“Not Sure What They Have In Common With Me.”

July 23rd, 2021

Our beloved Buccaneers report for physicals tomorrow (hangover checks?) and kick off their first training camp practice on Sunday morning.

What a beautiful time to be alive!

An entire Super Bowl starting roster returns, plus many role players like Antonio Brown, Ross Cockrell, backup running backs, the glorious kicker and key championship cogs like Cameron Brate, Aaron Stinnie, Mike Edwards and more.

All those returnees means relatively few guys on the roster intimidated/left speechless by Tom Brady. Yeah, the Bucs have rookies and added running back Giovani Bernard, but there’s little change elsewhere aside from the camp-meat bubble players.

That means extra comfort for Brady.

During his chat on SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio this week, Brady talked about the awkwardness of his current status as as an old-man superstar in the NFL, and how it was magnified coming to a new team last year.

“Guys are not sure what to ask me. Not sure what they have in common with me,” Brady said, adding how he played a lot in college against Bucs safety Antoine Winfield’s dad. For perspective, Brady talked about as a New England player getting to know ball boy Zak D’Ossie … who already finished his Pro Bowl NFL career.

It got Joe thinking about how in the opening hours of training camp last season, newcomer Brady had so many teammates staring at him like he just landed from heaven. Poor Brady was trying to learn new coaches and plays, and also manage the daily awkwardness of it all.

Now he’s just Tom. One of the guys. Without a busted up knee.

Maybe the Bucs can go undefeated?

Best chances of an undefeated team in a LONG time

  2. Medicated Pete Says:

They still look @ him like an Alien b/c he is

  3. SlyPirate Says:

Can you imagine being a Bucs rookie?

You walk into camp and you see …
    1. Super Bowl Champs
    2. HOF-Caliber Players Everywhere (Evans, Suh, JPP, AB)
    3. 2020 Rookies who killed it (Wirfs, Winfield)
    4. And TB12

    That would be intense.

  4. ocala Says:

My prediction is 14-3, but if they win their first eight then I think the momentum could potentially get them to an undefeated season.

  5. Bird Says:

    Ocala

I am with you in that. Maybe 13-4

    ——-

Joe- you got to get the pick of brady with his 7 rings of bling
He wants at least 1 more – one for each finger …unless they can customize a thumb ring for him at 9

    😂

  6. PSK Bucs Fan Says:

LFG! This is gonna be so much fun! Go Bucs!

  7. Buc4evr Says:

Would love to go 20-0, but concerned about the disease, with the help of the nfl, ruining our party this year. I just hope we don’t have to forfeit any games……

  8. Slugglife Says:

Stay away from the smoking hot groupies boys! They’re employed by the folks in charge of gambling. 4 months of grind without extracurriculars.

This is gonna be a tight rope to walk. As I said- who sent Jordan that pizza. One game could end the season.

  9. IrishMist Says:

Well, now most of them have those big gaudy super bowl rings in common with him.

  10. Slugglife Says:

    Irish

Except the rookies. They ain’t got sh!t. Imagine being that guy and crying one time. 😎

  11. SufferingSince76 Says:

If the league got through the sickness last year, there’s no reason they can’t do the same this year. We already had to put up with the doom and gloomers last year and they were soooooo off the mark, so stop it. Please.

  12. Brandon Says:

I’m glad Whitehead got hit with this early. We had plenty of players that had it last summer. There is no debate, natural immunity is far better than the vaccine.
