Yeah, it’s that bad. The Bucs are winless after another uninspired effort at The Licht House.
Even Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston were winning starters today.
This time for Tampa Bay, not even special teams played well. They had been strong in Weeks 1 and 2.
Vikings returner Myles Price rather easily returned a punt for a touchdown. Anthony Nelson looked slow to a hole and rookie TE Bauer Sharp wasn’t fast enough.
If that wasn’t bad enough, Bucs special teams ace Miles Killebrew got called for a bad hold on a Bucs return, and Tampa Bay inexplicably punted to the returner with six seconds remaining in the first half rather than punt it out of bounds.
But wait, there’s more!
Tez Johnson also fielded a punt at the 1 yard line early in the third quarter (Joe hasn’t seen that in years) and another special teams ace, Kevin Knowles, had a personal foul at the end of a Vikings fourth-quarter return. Those 15 yards helped the Vikings kick a 56-yard field goal to ice the game.
Overall, Joe thinks the Bucs got slighty worse today, after getting worse last week following a sloppy Week 1 in Cincinnati.
The offense was inept, bad penalties returned, but massive props to the defense for keeping the game close while everyone else but Chase McLaughlin struggled.
Where is the vaunted Bucs offensive line? They sure didn’t look like a healthy unit with two first-round picks and two second-rounders.
Where was Baker Mayfield? He was brutal today as a passer and his decision making was questionable. Yeah, he put his body on the line — and it cost him.
Remember, it was all Josh Grizzard’s fault.
Joe understands the rage pulsating through Bucs fandom. This is not a well-coached, on-the-details team.
Stick with Joe for plenty out of this critical game.

They went into the season with a lame duck head coach who should have been let go already, and then decided to tie themselves to an inconsistent and suddenly incompetent QB for 3 years… even tho the HC will be gone after this season.

OLine is worst in the NFL. Egbuka is a bust he is a slot receiver who cant get open doesnt understand how to extend plays scramble to get open when play breaks down. Defense has one pass rusher who they barely play. O coordinator is as bad as it gets. It’s dark dark times in Tampa Bay.

Don’t try to spin the garbage that is the Bucs right now. After starting 0-3, the offensive line looks like the worst part of this team, and that’s supposed to be Licht’s specialty.
Literally, Baker has looked like ass, but the line has looked even worse. And the play-calling has been as predictable as when Zac Robinson was the OC in Atlanta.
I’m not saying Baker is blameless, (he’s downright sucked!)because he absolutely hasn’t played well. But when your QB is getting pressured and hit constantly, and your play-calling is this predictable, there’s plenty of blame to go around.

Mensah at the moment is the best of any QB eligible to declare. I’d say Chambliss is a close 2nd, Manning isn’t on either of those guys’ wave length. Name recognition keeps him in the loop more than his work does and that’s how we keep rats in office in this country.

Baker has not been good but he was miles better today than last week. Most of his throws were on the money. Hit 2 deep shot TDs.
People look at those couple Egbuka passes and think Baker was off. Go watch again, he doesn’t lead Egbuka cause Egbuka would have been murdered. Another one Egbuka has limited awareness and has back to the ball.
Again, Baker has been bad but he was not bad today. Poor play calling and OL play ruined the O today.

Not that it matters, Baker will be back next week and everyone will talk about how tough and brave he is, like they did last year after the Rams game – in reality he just faked an injury because he was playing so bad he just wanted off the field. Sir, he could’ve thrown the ball out of bounds if no one was open. That saves time when there’s under a minute left in the game and you’re down a TD. Its pop warner stuff. Real basic thinking but not for Baker. You think him running backwards, wasting time and throwing an int to recover lost yardage is meaningless. I disagree. Its another bad decision on a long list of bad decisions for Baker. It reinforces bad habits and bad decision making. Another example of what happens when he plays hero ball.

I opened that stand outside Ray Jay. Couldn’t sale even one jersey BUT ALL of my pitchforks and torches Sold Out by the end of the first quarter!
It was CRAZY how people were slipping out to there cars during the game, grabbing long jackets, sneaking over to my stand, buying multiple pitchforks, And Especially torches, and Somehow getting back into the stadium!
I Also sold out of pqper bags. I WAS just using them to put items in Until someone asked me “How Much” for the paper bags? I sold over $300 of those! I ran out of them fast as well. This is definitely on the Glazers. Jason seemed to have every intention to pass on Vita and Baker. He even let us know was instructed to lock them in. He admitted as much by talking about how he was called to sign Baker and while doing school visits for his to kid.
When the team gets a completely new coaching staff and QB, I’ll try watching again. Not until then.

Again, Baker was due $30M after this season, the new deal spread that over 3-years, so he got $55M in NEW money, but also $10M in money he was already do, so he’s a $65M cap hit.

This team is lucky to win one game this year. This is absolute ineptitude all over the place. Toad Blows should have been gone last year. The writing was clear for everyone except team Glazer. I knew this was coming. A kindergartener could see this coming. Sucks having to wait a whole year after a little glimmer of hope it would get better. Now after week 3, the season is done. We have to wait a whole calendar year for some hope, and there is no guarantee it will get better. The dark years are amongst us again ladies and gents. Who knows how long this will last. Pull out the brown bags. All because toad blows was given another chance. It’s basic logic to cut your losses when the ship is sinking. We should have a new regime right now. If we were 0-3 after a regime change, at least we could hang out hat on hope. Instead, we already hit the bottom of the sea last year, now were sinking deeper into the sand. It really sucks ass to be a bucs fan right now. Such a long fall from 2020, six short years ago. How did ownership let us get to this point, it was clear for anyone to see.

Kudos to the defense today for for turning a 180 on the past two weeks!
Penalties hurt our offense today, but the biggest question I have is what has happened to our previously highly-regarded offensive line?
I was relieved to see Mayfield decisive with his throws today. He wasn’t lacking confidence, which seemed to be a problem in the last two games.
If you combine the special teams’ failure on the return with the called-back touchdown pass — and add all of the offensive penalties that hurt our momentum, we would have posted a “W” today.
Joe — I disagree that we were worse today. Overall, I’d say that other than the offensive line we were much improved today with the defense carrying the team.
Why did Zac stop running the ball? We were only down seven. Mystery.

The O line was awful but I can think of about 7 or 8 throws where Baker missed wide open guys and some times badly missed. He looked awful today.
