“It Would Never Work”

Impenetrable

Keyshawn Johnson will not be shaken from his firm opinions on his former Super Bowl team, our beloved Buccaneers.

The stud receiver turned major BSPN TV and radio personality was ranting about Sunday’s Bucs-Bears matchup recently and then cut off one of his co-hosts when he dared to suggest that the Bears would at least have to try to establish the run against Tampa Bay.

“It would never work,” Johnson barked.

“You can run the ball and get hit at the line of scrimmage if you think that’s going to loosen the defense up,” he added with a touch of sarcasm. “You get on the perimeter and you get the ball out of [quarterback] Justin Fields’ hands quick.”

The overall message from Johnson was the Bears’ only shot is to “take advanage of the secondary” as often as possible for a prayer of beating the Bucs.

Johnson said the loss of furniture-hurling, bicycle-throwing Antonio Brown and Rob Gronkowski for this game is downright meaningless because the Bucs are so loaded. He believes they’ll be a top-3 team in the conference regardless of their injury situation.

No LVD and no JPP is a huge concern. No AB is also huge. Lombardi Lenny better go off for 150 combined, minimum. This is a very scary game.

I hate to agree with Meshawn, but I think he makes some good points in this case.

    Gotta love his confidence!

Our Bucs are still the best team in football … PERIOD … They lost to a great Ram’s team on the road. They didn’t get blown out !! And in a few weeks, we will start getting our players healthy , and like TB12 said today , the first few weeks of the season are the hardest because they don’t have the film on what teams tendencies are. Now it’s been 6 weeks!! Yes I would like to see GRONK and AB out there. But we still have Evans and Godwin !! We still have one of , if not the best O-LINE in the NFL !! We score over 28 points, even 21 on the Bear’s and the Bucs win !! GO BUCS !!

  5. View from 132 Says:

Stud receiver? Dude spent years here catching a 5 yard ball and falling down. One of the most overrated players of a generation. One of the most durable, physical receivers the game has ever seen, 33rd on the career receptions list and he didn’t exactly play with legendary QBs. –Joe

  6. Swampbuc Says:

The Rams clocked the Bucs, physically and in every way. It was a blowout, late garbage time TD made it seem close. This overconfidence about the Bucs is foolish.

  7. cmurda Says:

No, he spent years doing the dirty work takin shots over the middle but moving those chains. Hate on Keyshawn the man if you choose, but he was an outstanding receiver.

  8. Cody Says:

Dak Prescott almost beat your little Tom Brady watch Dallas this year Super Bowl baby

  9. Mike Says:

Meshawn knows, running against the Bucs is a losing game. Sure, you might get a few yards here and there, but you are going to fail a lot more times than you succeed. However, with LVD out, if you can fool White and get him going on a misdirection, you might be able to do some things on the outside (Minter is a bit slow footed).

  10. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Keyshawn was a great possession receiver….much like Mike…..but Mike is more versatile….

As far as the game….I hope they try to run and keep trying to run…….Keyshawn is right…..they need to pass and pass quickly….

The only way we don’t score 24-28 points is if we turn the ball over and keep racking up penalties…..and there is hardly a way they score that much.

  11. Wild Bill Says:

The Rams game was a physical butt kicking. The Bears have a history of tough ugly play. The Bucs are more of a finess team on offense but tough on defense. I give the Bucs a big edge because of their offense. Both defenses will play tough.

  12. Mike Says:

To Cody: You mean little Tom Brady with the 7 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS?? That Tom Brady??. ..Dak ALMOST beat Tom Brady!!!! That’s priceless!!!!

  13. B Says:

I dunno, Joe if you exactly making a good case against “132” comment. Durable? Thats great but does that make a receiver great? Worth those draft picks and all that hype? That’s kind of like saying “she was one of the most confident supermodels the industry has ever seen”. And he has the reception numbers cause there was no one else on the team to throw to. He doesn’t have good yards.

  14. Eric Says:

Cody. We spotted your Cowboys 4 turnovers and 2 in the red zone. We also had over 100 penalty yards and the Cowboys STILL lost.

  15. E.V. Says:

BUCS ARE STILL LOADED ON OFFENSE AND WE DON’T NEED A GREAT DEFENSE TO SCORE 40 PLUS AGAINST THE BEARS AFTER OUR BYE WEEK WE WILL BE AT FULL STRENGTH THEN DALLAS AND ARIZONA AND RAMS WILL FIND OUT EXACTLY WHAT BRADY AND COMPANY WILL DO AND THAT’S TO SCORE, 40 PLUS EVERY GAME TILL THE PLAYOFFS!!! WATCH AND SEE…..

  16. E.V. Says:

PACKERS AND ROGERS ARE NOT GOING TO OWN ANYTHING EXCEPT A FAMILY VACATION.. SAME WILL GO WITH ARIZONA AND RAMS… ONLY TEAM THAT LOOKS GOOD BESIDES BUCS IS DALLAS. SO I THINK IT WILL BE REMATCH IN PLAYOFFS DALLAS AT TAMPA BAY.. AFC IS A LITTLE TOUGH BILLS OR CHARGERS OR BENGALS BUT BALTIMORE I DON’T THINK SO.
