Injuries Update

February 3rd, 2021

The latest.

Bucco Bruce Arians had an update of the Bucs’ big three injuries.

Receiver Antonio Brown and safeties Jordan Whitehead and Antoine Winfield each participated in half of today’s practice, Arians said. He added Whitehead was wearing a non-contact jersey but still ran around well.

Arians did not say they are ready to play for Super Bowl LV only that their probability to play has improved.

Joe got the sense from Arians all three will be a game-time decision.

No word on Lavonte David’s hamstring, but if you watch his various media availability videos from this week, he sure talks like he’s playing.

Arians said the team will likely make their decisions on the active gameday roster on Saturday.

  1. David Says:

Seems obvious to me LVD and Whitehead are playing.
Winfield and Brown I’m not so sure. That’s an ankle and knee, they need to be able to run full steam, especially Winfield, in order to have an impact.
Brown could play at less than 100% but I don’t know if that’s better than Johnson and Miller.

  2. Buc4evr Says:

Think they are all suited up. After 9 years I can’t see LVD missing this game for any reason. Whitehead and Winfield both get playing time. Maybe Brown gets reduced work, but I bet he plays also.

  3. MadMax Says:

Save them for the 2nd half….if they are going to play.

  4. Robert Says:

If Whitehead plays he’s a beast. he tore his shoulder up on that guys quad. huge hit.

  5. Listnfrmafar Says:

Saw a clip on NFL network not too long ago and showed Bucs practicing, unless there is another 54, he was practicing.

  6. Mitch Says:

I am all for Whitehead gutting it out. I just wonder if he plays how much he will be forced to adjust from his playing style? Another hit to that shoulder could cause another separation and more damage… just wondering.

With a guy like Brown I think u suit even if he’s not 100%. . . just to run some plays early to get other guys open
If he’s out there they will have to consider covering him

  8. bojim Says:

A hard hitter babying his shoulder? Good thoughts to all three.

  9. DerrickBrooksGOATLB Says:

They will all suit up – even if just to give KC something additional to game plan for and think about. Wouldn’t be surprised if AB sees a limited number of snaps and is a decoy for the most part but he still draws attention.

Winfield has sounded confident most of the week that he’s going to play. LVD and Whitehead seem like no brainers.

  10. SlyPirate Says:

Get LVD right and we’re ready.

  11. Bird Says:

    I read that differently

I think AB and winfield will play
Whitehead will not. You can run around all you want but if you have a tender pot roast dangling appendage as a shoulder you cant tackle or hit anyone
Wonder if he can even lift arm over his head.
They never gave results of doagnostic or MRI ? Or did i miss that

No contact jersey usually just for qbs and players recovering from concussion

    No question lavonte plays

  12. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

It’s the GD Super Bowl fellas. Jack Youngblood played with a broken leg. All of these guys will play, except maybe Whitehead.

Oooow…. so edgy. At least the Brady disrespect has stopped
