns Says:

trevor was being run out of town before coen joined same mob mentality attacking baker

  64. Bucfan1988 Says:

    Coaching matters TREMENDOUSLY!!!

Also having a QB that goes thru his reads to hit the wide-ass open Receiver matters. Something Baker no longer does!!

Looking forward to seeing JALON Daniels this weekend.
Will see what the kid can do.

  65. Bucfan1988 Says:

Every comment I post is being moderated??
    What the hell??

  66. Bucfan1988 Says:

Joe’s what the heck is going on with my comments??

  67. Bucfan1988 Says:

    Cleveland Browns 3-1!!!

    Wowsers!!!!

  68. Joe Says:

Brady came to the Bucs because they were already stacked with talent

You’re a brave man writing the complete truth on this site. 🙂

  69. Bob Says:

Look at what Todd Monken has done with the Browns, 3-1. Bucs could have had Todd Monken as HC. But Glazers chose to keep Bowles. Being a Bucs fan sucks, awful football team right now. 0-3, Painful to watch.

  70. adam from ny Says:

i know it’s only the first quarter of the season…and first quarters are often quite deceptive when looking back at the end of the year…

but we seemingly have played 3 pretty darn good football teams to this point…

    am i right…?
    am i wrong…?

i dunno…it’s the first quarter of the season…

i’m not sure what to make of our first 3 games, competition wise…

browns – were supposed to be total crap…

    bengals – maybe a 10 win type team…

vikes – maybe a 9-10 win type team…but i had them as my sleeper team – to maybe even win their division…

the league is definitely in flux

  71. SBucs Says:

Jason has done little to build a winning culture after the Super Bowl with tom Brady. Then Todd had coached them out of games. It’s professional football. Teams need to be competitive. Not this year’s Bucs. This will be a long season.

  72. VancouverBuc Says:

@Citrus…Gronk a ‘zilch’ if he played in Cleveland? Really? How many games you watched and how many games you played? The Dude is answering a question, what do u want him to say, ‘its’s the team’s Trainers that need replacing?’

  73. Bartow Buc Says:

Of course TB 12 chose a team loaded with talent – he had his choice – but he picked the Bucs, everyone respected him and followed his lead, right to the championship. There was not another quarterback that could have led that team to the Superbowl in 2020 and 13 wins the next season !
It may be a dream to expect that type of leadership now but I can always hope it will develop sometime this season. And saying Tom Brady is not a Buccaneer is pure hogwash, he’ll be in the Ring of Honor, and will always be remembered as the quarterback who stomped a mudhole in the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl !!

    Go Bucs !!

  74. Obvious Says:

Just remember all the “falcons are awful and browns are awful and saints and panthers and and” etc etc.

Every single one of those franchises has an offensive HC that so far understands how to manage a ball club.

Monken is a bit older but who cares? He clearly knows how to craft a game plan and motivate his players.

Meanwhile we’re still stuck in 1995.

  75. VancouverBuc Says:

    @Bartow Buc 💯

  76. Will Says:

    Word.drop the 🎤

  77. Bucsarg Says:

Before Brady the winning culture was missing. Brady came in and set the tone, he worked the hardest and held people accountable.Little by little the Brady effect has faded away. This team looks like every one is in charge. When everyone is in charge no one is in charge. Brady was the catalyst. Bruce has been riding that wave. Gronk did not need to unretire. He came to the Bucs to win and he had lived the winning tone that Brady sets. Tommy was in charge and everyone knew it. Baker would be smart to study Brady the leader and emulate his work ethic. Drew was athletically better than Brady. Brady worked harder and lead better. Drew was the man and Brady moved him out of the way. I went to bed at halftime when Atlanta was destroying the Patriots. Tom didn’t give up and set the tone for that team. Only Brady could have lead a team to that type of come back. That is the winning culture Gronk is talking about.

  78. Jeagan1999 Says:

    Gronk is exactly right!

  79. OLDSCHOOL1976 Says:

I agree with Drunk Buc, don’t fire Todd until after the season. He needs to suffer like the rest of us. National media is starting to roast him. I want him to have to answer questions and feel the embarrassment. He could have retired when Coen made his power move for a head coaching job. Instead we got 2 more years of this crap. Monkin wasn’t coming here once he got offered a HC job. There are only 32 of those jobs and like he said “I’m 60 years old with many years experience in NFL “ this Browns job was his first and only shot at a life long dream of being a NFL HC. Good for him.

  80. Tony1775 Says:

Technically, you need a coach with “winning”record to have a “winning” culture. 56-76 career record is “losing” culture. Loo-Hoo-Zuh-Her…all righty then.

… yet the Glazers decided to bring the regime back. Didnt this happen last season? duh. THIS IS ALL ON OWNERSHIP! The Brady winning culture Pirate ship sailed away a long time ago. We have a culture of NO ACCOUNTABILITY from the TOP all the way down.

    McDermott 2027!

  83. Pelsbuc61 Says:

Remember the Bucs bs slogan, “I am that man”. Well, that man is unmotivated, lazy, overpaid, bored, injured, filled with excuses and sure knows how to lose. Burn it down to the ashes!!!!!!!

  84. Christos Says:

Its true. I have been a Bucs fan (here in Athens, Greece) since 1998 when I started following the NFL. For the last 20 years the winning culture came single handedly from Brady. The Brady effect created wins for a couple of years but no one in the organization from Ownership to front office to coaching stuff to players learn anything to continue that. Brady left and the culture left with him.
    Sad but true.
    Go Bucs

  85. Bosch Says:

We all know that Bowels is the worst head coach in the NFL. But the losing culture doesn’t start with Bowels even though he certainly embraces it because it frees him from accountability which he so greatly fears. It actually starts with ownership.

The Gazers seem to have an unlimited tolerance for failure. They measure success in dollars and not in winning. They have ZERO interest in pleasing their customers, the fans.

Their failure as owners of a professional sports team is punctuated by taking Manchester United from being the most storied professional futball club to perineal loser on the brink of financial failure. (To be clear, it is the entity that is suffering financially m not the Glazers).

If the Bucs clean house as in getting rid of Licht, Bowels, Zac the Hack and even shaking up their failed training and conditioning staff, the Bucs MAY get better. But under this ownership there will have to be an element of luck involved, like having a Tom Brady fall in your lap.
