Rondé Barber Named As Finalist For Pro Football Hall Of Fame Class Of 2023

January 4th, 2023

Finalist.

It seemed like a no-brainer. But Joe gave up predicting how voters’ brains are wired.

Former Bucs great Rondé Barber was named among the 15 finalists for the 2023 Class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Wednesday. This is the third straight year Barber has been a finalist for induction into Canton.

The other 14 finalists include Jared Allen, Willie Anderson, Dwight Freeney, Devin Hester, Tory Holt, Andre Johnson, Darrelle Revis, Joe Thomas, Zach Thomas, DeMarcus Ware, Reggie Wayne, Patrick Willis and Darren Woodson.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame selection committee, of which prized JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman is a selector, will vote for the maximum five finalists that will make up the 2023 class later this month.

The Class of 2023 will be announced at the NFL Honors gala the night before the Super Bowl, broadcast live on NFL Network.

  3. Gbobucsfan Says:

    You got this 20 !

  4. Goatfarmer Says:

    Go Ronde Go!

You defined an entire new position, and set the bar for excellence at that position so high it will never be surpassed.

The gold jacket can’t be on your shoulders soon enough.

  5. sasquatch Says:

I see maybe 3 players on that list that deserve it as much as Barber.

  6. Joshua porter Says:

None of the first year guys should go in this year . Maybe revies that’s a maybe . Ronde has waited his turn its time. Plus then Scott would shut the hell up about it.

  7. AL121976 Says:

Ira needs to step up his game, his track record is not the greatest. I hope Ronde gets in (He deserves it) but wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t.

  8. nwbucsfan Says:

How could Revis get in before Ronde? Give me a break lol

  9. EA Says:

Good luck to Ronde, some good names on that list.

  10. Mort Says:

Revis, Joe Thomas, Freeney, Jared Allen and Devin Hester. Can certainly make a case for some others as well. It’s a tough class but good grief it’s time.

  11. Chris l Says:

Congrats ronde! Joe – the nfl honours is actually now on the Thursday before the game. I liked the Saturday better but they changed it

  12. Irishmist Says:

If he had played for a big market team he’d be in by now.

  13. Frank Pillow Says:

“Pro Bowl my @ss, I’m going to San Diego!”
Put this man in the Hall already!

  14. CleanHouse Says:

If Revis gets in, does he make the Ring of Honor?

  15. DrunkinYbor Says:

The he’s a system corner B.S. is such a lazy lame excuse for not enshrining this man. Even if he was a quote system player. He was one of the best ever ever. He has earned that gold jacket.

  16. david Says:

I think he makes it this time. Almost everyone listed there deserves to get in, but some need to wait longer.

    My vote-
Revis, Barber, J Thomas, Wayne, Allen

  17. ModHairKen Says:

Does longevity matter? Game changing plays? How about Super Bowls? Ronde has it.

None of the other nominees have all of that. A lot of Dan Marinos on that list — big stats, lot of noise, no championship.

  18. LOL Says:

Darrelle Revis, Joe Thomas, Ronde Barber, Patrick Willis and Darren Woodson.

  19. rrsrq Says:

Do your thing Mr. Kauffman, it’s time

  20. Jason Says:

    Bribe the voters!!!
    Cheat to win baby!!!

  21. George Says:

    Ira:

We need you to make the speech of a lifetime to help Ronde get over the goal line.
